    I have this projector. Here's my opinion:
    Pros:
    UTR in this price range. I bought in Oct 2021 and there were no other UTR in this price range (a must-have in my apt setting)
    Audio is very very good! I have a nice 2.1 setup and most of the time I use the built-in speakers unless I want to use the subwoofer
    Nice ID design
    Pretty quiet
    Cons:
    Alexa doesn't work (I don't use anyways)
    light bleed around screen. I don't know how this guy got the projection to the edge of the screen but I have about 3cm border to avoid light bleed
    software UX needs improvement. But I still prefer it to using Firestick bc I don't want 2 remotes. They don't have a license for Google play service so apps that rely on this won't work
    Auto keystone / Image flattening doesn't work. I just manually setup like this guy
    3D works but cant adjust the aspect ratio (I don't really care)
    Not so bright (I don't watch TV in day time but its OK if you have light blocking blinds)
    My recommendation:
    Get this projector if you live in a small apt and want to watch on 100" screen

      Would it work outside with an inflatable screen? We're wanting to watch baseball/football games out by the pool.

      I have this projector too, image flattening does work, and using a roku stick works fine, netflix 4k required HDMI 2.2 and this only has 2.0, but setting it to use HDMI 1.4 works well, just not 4k. Overall its amazingly quiet, my biggest gripe is that the phone remote sucks for turning it on/off so you need to have the projector remote around or to press the button on top

    Hi! I hope you see my question, even though this video is a couple of years old. It is so hard to find good information on UST projectors, so I really appreciate your in-depth review.
    My question - how would you think the JMGO O1 Pro perform on a stage under stage lighting, as part of a concert? Would it still be viewable because it's not throwing the projection over a distance and competing with the stage lighting? And can it handle going up to 120", if viewed from about 10m back or so?

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there - I don't think it will be powerful enough in full light - its ok in low ambient but possibly not with stage lighting - although not much will if I'm honest - you need a very high lumens output to compete with that amount of light.

    I really like my JMGO Pro 01. I do wish the brightness was better, that it worked with Alexa Echos to power on and off and that it had a power saver setting that shut it down if no signal is detected. I know it has a sleep timer but I would like it to turn itself off if it doesn’t detect a signal. Then I could use my Alexa to just shut off the Nvidia shield and the projector will shut off five mins later. Sucks my govee lights, surround sound and Nvidia shield all can use Alexa but my projector can’t.

      Been using my lately with a Google Chromecast TV after 2 years boxed up. And must say if the JMGO software would've been polished up to the Google Chromecast standard it would've been the best UST in its price range. The hardware is not what lacks ( yes it would be even better with more lumens) but it is the software that brings it down. If all the things that was promised in the promo video this thing would be perfect.

    I'm curious on this question I'm about to ask. I have $3000 to spend. I've been looking hard at the xgimi aura. As far as value for money. I thought this be a good choice? My wants in a ust projector is of #1 course picture quality ease of settings future software/firmware updates. I also like a easy setup (keystone correction) such as put the projector on my entertainment area and adjust the unit to where the screen is( not adjust the screen to where the projector is.) I'm also looking for a good ust projector for some ambient light since I won't be watching in complete or somewhat complete darkness all the time. I was looking at a alr screen but I'm on a budget of about $500. I heard carls cinegrey would be a good choice as their alr produces Hotspot on ust projectors . I'm Not sure maybe you can answer that? Please help a novice out!!

    Does this projector have to be inches away to display property? I dont need 100 inch display. 60 to 70 inches of display is good. I have a small room. How is the projection from about 5 - 7 ft away from the screen?

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a UST, so the closer it is to the wall, the smaller the image, the further away, the larger but it gets huge after only 12" or so from the wall.

    This projector hits all the spots and ticked all the boxesz I wish it was actually at least 2000 ANSI LUMENS. THEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT!! The size, the features, the user interface, the ease of use, the colors, ALL OF IT! did I mention size?!? I needed something brighter, tried a CASIRIS A6 and holy smokes!!! The size is like twice as much or maybe more than the JMGO 01 Pro. I couldn't get the colors to work with the CASIRIS, thought it might have been a defective unit, tried another one, nope. Returned both. Tried an XGIMI AURA and that one was perfect (picture wise) out of the box, but MY GOD, that thing is even bigger than the CASIRIS, I meant WTF?!?! AND LITERALLY weighs about 40+ pounds!!! If JMGO brings back the 01 pro form factor with higher brightness, I'm buying it! But its got to have at least 2000 ANSI lumens. Their triple projector is just as big as the CASIRIS. So that was a no go, plus not all the features of the pro. So far, out of all these projectors I've gotten, the VaVa is the one that has been perfect. Size, brightness, color. Should have gotten two VAVAs, but I'm content with the XGIMI for now.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Casiris A6 is probably the best UST I've tested. You need a sensor to calibrate it and correct the colours and greyscale but when you do - WHOA!! It's pretty nuts.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Robert, yes that is commonly known as the "soap opera effect" - and in most implementations, I haven't liked it, but because you can adjust the level of MMC on this projector, having it on low or medium it just makes the framerate look smoother and less jarring without the soap opera washy look. Just my opinion. The VAVA projector has it and I didn't like the implementation of it on that projector.
