    Great explanations! Ever heard of the famous Tomas Karlborg combo making the rounds in nearly a month? Your breakdown of contretemps can be a big help for those learning the combo! And speaking of which, can you do beginners’ and intermediate versions of the combo?

      @BalletForAll  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you. I will post a tutorial for that combination at the end of this week. 💖

    fascinating! i have never heard anyone call these steps contretemps before.
    just goes to show how ambiguous balletic terminology is across the different schools.

      Oh absolutely. When I started my studies with RAD after 11 years of training under the cuban methodology I had a hard time adjusting to the way they called the steps that I knew by other names.

    Thank you! I think I learned a version wherein the ankles of the legs and toes of the feet meet in a plie “en l’air”. Like a sousou with a changement. So ronde de jamb, sousou, beat beat, land. But I think we were in a plie in the air. Your video gives me something to start with!

      oh at the moment I can't figure out the step you describe, but yep its possible you learned another version. according to the school or methodology that your teacher follows some steps could have different names and look different as well. and you are most welcome, great to know you have a better idea to some degree of the step. 😀😊

    The first contretemps you showed I learned as being called “jeté passé devant”.

    • @BalletForAll
      @BalletForAll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh I see. I’m going to check my ballet notebook and find jeté passé. I can’t remember the specific characteristics right now. Will be back with better answer soon 😉

    • @DeviVanhon
      @DeviVanhon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BalletForAll if I remember well, it's also in the RAD Intermediate Foundation vocabulary. In the 3rd allegro there is both jeté passé devant and jeté passé derrière.

    • @BalletForAll
      @BalletForAll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The jete passé I know it’s a jump done on the place without transfer of weight. Begins from 5th plié, and does jete, change legs in the air by jeté with the other leg. I can’t remember the exercise you mentioned. I’m going to have a look at it now 😉😏
