Wish I had the mental toughness of these Legends....
Join the military bro
A lot of the footage is actually of Prince Harry and his time training with the SOTG. Not that I am complaining, he is an absolute badass. I am by no means a huge fan of monarchies, but if a Prince is willing to fight alongside those that he "rules", then that is a Prince that I would be willing to serve under.
Nice profile pic mate Bad Company 2 FTW. It seems you know a lot about the ADF if I may ask what do you think is better if I want to join the 2 CDO Regiment. Should I go for Direct Recruitment Sceme or join the ADF as a riflemen and work my way up the ranks until I'm hopefully selected for SOF training? Sorry if my question doesn't make any sence I'm just lost at this point on how everything works :(.
Nomad Haha yes definitely my favourite Battlefield game by far. Sorry for the late reply by the way, haven't been on TH-cam these past few days. But my answer to your question is to go for Infantry first. The reason for this is because they are more likely to accept you because (I'm assuming you're 16/17 thinking about joining up), they view 18/19 year olds as immature. They want someone with experience first, whether that be through a full time job, tafe or university. Now, that's not to say you 100% won't get accepted as a direct entry applicant but it's highly unlikely and if you get in, you are ELITE (No other way to put it haha). Most special forces candidates are in their 30s or late 20s because a lot of them are already hardened veterans, and still many of them do not get selected so that should be an indication of just how vigorous special forces selection is. The way I think of it is that Special Forces is the tip of the spear, and so selection and grading is very, very strict. So for me to join straight from the Civ world would be extremely difficult because not only do I have to train to become a soldier, but an elite one. So the basic soldiering skills like for example navigation etc, they expect me to already know or be able to pick it up really quickly, but I don't because I have not served yet so it would be extremely difficult given that I am trying to learn a basic skill whilst extremely food and sleep deprived. So my answer is, go for Infantry first, simply because a) you're more likely to get accepted by recruitment b) it's much easier Sorry if my reply is really long winded haha I just went rambling but yeah that's my honest answer because that's my path that I will be taking. I'm currently in University so after I finish up with that I will head straight for the Infantry and then after a few years I'll apply for selection. Hopefully you got your answer haha
Spoken like a true champion.Thank you mate your correct with the my age lol. Best of luck to you.
+Nomad No worries mate, best of luck to you too! If you have any further questions feel free to just shoot
Thanks mate
This is honestly my favourite tribute to our boys out there.
Beautiful. absolutely beautiful
As an Australian, This is my favorite MHS video (not sure why! ;) ) BUT! We have two SF groups and I wouldn't mind seeing some footage from our Commando Regiment!
or north foces them fuckers are scrye
Sasr, commando, navy clearance divers theres more than 2 and more than i listed but cant remember all
There are 5 units commanded under SOCOM in Australia: The Special Air Service Regiment (SASR). 1st Commando Regiment (Reservists where many ex-SASR and 2CDO go, also the only reserve force deployed overseas since WW2), 2nd Commando Regiment (previously 4RAR) Special Operations Engineer Regiment (SOER, previously IRR) and Special Operations Logistics Squadron. Navy clearance divers are not SF but I believe that they do provide a capability to the Tactical Assault Group (TAG- both east and West) the counter terrorist units manned at all times by a Squadron of SASR or A Commando Company (depending on what side of Australia you're on). Most of the footage in this video would be from the 2nd Commando Regiment as the nature of their work tends to be less classified in contrast to the SASR.
@@timmillsom4457 Even though this was over a year ago I thought I'd mention the RAAF has No.4 Squadron B Flight which are Combat Controllers.
Don’t us Australian’s spell “Favorite” favourite?
That's one badass prince you've got there!
+Sgt Ultra I thought he was an Apache pilot?
DJSbros from what i've seen he's done a bunch of different shit
+DJSbros He was a Royal Marine, or British Army infantry officer first, then changed up to be an Apache pilot
+Sgt Ultra He's the Prince. His service is all just a PR campaign. They let him do whatever the fuck he wants.
Bill Nye not quite, his service is quite real, as was his brothers.. traditionally the men of British royalty have all had military careers. the video's with the AusSAS was definitely a PR shoot though
May God bless the Australian special forces and their families. Much love from the U.S.A.

I'm no fan of monarchy, but anyone else think it's totally badass that Prince Harry trained with these guys and went on a secret tour to Afghanistan with the British Military? Its like a ruler in the middle ages leading his army into battle with his knights.
wouldnt say totally secret, he was an infantry officer for a while and had to switch to air corp when the media screwed up his chances of deploying infantry again
Prince harry is a CPT so his dad organised that for him and not so secret cause it was broadcast on tv
Yeah true eh. At least he served, so I respect him for that. Not all Insanely Rich people think we're all just peasants...
im scottish so i hate the monarchy
@@Bones_CCMCC it was a Scottish monarch that united the English and Scottish crowns..

We were literally settled by convicts, that the British Empire saw no use for. Look at us now! No wonder we're tough as nails
I agree it's also funny how we have a better legal system then most countries as we were settled by convicts
Martin Ryan no alot of us are mostly free immigrants or settlers soldiers or explorer's...
The convicts where used to build the British empire they where not settlers, they could stay or go anywhere else in the British empire once they did their 7 or 14 years of transportation. convicts where sent to the american colonies too. the brits sent them everywhere in the empire. was a cheap and efficient labour force.
@Tufican At least we're tougher than you. We have to deal with snakes, spiders and annoying people trying to shame us. The Aussies are the toughest people on the damn planet.
Martin Ryan and we mad some convicts to police
Great vid, stellar quality as usual. These types of videos become 10x better when you mute them and play your own preferred choice of music imo!

Australian citizens do know that for Australia to be a developing country its citizens have to also develop themselves.
