Durga is the representative of Shakti. He Describes every form of god is a part of Akal Purakh and Guru Maharaj has Diversified different forms of gods as elements of this world. Example Durga as power. He never worshipped any Devi or Devta. Guru Maharaj was only devoted to Akal Purakh.

There is no direct or indirext bhakti.
Bhakti can be done in any form but according to your convenience you will say that sanatan dharma is only idol worshipping.
But the fact is hindusim is monotheistic plus polytheism which then includes panthiesm views as also.
Sanatan dharam has one symbol om 🕉 which refers to the Supreme being the all pervading or parbrahm parmeshwar.
In bhagwad Geeta shri krishna had himself said that he be worshipped in sakaar or nirankaar form it the same. By the way there are many beautiful shabads on shri krishna by bhagats and gurus as well. Just search it.
