My sister and brother in law are raw milk farmers and they just decided they can’t continue because they are not making money even selling at $12 a gallon with 10 cows. They have a super strong work ethic but after buying the 10 cows, all the equipment, building corrals and shelters, jars and buying and growing fodder for them. No profit.
Should pass a law that if you can't milk your own cows and crop alone or with your immediate family or friend, then your too big. 30 years ago, you could make a living on milking 20-30 cows. I ws milking 60 when the milk plant dropped me. Milk price is $12/100lbs less today than 10 years ago. Small dairies can't make it with all the inflation and over priced low quality crap that breaks more often with less money. Soon, it will all be a few huge dairies. The milk plants will be hsppy because they will have so much money, they will only think of getting more. When the next pandemic hits, or major damaging storm, or possibly EMP/solar storm/attack, they will jack the prices even more because it will affect a major percentage of production and distribution.

What book is that? I cannot find. Thanks
Outstanding video! Read "Small is Beautiful: Economics as if People Mattered" by E.F. Schumacher.
