Of course there are easily 100 S-Tier experiences when it comes to gaming... all the FromSoftware games alone (Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Dark Souls series) belong to the best games ever made - and then Skyrim, Fallout 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Metro: Exodus, Hitman 1-3, the Dead Space series, the GTA series, Borderlands 2+3 etc. etc. - there are so many insane games, but there are def. not many that can get you with a similar intense story compared to the RDR games or Cyberpunk or The Last of Us... it's like playing a movie and a RPG at the same time. When Arthur suddenly starts coughing in the mid-late game, it just gets to ya differently, very very few games have portrayed such a tragic horrendous story in such a beautiful artistic way.
When I heard the doctor tell Auther he has TB, I knew then he was making out of the story alive. Today we can cure it, during this time it was a death sentence. All they could do was recommend ways to be more comfortable while you wait to die.
Rockstar has just matured with its longtime fans. As you grow older, you approach everything more calmly and slow down the pace. This is also reflected in RDR2. It was initially unusual for me as well, but once you get used to it and find your pace, there's nothing better just walking around in this beautiful open world. A true masterpiece.
It almost takes the form of a VR. After 100%ing the game. I often fancied going fishing in some of my favourite places... And clock the odd NPC over the head with my pistol, if the fancy took me.
I think a lot of people can relate that Arthur is probably the only game character where you actually mourned his death. One of the best characters ever written, across everything not just games.
@@tonikross7014 You really never had a tear in your eye after watching a movie? In this game, you spend like 100 hours with the same character and a long time with the same horse, if you dont get a tear in your eyes after seeing both of them die, you must be emotionless.
I played the game very slowly. I acted like I was really in the game. Not rushing everything. Had to experience every thing in one spot before moving on to the next. I am very glad to have played this for more than 400 hours before finally deciding to finish the main story. What a masterpiece of a game. Its crazy how some people love movies and books but don’t like video games. RDR2 is basically a very well written story and you are the main character in this movie. Thumbs up for RDR 3!
Yes! 100% agree, it's like half the movie you write yourself depending on what you do and where you go first the game just helps you along into the next chapters, I don't even think if they turned it into an actual movie that it would do it any justice, nothing compares to the actual game play and story itself 😭
I've always thought the same thing. Some of the older generation just doesn't get it because they have never experienced it rly. But yeah, some games are more like a really good, playable movies. Those are the best bro.
@Indhex "If narrative is what in then games aren't a great option" Dude, what? There are more narrative games available than anyone could ever have the time to play, and more coming out so frequently that you could never run out. Sure, many games don't have a focus on story, but many movies don't either. Games, like any other form of art, vary wildly in how they present whatever it is they want to convey. Almost all I play is story driven games, and I'm still regularly finding more. Not only that, but the medium is unique in that it is able to present beautiful, complex stories with no dialog amd entirely through gameplay. Classic examples would be things like Ico or Journey. The only people who think games aren't telling incredible stories regularly (or not even capable of doing so) simply don't play games. Either that, or they're playing the same AAA copy-paste FPS and sports games 99% of the time. Branch out a little, you'll quickly see just how wrong you are.

I’ll never forget experiencing RDR2 for the first time, I can’t put into words how beautiful it was
I disliked it the first time, I just couldn't get into it, I also found it too slow. I've bought it again recently after 5 years later. I'm now a dad, and really, really appreciating the slower paced gameplay. It's a masterpiece. So much freedom.
It is still beautiful on the third play through just look in the right place
Sounds like what I felt with Cyberpunk 2077. Everyone says that I’d love rdr2 cuz the NPCs are more intelligent so can’t wait to try it.

Never felt so connected to a character. It hit hard for sure.
Felt the same way. I felt it for like a week after I was done with the story. Greatest story I've played in a game ever.
I was more connected to the horse. That hit me harder.

Arthur Morgan had one of the greatest redemption arcs of any video game protagonist.
Not if you played with low honor. Only forking pussies play with high honor because they were tricked their entire lives that being good was the right thing, and not because they were being manipulated by people who benefit from you being a good little simp for them
And I'm glad I unironically played the story the way it was meant started with low honor ended with high honor

He did have a very red, very dead, redemption in fact
Any character period. There are film and book characters written by the greatest writers in history with less about then than Arthur Morgan! If they ever do a film that actor is gonna have some mighty big boots to fill!

When Arthur suddenly starts coughing in the mid-late game, it just gets to ya differently, very very few games have portrayed such a tragic horrendous story in such a beautiful artistic way.
That stupid farmer gave him tuberculosis
The dreams with the wildlife differ on your playthrough style. Bro got the buck so you know he played the honest man the whole game. 😢
Especially when he passes out in saint Denis
When I heard the doctor tell Auther he has TB, I knew then he was making out of the story alive. Today we can cure it, during this time it was a death sentence. All they could do was recommend ways to be more comfortable while you wait to die.
When he got diagnosed I alt f4d to google ...how to not let Arthur Morgan get tuberculos
Actually as you grow up you approach everything as “Does it meed to be done?” and the pace is actually even faster.
No matter what time will fly by
CPUKwan is right but so are you. We all mature differently. Some people don't mature at all. Everyone is different.

Its crazy how some people love movies and books but don’t like video games. RDR2 is basically a very well written story and you are the main character in this movie. Thumbs up for RDR 3!
Doesn't really makes sense because rdr2 had to be a "book/script" before it became a video game
Some people are literally too stupid to play video games. They can't get passed the tutorial learning phase.
@Indhex "If narrative is what in then games aren't a great option"
Dude, what?
