He's touchy about the Misfits in this interview because from 92 onward is when Jerry started the lawsuit that wasn't resolved until about 95. When a case is ongoing you cant talk about it. Ratchman actually was on thin ice, because the last thing a person wants to talk about is a subject relating to a person suing you.
RavnerRavner That's a fairly savvy strategy not to discuss legal matters when a case is pending or on-going. Of course... Glenn needs to get off his high-horse when he knows that the majority of his Danzig fans have also been long-time and Misfits and Samhain fans. That said... this was about the third interview that Rikki had with Glenn in about a year and a half and each time he asked Glenn about the Misfits... and each time... Glenn was always uncomfortable discussing that subject. And if Rikki knew that Glenn had a legal case pending... he shouldve known better than to ask questions on live TV that were uncomfortable for Glenn at the time.
I went to those Danzig Halloween shows at Irvine Meadows and they were SICK!!! So much fun, the kids were going nuts and they had ENORMOUS Bonfires way way back on the lawns just like he said, which looked Satanic as Hell and just cool and fun. I can't IMAGINE them allowing that shit EVER AGAIN!!!
godfatherNYC I'm sure that Irvine Meadows shows in the early 90's were incredible. I bet the crowd went nuts when the lights went out and the intro-music for "Overture of the Rebel Angels" began... and no doubt the crowd went nuts. Besides those epic bonfires... do you remember any highlights from the show that you witnessed that stuck with you??
I was at the show with White Zombie and Kyuss, epic show! I remember the big fires in the lawn section, it was crazy. I still have their autographs from the meet n greet at Tower Records. Man, I miss the 90's
Those 90's meet n greats were great! I met Danzig, Slayer, White Zombie and many more bands that way or by simply waiting out near the busses after a show. Miss the 90's indeed.
I worked at a radio station in the mid 90's and we had Danzig in for a meet N greet before his show that night. The guys was extremely nice and outgoing. He just loved fucking with Rikki and putting him on the spot.
I love how reluctant on Glenn to talk about the Misfits. Wow. I forgot that at one point he refused to even talk about them & now he's performing their songs again.
Awesome interview, he actually has a sense of humour and isn't being a total douche. Cool to watch. Laughed when he pointed at the gargoyle and said "Riki's date for halloween!"
My friends and I were longtime Misfits/ Samhain fans and we watched this interview when it originally aired. As soon as Rikki brought up The Misfits we were all like "OH MY GAWD WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING??" 😂🤘🍻
The Black Aria albums were fantastic. Something quite different but yet very moody. Hell, I think I am the only one, but I absolutely loved the Blackaciddevil album - a completely different style for Danzig and just thought it was great. Also, Danzig is one of those bands that can not even tour but still sell a shit ton of their back catalog as well as his upcoming cover EP which I am looking forward to
You're right. And actually, I didn't like Blackaciddevil much when it came out, but now I really do appreciate it and like it. I really don't think he's ever made a bad album. I'm a HUGE fan, and I listen to all of the Danzig albums a LOT to this very day.
Its funny how all the unexperienced kids label men who are honest in what they do and say (like danzig , he doesnt give a shit about what people think of him) as douchebags. Rules of society dont apply to these men , thats why they are so interesting even if they are downright evil. One should always appreciate the honest.
Watching this video, I did not expect a powerful flashback to the time my parents took me to this very restaurant for my birthday when I was a kid... Weird. Oh, and cool interview, too, I guess.
Wish the acoustic performance Danzig did at Riki's bday party in the 90's was properly recorded and released. He did blues tracks "Hoochie Coochie Man" and "Spoonful" and some Elvis. Even the poor quality clip I heard sounded amazing.
He did “One Night” & “I’m the One” as well. I’ve been searching for it forever, have you managed to find any clips from it? They used to be on TH-cam a while ago
@@balladofthebroken7569 only heard the poor audio clip of “One Night” but can’t find it anymore. Glenn sounded amazing from what I could hear. Think it’s time for Glenn and Jerry Cantrell to put out that blues album lol..
@@seanB81 Yeah, in that small club and with the stripped down acoustics you could hear his voice belt out. I hate that he and his team strip down videos of Misfits, Samhain, Danzig posted for copyright. A lot of fans are just eager to hear
Everyone who's like "Glenn is so chill here, what happened??" Guys, he got fucked over. Jerry Only screwed him over. Also people making dumb memes with the cat litter picture and jokes about "Mother". Glenn is a fucking legend and has spent his entire life creating shit for his fans and gets made fun of and screwed over constantly. I would be pissed off and defensive too.
People say he was touchier in these days, but his sense of humor when Riki brings up the Misfits is a thousand times more playful than he is these days when a mildly sore subject comes up. It was obvious that he didn't want to talk about the Misfits in these days, but the guy is over the top serious about himself anymore and it sucks. I can only imagine it's a defense mechanism against people who want to talk about Misfits reunions, being punched, or screaming "MUTHAAOW" in his face, but still.
Where can I watch the 'Its coming down' mv they were talking about? o watched the regular one where it's just danzig performing🤷🏽♀️ but I wanna see the real content so
Glenn appears as if he doesn't take this interview/appearance seriously. you can sense some kind of animosity in this video. i bet Glenn was seriously pissed at the Misfits slip. Glenn would have slammed him to the floor when he picked the chair up if he could have got away with it.i always thought it was funny about how hard Glenn Danzig always acted.
I like to see Glenn like this. Light hearted, joking, easy to talk to.
Yeah me too.🎉🤘💡🌟💖🤑👍👽😁🌟
He is like that when he is drunk. Fun drunk.
@@shawnrickman9217drunk people doesn’t have that much clarity
He's in such a good mood because it's Halloween. Duh, why wouldn't Danzig be happy on the day of the dead?
A tip : watch movies on flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.

I've been wanting to re-watch this interview for ages; thanks for posting it!
Man I miss the old Headbangers Ball
Me too!
+Furious George Is there a new one?
No...MTV brought back for a bit but it just wasn't the same

Agreed.
I met him back then, I have a beautiful picture with him.
He is the hubba hubba man lol
@Kristyn Dodge You look like a tired grandma.
Danzig is always fighting to not smile.
danzig always has the coolest jackets...he makes Riki's jacket and his existence-- look extra flamboyant.
Irvine Meadows in O.C was one of tht best big venues. I miss those days.
I would trick or treat the hell out of Danzig's house

I like a lot of things about this video, but the part where Glenn looks at his fingers after picking his ear may well be my favorite. He is too cute.
I was at the Irvine Meadows show in 1992. Kyuss and White Zombie opened. Good shit.
When MTV was watchable
did glen just smile
Danzig, White Zombie n Kyuss...godamn.
The early 90's were awesome.
You can tell Glenn loves Rikki! lol
I think they are boyfriends xd
Every thing was going fine..... until Ricki DARED to mentioned the Misfits!!!
Rikki made that same mistake asking about misfits in earlier interview... he just knew how to push Glenn's buttons
R.C Jones Watch it, watch it! You’re treading on thin ice, ricki!
Hello Glenn
Well he's smiling a lot

Wish he'd tried and got knocked the fuck out again. 😁
Danzig kinda looks like he could have some native American blood.😊🐺🦬🐎🦅
Lol he's so giggly, or stoned lol
Danzig only used as a teen
Woah man he mentioned kyuss
Kyuss ruled!
The punk and heavy metal Jim Morrison himself
Now if all the librarians looked like this, the kids would read more😂🤣😂
@HardAsARock222 thumbs up for the most exquisite choice of words and they absolutely fit.

Oh yeah, I was probably 13 and watched this live...late at night on Saturdays.

He wasn't putting down Pearl Jam He was talking about Creed.
creed wasn’t even around at this time.
He was talking about stone temple pilots who incidentally ripped off a danzig riff.

Stone Temple Pilots. They were breaking out around then
