I actually go thru there to Shepton Mallet in a Euro 6 DAF regularly, and once you get past Bristol, it's one of my favourite local runs. Twisty, narrow roads thru villages with a heavy load keeping you busy, way more enjoyable than your usual motorway cruise 😁
Oh, and what do you think of the new markings in Pensford? What a waste of money! Only way they're effective is if Tim was coming up the hill and you heard him coming! Traffic lights would be better.

£100, don’t go to London, I used to get charged £300 a day for a 7.5T crane lorry 06plate when we installed inside the ULEZ zone. Worse part was, if we did a night job and went past midnight it was classed as two days . Glad I’m retired now 😀

Tim, whatever you do DO NOT come up to Glasgow City Centre in anything older than Euro6. First day entry into Glasgow is £60, repeat that 5 times in 90 days and you're looking at £960 a day... There's a legal challenge to the expansion of the LEZ as Glasgow City Council's case for the expansion has been dealt a blow. Phase 1 which was buses and HGV's has reduced the pollutants in the city centre to below the level they ascribed to Phase 2 (Cars). So they've shifted the goalposts.

If you would of came of junction 3 of the M32 and cross over the Eaton way and st Philips causeway then up the A4 you would of saved £100. A man from Bristol knows the tricks to save money on clean as zone. When the trailer is painted one photograph will look amazing is if you get a drone and drive over Clifton suspension bridge at night with all lights on it will be amazing. If we know in advance I could try taking far pictures aswell but that bridge always makes good pictures
On the clean air zone point is Linked in but Stagecoach in Newcastle have some old vehicles so they’re paying £50 per vehicle count yourself lucky, Tim safe, travels back

Bristol resident here - we all hate the clean air zone. It's pushing out diesels all together, even Euro 6's. To drive your average diesel car through the CAZ zone, it costs £9 a day, which racks up a lot if you work in the city centre. Even worse if you're a lorry making a delivery, that's £100 extra for every delivery for a company which could cripple small businesses and cause a loss of trade from the city. It was a silly idea that we stole from London and now it's backfiring.
Its all passed on ,every invoice has it itemise, and the cost goes down the chain. We need to wake up because, it is spreading, each area present will expand !!!!!!!!

Gotta agree, its the abnormal load route into midsummer Norton railway, and when ya 65t those roads get steeper and smaller very quickly.....
You can bypass the clean air zone, although bit of a fiddly route in a wagon.

Clean Air Zones are just moving the traffic issues to the out of town areas, that then that justifies them extending the zone further!
Hopefully the 4 series will get built one day and you don’t give up on it
