At this point, I think we can all agree that Sonic reached Ultra Instinct, the way he simply slaps the dark energy, crushes Supreme with a snap of his finger, attacks with godlike speed in one second, and when he kicked the titan in the air while throwing multiple ghost punches and kicks, sending the boss even higher with one last hit to the sky.
Ultra instinct? He legit giving the enemies the db fusion treatment, the whole fighting style felt mostly like Vegito and some moments it felt like Gogeta ssj4 and blue 💀

That hyper sonic model is so clean, I hope that’s the model if hyper ever comes back
I feel that hyper sonic would not have been a problem to put here, since the power could’ve been lost if used at full power.
It’s a bit of a retcon since the super emeralds wouldn’t be here obviously and that differs from the the ancients and whatnot. However since the cyberspace and the corruption captured the memories of the ancients, you could reason that the cyber power pulled Sonic’s memories and left it vague enough to bring back the hyper form. And with the warning from master king Koco, they’d have a perfect excuse for Sonic to lose that power in the next game
Nah, if you're gonna retcon Hyper back in, you might as well connect it to Hyper-Go-On. Probably Final Color Blaster + Super Sonic.
Gives a good reason for the colors, and is very thematically appropriate for the Wisps. I hope IDW does this at some point.

Two methods of achieving the same form isn't impossible.
Problem is the "super emeralds" never actually left since Sonic & Knuckles.
If you go by the shape of diamonds then in Sonic 1-3 the emeralds were actual emerald shape (a quare/hexagon shape), then in Sonic & Knuckles whenever you upgraded one to its super form they took on the round/triangle shape. In every game after they have still been portrayed in that same shape and never returned to the smaller "emerald" shape.
Hyper Sonic only exists as an excuse as to why you had to collect the same 7 emeralds again within the same game, but they've basically always been the Super Emeralds since Sonic & Knuckles, so yeah, if anything Sonic powering the form up further here should have simply been the return of Hyper and no further explanation would be needed, just him once again tapping into the full power of the emeralds since they're the same ones
@@philipandrews9938 Sonic Origins definitively retcons this. In the animated scenes for Sonic 1 and 2, they had the later designs, with the classic ones being confirmed to be from the top.
The Final Horizon made sonic frontiers ascend to level 100 and made it more fun

@@aethermaster1153I think Morio Kishimoto also really tried, but unfortunately Ian and Morio had to settle with “Super Sonic 2”, or Cyber Sonic, if you will. I really wish Sega would understand our need for him to come back. Honestly, if Ian and Morio convinced Sega to bring back playable characters, they’ll manage to convince Sega to bring back Hyper Sonic eventually… hopefully. Also, I don’t know why Sega doesn’t realize that they can make much more profit with Hyper Sonic being in the game.

Still don't understand why it was necessary to destroy Supreme.
If The end is destroyed Supreme would just shut down.
Because no one controlled it.
They destroyed it in the base game with Supreme/Sage sacrificing herself, here they took over supreme to kill them so they had to make sure it couldn't. They couldn't destroy The End as long as it had control over supreme due to having limitless power to fuel it, so would have to take 'em both out at the same time. If they stopped it from overriding its systems the first time, then maybe Sage could've used its blaster to destroy it but Sonic only went as far as he did with the corruption because Supreme was being controlled
Each titan kept sonics friends stuck in cyberspace, destroying them freed his friends

Honestly, Hyper Sonic would have been a better choice for the final boss instead of just Super Sonic with blue eyes and more particles.

Could still be a game mechanic, A visual representation for the player in gameplay; It's really hard to say. It looks so funny either way.
It's less "uses rings to transform" more "uses rings to maintain the transformation". But it's still game mechanics
The cutscene can actually kill you if you don't have enough rings, instead you drop rings just once and you die in that case

Well, the master emerald isn’t here to power up the chaos emeralds.
I’ll admit it would’ve been quite thematically appropriate to have hypersonic since this game reveals the chaos emeralds are from the ancients and the master emerald is from earth, meaning that it would be two powers coming together to defeat a common enemy
However, you could say the same thing about cyber sonic

Ian Flynn actually proposed to SEGA to bring back HYPER Sonic, but they instantly shot it down because they didn't wanna re-work power scaling.
I know a lot of people thinks we got a pretty basic "form" but, Imo, this was just a power up with cyber energy, they could've just kept it the same as regular Super Sonic even, it also is just a regular power up and not a new form .
I think the aura and eyes are enough but, most important, what makes it shine is the fighting style and behaviour

If Sega wasn't actively trying to deny sonic history:
For those who were upset that Hyper Sonic was not showcased, so was I...but...
Keep in mind the following things:
- The Chaos Emeralds have to become Super Emeralds, which can *only* be done with the Master Emeralds present
- The sparky Hyper form can be a bad sight for people who are not prone to it
- Kishimoto stated he does not want Super Sonic to lose its value. (For example what SSJ became in DBS)
My solution for this wouldve been to give Sonic:
some sort of false Hyper form with only the white colour to it (or very bright/light yellow) without the form flashing other colours. Master Coco then just unlocking the Hyper form sign seeing that Sonic has a deep potential to go Hyper one day and therfor granting him the power to tap into its orphant form. How is that? Heck, even white coloured eyes wouldve been better to refer to Hyper Sonic potential than the blue eyes Super Sonic we got right!?!?!?!?!
(Because were not getting Hyper soon, so just some sort of false Hyper form)
But we got Super Sonics hidden potential form / cyber energy. Which is also not bad, but I think we all wanted the Hyper form..
Another way they could've done it is through Cyber Space. Cyber Space has been confirmed to alter the world using the memories of the user. Hence why there are just sky rails, platforms, etc floating around. They could've had a way for Sonic to use this to produce the Master Emerald to enhance the Chaos Emeralds to bring out Hyper. Then obviously after the game, Sonic would lose access to Cyber Space since they leave the islands, rendering Hyper once again lost. If a fake Chaos Emerald in SA2 can be used to activate Chaos Control then a fake Master Emerald can be to enhance the Chaos Emeralds. As for the Hyper form, to avoid any complications of it's seizure inducing look, literally alter the form to basically this model. White fur with multicolor energy glow.
The original plan was to have sonic achieve hyper literally the same way he achieved cyber but for whatever reason they still scrapped the idea.
Also Takashi Izuka stated years back that the super emeralds were just a bonus on sonic 3 & knuckles for players who already had the chaos emeralds. That’s why we won’t ever see hyper again at least in that way and if u ask me it makes sense. If the chaos emeralds supposedly have unlimited power how can they be “transformed” into super emeralds?

The parry had him close his arms throughout implying he really did pull a Super Vegito and used only kicks.
I would say, this piwered up form of Sonic remind me to the confident levels and bad ass aura of Gogeta SSJ4 or Vegito Blue...its so awesome!!
Ikr, the whole fighting style is like Vegito's, the finger snap reminds me of Gogeta ssj4's death stare, the last punch he throws with the hand extended and the palm looking upwards feels like UI Goku or ssjb Gogeta and the pose when he is shot at The End reminds me of Gogeta blue exploding Broly right before throwing a kamehameha

Cyber sonic was cool I guess(even tho it's just super sonic with blue eyes), but why couldn't they just bring back hyper sonic. Like seriously you crate a game involving the mysterious of the chaos emeralds, have super sonic play a bigger role than ever before, introduce a new source of power that sonic could optain, and have a final battle against the living embodiment of evil or whatever the end is. This mod here shows what Ian Flynn truly wanted for frontiers end game to look like.
Edit: I know I sound negative but just want to point out that what we got is still fine and appropriate the work the team has done

I feel your frustration on this. I'll never understand Sega's decision to turn down Ian Flynn's proposal to bring Hyper Sonic back in frontiers. The opportunity was there and they just let it go. Instead, we have Sonic become a literal Super Saiyan with the blue eyes. I enjoyed the dlc and thought the developers did a great job but I'm not really a fan of how Super Sonic is literally just a Super Saiyan now and It's just disappointing that they wasted an opportunity.
Guys hear me out here in the main game you beat all the bosses as super sonic but on the final island you stay super for the whole time (or you can transform whenever you want) and instead of collecting the emeralds you power up them into super emeralds and fight the final boss as hyper sonic ngl that would be some good incorporation of hyper sonic.
I know we all loved Super Sonic 2. But the hype of the sonic fans including myself would it gone off measure if instead of SS2 we would got hyper sonic back
Ah yes. The form that actually should've been used instead had Ian Flynn got his way. "Oh we dont want to render SS useless by making a new form!" Sega...you literally just used Hyler Sonic but kept the Super Sonic colors and changed his eye color....and you made it to where he cant use that power again. Which you could've done the same with bringinf back Hyper Sonic. I swear Sega be taking stupid juice sometimes.

But seriously, it's not hard to bring Hyper in without it invaildating Super. Assuming they keep the conditions for it the same, you need the regular Emeralds, which then need to be placed on the Master Emerald shrine, where they can then be empowered to access Hyper. So if the Master Emerald is out of commission, or the story isn't taking place around Angel Island, or there simply isn't time to head there to make things happen, Hyper can't be used. Whereas Super just needs the Chaos Emeralds and nothing more.

We got to hope that the mods can be updated as good as they are they don't appear during the transformation sequence cutscene or when Sonic gets hit and reverts back to base when the Enhanced Super Sonic form mod stays but disappears when he transforms back
Those cutscenes may be pre-rendered. If so, there's nothing you can do

I'm honestly just sick and tired of hearing people say "it's free so I can't complain". Since when is free an excuse for mediocrity? Honestly, my biggest gripe isn't the constant crashing and unfair difficulty. It's, the new ending, while Sage living is much better and fits more of a Sonic game, it just plays into Ian Flynn's sick fantasy of having everything in the Sonic franchise be canon. If they wanted a good ending then just make it a good ending it's not right to make us work and sit through Sage's death just to be told that it possibly isn't even real.
I said this multiple times in the past but I don't see Sage fitting into future games, there could be a comical aspect with Orbot and Cubot, but that's it. If she retains her body she will actually be a liability to Eggman during missions as we see she is growing fond of Sonic as a hero... Literally, slowly, becoming another defective failure like a man's other robots... All this could have been midigated if she wasn't written as Eggman's fake robot daughter.
Don't get me wrong, I love Sage, but her losing her body and becoming an AI voice anime trope was probably the better way of doing this if that is even the Canon ending as she should remain a one-time character. I hate Inn Flynn he is a terrible writer... 🤬😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬
I prefer the original ending. Because the shooter fight being hard initially at least without being straight BS like the Supreme fights, and as someone on another video explained, Sage, who usually acts and speaks "logically" like a robot, acting on emotion top pilot Supreme against The End and sacrificing herself to weaken its dying explosion feels like a better development of her character than what New Horizons did.
Oh believe me, a LOT of this game would've been better without Sage being Eggman's AI daughter.
The End is a lot like Dark Matter from Pokémon Super mystery dungeon

So only three beings have been able to successfully force Sonic out of his Super Form. Knuckles, Eggman, and The End.

Actually no, it's not canon, and Sega didn't use it again because it was just an extra, and Sega doesn't see the need to use it again.

I highly doubt that Hyper sonic would ever return, it actually requires a lot of determined circunstances like the super chaos emeralds from the master emerald.
This is my headcanon, And no one is going to make me think otherwise, not to say that Super Sonic 2 is bad, it's really cool, but knowing that Sega didn't allow hyper return in the dlc make me sad

I just bought the game, should I do the base game or New horizons thing first? (Not quite sure how upd 3 works tbh lol)
Finish the base game first, you can’t access the 3rd dlc until the final island anyway but they enemies are MUCH MUCH TOUGHER, even at max level they take awhile to beat, and that’s not including the boss’s and the trials

There needs to be a manual targeting patch so it's easier to hit the cord I had to fight this boss 5 times cause of the targeting still a great fight just the mechs are eh
It's more of the fact that supreme's face acts like a shield. You need to do the dodge to fly around the "shield" in order to properly target the cord. Like with knight or any of the blocking enemies

@@scourgious6182 you're welcome. I was using supreme as a punching bag for over an hour before I figured it out. So much so that once I did figure it out, I had my routine so perfect, I just unleashed hell on the thing
How come everyone is able to lock on to the cable, I’m having so much trouble with that for some reason
If u think about it they stole shadows “death” and gave it to sonic but just showed him survive that fall. So no way shadow could have died that fall
