  • Working nightshift and flying is not a good combination... Always missing the best weather around
But, after a couple of hours of sleep, I am ready for a flight to Enniskillen and back.
I should have just enough time to get there, land, pay the landing fee and depart before the airfield closes at 17h00 sharp...

Life has a habit of getting in the way and sometimes it feels as if you just hanging on and being taken for a ride. Totally out of control with no way to get yourself back on track.
The funny thing is, that you are not alone. Every single one of us has, at some point, been on the border of a mental health crisis. Some even went all the way...
My aim with my flying is to raise awareness of how "common" mental health problems really are.
I ask my passengers to share their stories and how they cope. While introducing them to the joy of flying, in the majority of cases the first time, a light aircraft.
Yes, some of these flights might be long and boring for some. But keep in mind, it is not about you. It is about the passengers prioritizing themselves and letting go of their stress and life struggles for a full hour.

DISCLAIMER: I am a "weekend warrior" National Private Pilot, I fly for fun and enjoy sharing my love for flying. I consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve... Having GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self-analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve and am happy to share them. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive

The approach to St Angelo over Lough Erne is my favourite. Flying over the Fermanagh Lakelands is class. 👍

Lovely day for flying,do you use a transponder,, what changes are you making on your iPad from to time ,

No, I am not transponder equipped.
All kinds of information you can get from SkyDemon. Mostly confirming frequencies, estimating distanced, heading and time to landmarks not part of the flightplan. Basically getting used to managing my resources. This season I want to work on getting more comfortable with ATC. Not having a transponder, I will have to make accurate position reports and estimations from time to time and SD is a valuable tool to assist in this.

Hi Deon, Yes NPPL is a lot cheaper to do than a PPL and way more fun in the long run.
How much it is going to cost is difficult to say. It depends on your performance. I would suggest you get in touch with Northern Light Aviation at Eglington. They should be able to give you a rundown.
The costs of microlights varies considerable. If you looking at X'Airs, anything between £4500 up to £7000.
Best is to keep an eye out on www.afors.com/three-axis-microlights/for-sale
Remember the running costs as part of your budget for buying something.
