Bro this is probably the best 31 on 31 there has been. I love about 28 of these movies and hearing yours and everyone else’s perspective on these great films is fucking phenomenal Cody. Makes me wanna watch them all over again my dude
This is probably my favorite 31 on 31 because throughout most of the video you are talking about good movies and it is entertaining to listen and watch you talk about movies you love.
I love how you're explaining so well why each movie falls where it is. I actually understood every placement you had, and I really respect your opinions. Keep up the good work!
I completely agree that Panic Room is completely underrated. That was the film that I watched from Fincher that I started to see his stylistic choices and fell in love with them.
Cody, you should make a 31 on 31 on Stanley Kubrick, James Cameron, and Paul Thomas Anderson movies. It adds up to 31! Kubrick: 13 Cameron: 10 Anderson: 8
Kubrick would certainly dominante the top 10 but There Will Be Blood, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, Terminator, Terminator 2, and Aliens would be heavy competition.
@JGGAMER989 Another cool idea for Cody to do would be to rank Stanley Kubrick and the Coen Brothers. Kubrick had 13 films and the Coens currently have 18 films. They add up to 31 too.
While I disagree with a LOT of this list (social network for sure) 😂, I really enjoy watching your rankings and seeing how everyone receives these movies. Sometimes just watching and yelling WHAT?!?!! is part of what makes this format and series work for me. Kudos for giving Insomnia and Gone Girl love as they seem to be underrated. Good job on yet another 31 on 31. I'm slowly making my way thru all of them. Oh, the klan scene in Django is comedic gold 😂
Subjectively, Zodiac is easily my favorite movie of all time. Objectively, it's the best directed film on the list. I say that because of the lengths Fincher went to recreate not just the details of the case but San Francisco in the 60's and 70's. I've watched it 5 times in the past year and I catch multiple new things every time
1. zodiac 2. reservoir dogs 3. fight club 4. the prestige 5. pulp fiction 6. gone girl 7. the social network 8. the dark knight 9. batman begins 10.girl with the dragon tatoo

Outstanding video cody, I was kind of shocked by a few spots but your top ten was what I thought it was going to be. My favorite movie on the whole list is se7en. Probably my favorite Kevin spacey role other than the usual suspects.
Dude, I totally agree with you when it comes to the prestige, think that it is a very underrated film! The first time I watched it I was blown away, I immediately watched it again, one of the few times in my life I have ever done that. The concept, the performances...perfection! Might be my favourite Nolan film.
Overall, I very much enjoyed your rankings. I may differ on a few of them with you, but totally respect where you are coming from. A lot of the Tarantino movies I would have ranked lower, not because he is not a great film maker, but I feel that both Fincher and Nolan have a lot more to say in their films, where I think that Tarantino pays more homage to his influences rather than coming up with original material, not to say that I don’t appreciate that, but I am more intrigued by the risks that the other two filmmakers take. Love your content, can’t wait to see how others on the Autopstream rank these directors films. Much love Cody, keep up the good work!
What my conclusion about the Inception ending, I agree, is not about whether the totem fell or not. To me, it's about Cobb finding his peace, whether a dream or not, it's HIS reality and it doesn't matter. He's home to his kids, the one thing left for him to live for.
In Se7en when the “sloth” victim opened his eyes and gasped for air…ya know, people describe jump scenes dramatically for effect but when I say I left my couch, I am not even exaggerating 😂 Of all the scary movies I have ever watched, when I think of most effective jump scares, that is where my mind takes me every time. Even now it still gets me no matter how many times I’ve seen it. It’s genuinely a perfect film.
I love how different this list is than the one I have in my head. Makes it so much more interesting how different everyone's thoughts are on these films. Opinions are like assholes but that doesn't mean I have to be 😇
What I love about you cody is you're not so eager to call a movie the worst thing ever made or the best film ever made, you're always honest and Express your opinion
Always dig Cody's vids...he's very candid and real with his reviews. I just wish TH-cam had a feature where you were able to disable someone's background music...that heavy metal made it difficult to focus on what he was saying (yes, I'm ADHD :) ).
I'll take it into consideration. It's very difficult to find background music that works perfectly. Its either a tad distracting or it's barely recognizable and pointless.
@@CodyLeachYT honestly man, it's quite likely that this might just be a "me" thing vs anything you'd need to consider doing differently. In any event, keep up the great reviews/rankings 👍

Cody, I've got tons of respect for you. Especially when you make your case for some films. I enjoy all of your movie reviews even if we disagree on some films. Here's some of my thoughts on the list: Not a big Fincher fan. Have no desire to see any of the bottom 3 films. Love most of Quintin Tarantino's films. Haven't seen Django Unchained or Once Upon A Time In Hollywood yet. I'll watch Jackie Brown sometime this year. Death Proof is one of Tarantino's best. Dark Knight Rises was an overall let down. Batman Begins was slow to start but once Bruce Wayne gets into the Batsuit is when the film gets cookin. Memento is far too confusing to me. I challenge you to review the Director's Cut of True Romance.
This is a hard list!! Do these even have a bad film to their credits. OK maybe Alien 3. Excellent job as always Cody, my favorite of all of these films would be Se7en, but again hard list. Finished it, and I must say good job with a good list. 31 on 31 idea for March, Stephen King adaptions, your views would be extremely interesting to hear.
Hey Cody I know there are more than 31 but I would love to see u guys do a 31 on 31 on Carpenter and Craven films. I’m sure some of the TV movies and such could be trimmed out to get it down to a consensus 31 of the best. I’m sure fans of your channels would love to see this ranking
In my opinion Pulp Fiction beats anything Fincher and Nolan have ever made. Memento and Fight Club are amongst the greatest films of all time. I would argue that Fincher has the overall more impressive body of work but all 3 directors are incredibly talented and versatile. Good video.
Fincher is easily my favorite director. I think most of his films land in the endlessly rewatchable category for me. In defence of alien 3 its a damn miracle that movie even ended up happening, even to the degree of what we got. Plus I love the bleak tone it sets as (what should have been) Ripley's final movie, sure it ended up killing newt and hicks but I believe that was purely studio meddling. I think the reason Insomnia turns so many people off is because they don't want to see Robin Williams in such a dark light.
Oooh exciting!

Excited for this 1! Bummed there wont be a debrief tho....
what an epic intro!!!
In defence of alien 3 its a damn miracle that movie even ended up happening, even to the degree of what we got. Plus I love the bleak tone it sets as (what should have been) Ripley's final movie, sure it ended up killing newt and hicks but I believe that was purely studio meddling. Also the mostly British cast was absolutely amazing, from Charles dance to Ralph Brown all phenomenal actors
love the alternative movie posters you showed. did you looked on purpose for those instead of the original ones?
No I search for a poster and choose the one I like most
@@CodyLeachYT ah then you have a great taste :)
