Arabic is one of my favorite languages. I hated it when it was my job to translate it in the Navy, but years after I got out I picked it back up and applied it to a different purpose (reading the Bible and other such Christian pursuits) and suddenly found that I now loved it. (Praying for help with it was a big reason for this! It's a hard language, but with God's help my understanding skyrocketed.) I might be going to Cairo to teach English later this year, and I'm looking forward to using my Arabic for real!

Nice video, as always. I suggest you go for Arabic but still keep to do some German in parallel. You will find out that there are a few peculiarities that both languages have in common like e.g. the order of digits when speaking numbers or some words with multiple different meanings having exactly those same meanings in the other language. As basically everyone in Dubai speaks English and most people there do not speak Arabic, you might have to go for a trip to neighbouring Oman for practice, or go to the more rural parts of the UAE.
I've been learning German myself for 3 weeks and even though the pronunciation and grammar is not einfach, it's been nevertheless a rewarding process. For me personally the pronunciation of the CH as in Ich it's been the most difficult one For grammar it's a headache to make the distinction between GERN / MAG and NICHT / KEIN
start out with the velar fricative as in _ach_ and move your tongue ever so slightly to the front while sustaining the fricative until you hear the softer friction from _ich_ practice again going from say _Loch_ to _Pech_ and so on... (usually the uvular fricative - the initial and intervocalic _r_ - is the one that is hardest for foreigners to acquire unless you're French =P)

You probably shouldn't study Arabic - everyone important in the UAE speaks English and a completely different language family is going to be difficult. You should focus on learning IE languages for now.

If you are learning German the channel Natürlich German has total beginner CI videos.

I find it fascinating that Muslims worship what they believe is piece of the moon in Mecca in the Kabba. Hence the symbol of the crescent moon. This continued worship of the moon, pre-dates Mohammad. Another interesting part is that the current Mecca in Saudi is the third site, and third country of perceived origin. Pity the Imams do not teach this. Why would that be ?

Everybody has that problem, no worries. You just have to listen to native speakers a lot, youtube and podcasts will help.

TH-cam is fine for more advanced stuff, but totally lacking in A1 content.
