So, Sony released a survey that showed that 40 million people still use PS4 on a weekly basis. Add to that all the PS5 users who will be able to use the ps4 version of Marvel Fighting collection, and it just makes sense. You’re not going to benefit from the higher visual fidelity the PS5 can deliver on these old games, anyway.
In terms of the Xbox, I didn’t fully understand the explanation Microsoft gave, but they basically no longer have a pipeline in place for porting games that use a certain programming language or something. Again, I know nothing about programming, but there was a technical reason these ports can’t easily come to Xbox one or series x/s consoles, it just went over my head. They would have to put together a team specifically to port this one game and they said it would be cost prohibitive to do so. I think Capcom also probably looked at how their previous fighting game collection sold and decided it just wasn’t worth the effort. Apparently, the fighting collection with all the dark stalkers games did very well on switch and ps4 came in second. I think Xbox users are so used to games dropping on gamepass that they just don’t buy a lot of games.
Thank you for breaking this down for me, I guess I didn’t know you could play PS4 games on 5. I’m not super into consoles because I played them my entire childhood, having replica arcades is more of a draw for me now but playing Punisher online really interests me. I might cave lol

Phil, great video. I also agree with you that Arcade 1up is NOT over. They made some bad choices and they are feeling the pain right now and they must face the music for the choices. So, I can understand the slow down and rehashes...run with what you brung is there motto right now as those are the cash cows that will help dig them out of the hole they made for themselves. I still think though that they are missing the bus on not releasing any new 70's or 80's cabs as those are the cabs that got them where they are. I bet if we look, their biggest disappointment cabs were made in the 90's.

Not yet, these are floor models until they decide to sell them. Marketplace has a few with stools in the area I think could get for under 300
I was going to buy the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 cab from Amazon, but now, I am not so sure.
There is some mod kit for gen 1 and gen 2 cabs, where you install a new set of joysticks and connect the Nintendo Switch, so I am semi-tempted to go that route.

I got the Arcade1 Up Marvel Super Heroes cabinet and it only comes with Marvel Super Heroes, X-men children of the atom and the Punisher. When they just announced this new lineup fighting collection coming to the switch and ps4 I was mad! I’m selling my arcade 1 up now.
You should get a good price for your Marvel cab it’s a rare one. If I didn’t have a MVC2 cab I’d go the Capcom collection there’s so much value for 50
Granted, A1up haven't been to the latest trade/tech shows, lately, and John D got canned, or resigned, but I think the fact we're still seeing products at nominal prices indicates they're not about to be sunsetting anytime soon. It's more likely they're undergoing some major restructuring, and organization, as well as preparing to phase out certain product lines, in favor of newer ones that require a totally different manufacturing method. Time will tell. Thanks for the video. :)

I have a Pandora box that has punisher. I used to have the marvel super heroes countercade because I couldn’t find the full size arcade1up
I’m in that dilemma that even though I have ways to play it too I want a dedicated Punisher look. I might reskin a SF2 and put Marvel pcb in and just go with that.
Penguin is cool. The art work is old school nice. I own the 32" infinity board. I'm happy I picked it up 2021 for my wife's Christmas present. I got it for us to play board games with our grandkids online. You need two infinitys but it's good family time from two states.

I hope 1up can pull a rabbit out of their ass and bring us a new holiday lineup for 24/25. I like the form factor I like the look of the games and I like LCD flat panel displays.
We stayed at a b&b arcade and they had about 20 machines. In the bedroom were two pinball including Halloween which was cool, but monstrously oversized for a typical sized house let alone a bedroom. And while it was neat to play the actual arcade games that were there, I was reminded that I don't like CRT. I found them to be poor visual quality made my eyes kind of hurt and 20 machines in a small space has a ton of EMF.

As a die hard Brewers fan and staying up late last night to see the Padres beat them was tough. Seeing one of my favorite young tubers sporting the hat this morning was a gut punch. 😂 The Marvel vs Capcom Fighting collection is coming to PS4 and playable on PS5. The reason it is not coming to XBOX is that the MT framework that the games are built on. Apparently they don’t have a way to cost effectively port games with older MT framework. Arcade 1up needs a home run in the worst way possible. Hoping they release something new . I’m tired of rehashed games. I’m still rocking games with risers and have not even delved into deluxe with this company. I am going to continue to sit back and mod existing cabinets because I have no confidence in their leadership to give us anything we really want .

Arcade 1up kind of needs to think about lowering prices and releasing some new stuff. Their cabinets are boring at this point. I love the ones that I have, but how many times do I need Galaga and Pacman?

Arcade 1up was just starting to dial in their products. I own the original mk machine and the latest mk release is much more refined. The fast and furious table was kind of whack how the split it into two games for some reason. They really should have made a daytona usa or sanfrancisco rush table. Their pinball tables were decent on sale

That’s a really good point that explains why it was 499 compared to the 599. I heard 800 were preordered before 4/26, I’d guess half of them sold.

Regarding the Marvel v. Capcom, I also feel the same way. Xbox has traditionally had the best online connectivity and environment ( despite the CoD community) in my opinion. I play ALL third party games on Xbox because they perform better especially online. I play Nintendo games on the Switch and PS5 on PS5. It just doesn’t make sense to play it online on the Switch.
I can’t do it either :) maybe PS4 if it’s our only online option by January.
PlayStation 5 can play PlayStation 4 discs, ps4 can’t play ps5 discs. So it makes sense for Sony to release it on PS4 because of the multitude of people that own a PS4 system
I’m tempted to maybe buy a PS4, I can’t believe I’m thinking it but online Punisher is worth it.

Hey Phil it’s a new all-time high daily video record 🎉 you’re an inspiration. I don’t think arcade1up is dead per-say but I believe mvsc2 other than the arcade form factor is obsolete with the announcement. The biggest complaint of arcade1up’s online multiplayer is the lack of player base and poor matchmaking. I think these next few months going into the holiday season will show whether arcade1up is truly dead or not. But as of right now I feel there’s nothing on their end to get excited about.
P.S. I would take what John D says with a big grain of salt. The guy doesn’t shy from the limelight he loves the attention even making his own section on their Facebook page when he no longer is with the company. He’s done some egregious things while working for arcade1up towards their customers and our community.

MvC ps4 probably cause they did the beat em up on ps4 so easy and cheaper while still being fully compatible with ps5. The xbox thing is odd. I'm more pessimistic than you and I just can't ignore the lack of A1UP products and silence. Far too long for both. The mvc collection isn't the biggest issue it's them themselves. Phil, imo a lot of companies are being deterred away from Xbox because games just don’t sell on Xbox. Games sell on pc, PlayStation, and switch. The Xbox sells game pass, and their users now expect the games to be free, or just wait until it is. Also the ps5 will play ps4 games, faster loading times too btw.

Hey PhilO, AngelO is asking me what ALP 4KP are you getting? I told her you were leaning Star Trek. The capcom games will play on PS5 hopefully but Im getting it on steam. I have both and my PS5 isnt getting much use after Spiderman, the Xbox X with Gamepass ultimate is the best console right now, playing a ton of Starfield and love that game. A1up is in real trouble right now until they show so something soon, Atgames has been around since 2001, they aren't going anywhere. If A1up goes tits up they are only to blame, look whos running the company. Funny you mention litter, I use pine pellets from Tractor Supply and its super clean no mess.

I don't get the hype for those Arcade1up machines. They're not real arcade machines that you'd find set up at public venues. They look like they're half the size of them; especially with the screen.
It's a gimmick to wow your friends when they come over in the ruse that you have a real "man cave".
Maybe for some, but I buy for nostalgia I’ll never get the full size in my home especially upstairs in my spare bedroom. They may not be for everyone but there’s something for everyone in retro gaming and at the end of the day we’re all passionate about it. Thanks for watching!
1up may not be dead per say but if all they're going to do is recycle pcbs with different skins it might as well be dead because who is going to keep buying the same games over and over again. We still havent even seen there standby titles this year like mk and sf reskins.
They havent put a youtube video out in 8 months, we havent had a new title in forever and the 2 guys in the company who had passion are gone and it shows tthey havent done anything since.
We will see if James is right but im sure they consider 2 new cabs ms pacman xl and that pacman br which to meand most don't consider that new titles just reskins in different bodies.
If they did go under by next year i wouldnt mind if this is all theey're doing going forward but i would of liked to see a updated turtles/xmen and make the sports game 2 players versions. But now i even doubt that will happen.
If something isn’t announced in quarter 3, yea we’re probably in trouble. I’d keep getting reskins like Marvel and Turtles until I had everything and by that time we would be all done buying. Definitely need something new, I hope the strategy was sell inventory until July August and give them something new :)

@@PDX7 lmao I had too man. So as it turns out, my car has special connecting rods that you can't get on Rock Auto or any other auto parts store. I found that out the other night. He's been using the gm part number, as well as the vin number. The people on the other end were trying to say the n/a and the supercharged engines have the same connecting rods. They are special made and built stronger in the supercharged models. So I basically have a performance supercar. Lol Anyway these last two he ordered will hopefully be the correct ones this time. Please be as it is close 120 degrees every day now here that it's officially summer. And I'm baking on the way to work every day. Heck at 11pm when I got off work it was still 96 degrees!
I'm not going to be the one to throw doom and gloom as I've pretty much stayed out of the Arcade1up drama. But since they've changed ownership they haven't been the same. And the fact there hasn't been any new cabinets and we are almost coming up on July, doesn't look good for the company in general. Hopefully they are not going under as they have brought back a lot of great and fun memories!
