    I’m another who finds the eng stop feature annoying. I have had a pathfinder for about a week now and I keep forgetting to hit the button to turn that “feature “ off. Saving gas my ass; it’s a way to get me into the repair shop a lot sooner.

      Hi, Metoo…? Does this work for the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder I don’t want to start removing the hole center console to connect a wire in the market to stop it function. Thanks

    Good to know thanks. Only thing I’ll add is to put some dielectric grease or even some wd40 on the conections before you cover them especially if you live in an area that uses road salt.

    The easiest way is to stick something into the bottom of the off switch so the switch is always off. Then every time you start the truck, the Auto Start Stop (A.S.S.) is immediately turned off. Have had the ends of two black tie straps (cut to size) since day one (even before I remove the four stupid low hung steps on the rocker bars) jammed in under the switch with now close to 2500 miles of never having the stupid A.S.S system turning the engine off.
    You will NOT get the flashing IP symbols stating the system is turned off. What you will get is that warning light (hardly noticeable if not flashing in the IP under the speedometer and the yellow light on the switch. NOTHING FLASHES to distract you since most can see the warning stating the system is off. And the warning in the IP and the yellow light are the same as if you manually pushed the switch to turn off the system after the ignition is turn on.
    Just jam then switch close....give it a try.
    All the switch does when it is pushed in, is give a circuit from the BCM (pin 7) to ground (pin 5). The BCM sees the ground signal on that circuit as the switch pushed in.
    A lot easier and NO FLASHING LIGHTS ANYWHERE.
    Try it; nothing to lose. A small folded over piece of cardboard works too, it just shows. The two small cut flush to the switch, end from ties straps are not noticeable.
    If afraid of the dealer saying anything, with a small pin you can remove them when going into service and install again or use new ones on leaving service.

      This works and you can always remove it if you want to quickly return the truck to stock operation. I used a piece of clear, rigid plastic cut to the width of the button. Has to be thick enough to hold the button in. Then just push plastic into the bottom gap. I don't even notice it unless I look carefully.

I thought the guy behind me hit my new truck!! Im still a lil messed up from accident ( mentality). I hate it!! Thanks for the post!!

    This is NOT the wiring for the auto/start stop (A.S.S.) feature!
    This is for the Variable Voltage Charging System (VVCA). This dummies down the vehicles charging system so the alternator does not continuously charge, which in theory reduces the load, which supposedly saves you that .0001 mpg every year 🤣
    Go to club frontier or google the VVCS Nissan Frontier for more info.
    Again, has nothing to do with the A.S.S. feature, which I agree, is just as useless and causes more problems than the few drops of fuel you supposedly save 😁

    • @roby14
      @roby14  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I disagree in part. The Idle Start Stop system works on an "and gate". (If you search electricle And Gate). Multiple things need to be monitored for the ISS system to work. For example: the trans in drive, engine at idle, foot on the brake, engine to temp and in this case ECM able to monitor the charging of the ISS battery. By disconnecting that plug you remove that ability. So the system is deactivated. Again, this is for people that don't like ISS. You don't have to do this. I did it and took my truck to the dealer for service. They didn't even mention it. This is just an FYI for the people who don't like the government regulation forced on the $46k vehicle we just purchased.

    I'm glad my 2022 did not have idle stop. I hate the system, sadly the government had made it mandatory equipment on all new vehicles. Clever simple way to disable it, if the ECM cannot see battery voltage, assumes it is too low, and will disable idle stop. Every vehicle with idle stop has a voltage monitor, and if unplugged will disable idle stop.

  • @TwoPair72
    @TwoPair72 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've gotten into the habit of hitting the off button in my Pathfinder. The system is neat, but it's overly sensitive and annoying as hell. Nissan needs to offer an update to where it will stay off after you shut it off. Take out the alerts and let the display setting as off not be overridden when it engages. There is a slight delay when it restarts at a stop light needs to be adjusted. Also, if you shut it off while it's engaged w/o putting it in Park; there is a delay on when the door will unlock.

    • @roby14

      Not sure but I would look at the battery and if there's a connector on one of the terminals try disconnecting it. The basic architecture should be the same. If it doesn't work put it back. If it works great! Good luck.

    Would changing the switch to a paddle switch that stays in the on or off position work? Or, just jumper the wires behind the switch so they are always connected. Would either of those methods solve the problem?

    • @f5fstop
      @f5fstop 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Either way will work as I stated I jammed a few tie strap ends into the bottom of the switch and for over 2500 miles the system has never activated. You can also remove the back connector and jump a wire between pins 7 signal wire from BCM to pin 5 to ground. When the BCM sees ground on that circuit on pin 5 is shuts the system down!
