I used to maintain the Scammels when I served in the REME and if the clutch is adjusted properly, bit of an art, you can change gear most times without crunching
I was also at Haddenham with the Wonderland organ and the 2 showmen engines.
Haddenham steam rally, one of the best around.

Traction engines are definitely up there on vehicles to drive they seem complex but are more simple 😅
And the Mack well a35 is cheaper to run than an ICE and makes no smoke emissions

My mam got to drive a steam engine as a kid. There is a steam rally in a place called Stradbally in Co.Laois Ireland and at the end of the rally there have a race of a kind across the main field and the engines have to be driven by women.
