      I remember one time, in an history exam, there was only like.... 10 questions
      multiple-choice questions. Easy.
      But the last one was an essay question XD
      Some people were losing their mind but that was actually easy for me.

      Paul Wagner Luckily in physics (I guess upper level), everything is written in symbolic form (mostly Greek letters) so tracing back to that negative sign just takes a bit of work. It was known in my class that our very intelligent, but sometimes too excitable, Ukrainian physics professor would most likely have missed a negative sign somewhere, which was then given as an exercise for us to find that mistake

  • @PaulaYuanEA
    @PaulaYuanEA 3 ปีที่แล้ว +83

    Random funny story about theory: I was taking my RCM Advanced Harmony exam a few years back. There are 4 questions, where question 1 is writing counterpoint, question 2 and 3 are SATB chorale/harmonization/harmonic analysis style, and question 4 is where they give you an opening of 2 bars and then force you to write a 12 bar piece following the opening, with certain restrictions on modulations and cadences. It's supposed to take 3 hours, which seems long, until you start writing it. Anyways, at some point I was getting pretty worried about time, and then I noticed something: one option (there are multiple options for the questions) for question 2 used the same excerpt as another option for question 3. I immediately proceeded to transpose my answer for question 2 onto question 3, and gained back a lot of time for myself. In all my 17 years of living, that was probably the biggest-brain move I've ever made on a test/exam.

    When listening to a song, or playing with a band or writing a song, I can make this stuff out pretty fast.
    When I sat for that exam after grade 5 practical, the only music I heard in my head the whole time was a freaking Kesha song for some reason.

    I'm being way too proud of knowing what "enharmonic" means rn
    As a native German : "Ausdruck" can mean "expression", for example "Gesichtsausdruck" means "facial expression" so technically, you're not wrong.

      @@shxtney The pronunciation is not bad. Their Ausdruck is a bit harshly pronounced, but it's not really wrong. At the end the sentence "Ich bin spiele Geige mit Ausdruck" means "I am play violin mit Ausdruck", the correct sentence would be without the "bin" :)

German is a really difficult language even native speakers get confused with it. So if you make mistakes, don´t let yourself down because of those, I make them constantly. Good luck with learning :)
