    I love the original version and this version. This song stayed a hit from the Spring of 1987 through most of the Summer.

    Yeah, first time I saw these guys was at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. (The first of many) . Such an intimate concert. And so funny. These guys would not stop cracking jokes. To the point where their sound guy yelled at them to hurry up because they were doing a second show right after ours. I'm so glad I was at that show.

    I remember their show at the Bathurst Theatre (circa 1981-3) when Paul introduced this song and there was a subtle but gaspy reaction from the audience when he said "him" and Paul turned and said "yes". An interesting poignant moment for gay acceptance in TO.

      Yes, they just performed in Halifax. They will be touring parts of Europe next year and then they plan to retire from touring. There is only one member of the group still living and he is in his sixties. I love the group.

      Paul Cooper, he was my uncle (my mom's little brother) He died 4 days after Christmas about 3 years ago, and every year at that time, it's always pretty sad. For other people he might have been a famous guy, but I miss my uncle. Sometimes I get on TH-cam and just read the comments and it brings tears to my eyes. We are very proud of everything he did in his life, miss him so much it's not funny.

      J C he always seemed so happy and full of life. I read this was a song he didn’t want to do originally, but I’m glad he and the band did. My favorite version of this song!

    • @kanpaifighto
      @kanpaifighto 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DW3010 actually I heard it was Paul who wanted to do it, and they finally caved and it became one of their biggest hits...rightfully so! So sorry for your loss J C, I always idolized Paul growing up. He really was the soul of this group.
