  • Learn how to play craps with the Horseman Craps Strategy. At its core, "The Horseman" is one of the simplest and effective ways to start playing at a table.
    The Horseman is respectful of your bankroll (4-7 units per shooter)
    The Horseman is high performant on very short rolls
    The Horseman can set you up for success on the longer rolls
    And ... it can very easily adapt to your play style or the table conditions.
    If you want to press, collect, ladder, parlay, or try and read the trends, you've got the options built into the core system.
    Good luck and ride hard.

    History of the Development of The Hedgeless Horseman Strategy
    The story goes like this ... John did a thing. Greg from 555 thought it was interesting and put an idea out there, and then we ping-ponged videos for a couple of weeks. Dylan from Skill and Luck popped in to give some great ideas on tweaking it further. Other TH-camrs like Wagermethis and Color Up covered the strategy and since then it's become a standard way of playing for a lot of players ... many of whom who have added their own twists on it.
    ... "Trimming The Hedges" where I was trying to find ways to hedge and get inside bets setup

    ... Can't find the other videos I did between that first hedge trimming idea and this one from Greg, but this is the first time we see the Don't + the Come Bets. This one builds off of my "Come Ladder"
    - 555 Craps 7/24/21 - • Video
    After that one, Greg and I did some videos every other day going back and forth trying to tweak things until it felt right and even looked at a few variations

      I’ve seen that. Very similar. Super simple. Love it. I think you left another comment about adding a DC to the horseman. That basically matches what he does.
      There’s a rhythm difference obviously. This one is more designed (as you’ll see in the coming videos) as a starting point. That’s why we went with 3 right side bets.

    You r explained the worst case of losing the come bets on a 1st throw of a 7. I would have placed a BIG RED bet to cover those come bets

      You're talking about the new point come out roll? Yeah, that's the kryptonite for sure. But hopping the reds is literally handing money to the casino 83% of the time. I'd rather fight the good fight than bleed it out. Even if once in a while that works, over time, it's probably going to cost more.

    Thanks, John, and Happy Thanksgiving! I've been practicing this for the last couple of days on Crapsee. I've played about 250 hands so far. I'm trying to figure out what strategy is best for my random rollers cruising on Princess. So far this is perfect. I play for comps and need to play for about 3 hours and average about $100 a hand. I figure 30-40 hands is my average for 3 hours and for 4 rounds of those so far, I'm averaging about $$250 profit on each. Can't wait to play this on my next cruise in January!

    It looks good but I have played it with the fourth bet as a DC, on a cold table and warm table. Breaks even or wins. Try it that way but only play the 4 units.
    DP-C-C-DC

      I have one that I call the “Southern Border” where I go DC - DC - Come. But the trick is the levels of the bets. That one has a cool rhythm to it.
      The Southern Border, and the basic Come Ladder have been back pocket strategies for me for 30 years.
      Even after all that time, I keep coming back from the more modern and “progressive” ways to play back to these old favorites.
      When Greg (555) and Dylan (Skill and Luck) worked this one out last year it clicked as a great marriage of those. Digging the flexibility

    • @JayAr709
      @JayAr709 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting background. I was not aware of the history associated with the strategy. As you know, John, I am not a fan, here-chiefly as I perceive other means of achieving familiar ends.
      Now, when a shrewd Pass Line bettor blends his progression tactics in such a way that, between passes, he can keep to a scheduled increase and STILL scale the amount of his line flat-so to buy back all his contract Come bet flats in the event of a Comeout seven)-I can applaud the tactic, yes I can.
      But a protection plan that entails flat doubling, and then a new flat doubling-not as a natural parlay of fresh house money, mind you, but just as a means of defending prior flats while grabbing a 1 unit net-smacks of Martingale.
      And looks like a chase, to boot.
      It’s preferential of me, I concede that.
      Certainly I respect that the method is something you regard 30 years trustworthy! and the fact that Greg and Dylan played a role adds merit. 🤷🏼‍♂️

      That’s the play all day strategy. Dc - c - c - dc

  • @neverfox
    @neverfox ปีที่แล้ว

    The whole explanation of spreading the bet sizes just leads to the obvious conclusion that one should already know: the optimal version of this strategy just reduces to placing the DP only, i.e. an infinite spread. There's a reason it's the best bet on the table and you can't improve upon it with come bets. If having the "system" is more fun, great, but that's all it can do.

    • @ProCraps
      @ProCraps  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right, in theory. But the scaled back come bets (4:1 or 2:1 level) allow you some flexibility on a good roll. You still capitalize on the early outs, but if you can squeeze a few hits in there, you get a little bit of protected 6, 7, 8 type of action. Keeps you in the game and focused a bit.

  • @adamjohns5907
    @adamjohns5907 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Used this last night to turn $100 into $700 on a $15 min table. Added odds on most of the come bets and used the field quite a bit successfully. My thought was the come bet will either travel to a point I like or the field will win to place odds.
    Ended up giving some back on a few 5 points.

    • @ProCraps
      @ProCraps  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great outcome. The Horseman generally treads water and grinds a win, not usually seeing huge gains like that. But I can see where the odds really helped you out.

      My stubbornness of sticking with a strategy ended up halving my winnings but still a great night and profit.
      It was my first time sticking with the dark side and was interesting to watch people losing and leaving over and over!

    • @ProCraps
      @ProCraps  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've gone to that after I get myself to even. Either that, or I pull all the right side stuff down and go all odds on the don't.
      I do like having that option for sure.

  • @douglasbrumfield7262

    Why not place odds on the don't?

    • @ProCraps
      @ProCraps  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This strategy allows for that, for sure. The flat bet is the best payout in the house, so I like to maximize that over the odds, but odds are a great play. Generally, I budget the 4 units per shooter with this strategy. If you wanted to up your budget and say it's a flat don't with 2 unit odds and 3 come bets, then by all means, go for it!

  • @iptvclub1575
    @iptvclub1575 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would it be better to go through the DC rather than the don’t pass, that way a shooter can’t keep hurting you. Because you’re not susceptible to the come out 7 on the first role or even after making the point.

    • @CasinoGamingTV
      @CasinoGamingTV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have tried that many times. It does guard you from consecutive losses. But you also miss (and burn) on the PSO, which normally would win you 2+ units. Tradeoffs I guess. Thanks for watching!

      There's a lot of good action on it early, and plenty of ways to bug out of it if you like ... or like I do - go heavier on the 7 as the rolls go on.

    Put $10 odds on the 3 come bets! They aren't working on come-out rolls.

    • @ProCraps
      @ProCraps  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I play it that way quite often. TH-cam doesn’t make this easy, but put out a series of follow up videos on The Horseman and one of them is specifically talking about using odds on the come bets
      This is just the “base” strategy here. It can go in 100 directions after you’re set up.
      My favorite? 4:1 level on the don’t pass and then odds on the come bets. Always working

      You can’t turn off your come bets. Only the odds are automatically off unless called on, but the flat bet is always working
