It is Halloween Night - Monday 31 October 2016 as I type this. We remember Paul Daniels tonight. He died on 17 March 2016. We remember his talent and charm as one of the world's best magicians. RIP.
Thanks for this video. These old programmes show what a fine entertainer Paul Daniels was back in the day. I enjoyed this, but the Halloween special from '87 is better. It finishes with the 'Iron Maiden' stunt, where the spiked door slams shut on Daniels, the audience are told to leave in an orderly manner, the credits roll in silence, and half of Britain is left wondering what the hell is going on. Can't see the BBC doing anything like that these days.

This is Janet greening. Here I think Paul daniels is a brilliant artteast an exilent performer and is sadly mist all though he has been gone for a number of years now I want say how meny as I lost. Some one the same year. But Paul brought laughter when there were tears happiness when there was sadness and intreag and mistery in his halloween and that's why there want be another like him Paul you may be gone. But you will never be forgotten. God bless you. And your family. Debbie. Martin and Paul Jr and all of you if I have missed any one am sorry.
I really enjoyed seeing this show again, 28 years ago it came out!! shows what a good presenter and performer Daniels was...a lot more inventive than stuff nowadays and the witchcraft stuff is always interesting. yep, they wouldn't maybe do this sort of stuff today, with Qui ja boards and living and dead test, which may be unsuitable for modern PC audiences. You could do more stuff like this in the 80's. Great having the atmosphere of the castle .I miss this sort of magic show being done , but maybe no one can replace Daniels at the moment.Yeah, the 1987 show was a magic classic where he caused controversy by pretending to kill himself on Halloween. You cant do that nowadays on telly but it was a better tv era.That show is on the internet on another video site and was very original . I guess the fascination with ghosts continues with all these other reality type ghost shows, but this spirit stuff was somewhat new in 1987/88, albeit in the magic show context.the thing is I cant see Dynamo or others being as good as Daniels was at presenting TV.

(Actually mate that was a little harsh, I'm sure you do it will; just magic is an act, an illusion, an entertainment. I can't see how that really conflicts with being a Christian).
It's Janet for the last time tonight I just want to say I may be wrong but I think I Watched one where he was tied to a rack with a saw and he had to set his self free where he ask do you want me to talk well u know what his captives seid but I may be thinking of some thing or some one else. But he was werring pa whit jackit.
Janet. Greening here there is danger in every job but mergician put them selves out there in order to entertain us all but but there has to be safety involved. Because it wouldn't risk there own lives a all though people like Harry houdini. And the chines one that got shot and may I say about Brandon Lee and the resent one the photographer I think it pwlas on a film set I think it was all to entertain us and some jobs to keep us safe that's why we love magic because it's what they do . Like Paul daniels & David copper field & and of course Harry houdini Evan the high trapeese artist has danger the jugaler when he juggles with knives. It's all a risk. Of danger just to entertain us.

i don't think PD's performances were that good. actually, very bad, rambling, and boring.
