Thank you for the extremely detailed review!!!! I was comparing between this very 3 models (down to the specs) and this absolutely helped me with my decision.
I don’t get the part with the pen thing. I just love it to paint on my iPad, I would never even consider to paint on a wobbly screen that I would have to touch only slightly before a too hard push will destroy my line due to the shaking of the display. You also mentioned that 3D software is more compatible with the ProArt, but the major ones I used to use are also available on Mac (Cinema 4D, Blender). Sure, these Nvidia graphics are quite powerful for 3D rendering but it always feels to me more effortless to work with Apple products. And the biggest fail of the ProArt notebooks is Windows. No matter how powerful your PC actually is, Windows will break many workflows with a bright variety of totally random errors and crashes. I’d stick to the MacBook just for MacOS and the Apple Eco system which by itself can help to push your creative workloads. I envy anyone how says he is happy with his creative works on his or her Windows machine, for me it just does not work and I therefore will stay away from it.
I looked at the Asus p16 at Best buy. Screen was beautiful but at 60hz it wasn't very smooth looking which kind of spoils the user experience for me. I got the Lenovo legion 7i. The i9/4060/3.2k model is dci-p3 100% and it has upgradeable ram up to 96gb and second m.2. I got mine on Lenovo outlet for $1250. Build quality is excellent, screen is gorgeous and 165hz, and even with upgraded ram you're coming in cheaper than the Asus. Very premium build as well
60 hz is smooth It's just that 120 hz is smoother mini led is great OLED is greater. Thats an incredible price. With low SSD prices 2 4tb drives are just $300 apiece in raid that's like 13000;Gbs. @afshinj4836 I don't know much about Macs, so first thing I would do is look into if Matlab is compatible with macos. After that, it probably doesn't make a huge difference. The Legion 7i I got could certainly do those things but so could the Asus and the Apple (assuming it's compatible with the OS). So it's really going to be about price point and features. If you want more portable, the Asus g14 should be looked at, but what I really liked about the Lenovos from 2024 is that you could upgrade the RAM and have an extra m.2 slot in both the 5 and 7i. This is great because if you want to upgrade your RAM to 64gb down the road when it gets cheaper, you can. If you want to add a 4tb 990 pro to have ample storage for big files (like I do with photo and video editing) you can. I need to get back into my programming lessons after a brief hiatus (traveling for holidays) to see how I like it, but with the keyboard on the legion - I think it will be a pleasure to work on. Hope that helps.
the ease of bringing my px13 everyday with a small 100w brick just comes to 1.6kg total additional weight on my bag. 60hz for a laptop is fine personally, if i need 144hz that's where my pc comes into play.

You will have to replace battery sooner cause you will go through its cycles faster, other than that, I've had a Windows laptop (Dell XPS 15) for 8 years already and it's still going strong. It struggles with 6K raw video after you color grade and add effects but that makes sense cause its older hardware and it has a very basic GPU, but still very manageable with proxies. It's more about buying a laptop that really suits your needs today and in the near future or you will have to replace it soon even if it is a macbook, which is a mistake I've seen many people make often, they think macs never age so they go with lower specs thinking software optimization will defeat time. They find out that's not how it works pretty quickly.

Trying to decide between the asus zen book 14 and the asus vivobook pro 15. Both OLED. Zen book has touch screen, slightly higher screen resolution, is brighter, has a bit higher system memory ram, and 50% more battery life. But the Vivobook pro 15 has a better camera (5mp vs 2.1) all the ports I’d need like SD card, and has an extra USB A and has a dedicated GPU. This is mostly a school laptop with some minor video editing, and photography, but my biggest concern is longevity. I’ve heard that a laptop with a dedicated GPU won’t last as long as a laptop with an integrated GPU. Is that true? Will one laptop last longer than the other?

Even though the oled is 60Hz refresh, the color/resolution quality is day-night difference compared to IPS. If you do CAD/SolidWorks/Autodesk, the PX13 is the way to go. 32MB+RTX beats the M4. Found out testing it and coming from a more powerful, but memory limited G14. Downside is you'll need a mini USB-C power brick (80W min).

You have to spend over 2k to get into a windows laptop capable of competing with the MBP 14.2 M4Pro ($1,599 today), and you have to stay close to a power outlet to utilize its capabilities. At that point you are basically buying a portable desktop, which is fine for people that want that and aren't concerned with battery life. Otherwise, the 14.2 MacBook M4 Pro will "win" most of these comparisons. Hey, thanks for your review. It's incredible. For me, the best option is the ProArt P16. Because, with the style I like, it's more like... 16 inches. It's better than 14. Also, many people complain about 60 Hz. But for me, not having at least 2 terabytes, and preferably more, like 4, is not okay. For my work. In that sense, the MacBook seems to be... like... very expensive. And also, having less than 48... RAM is not possible. 64 is okay. I'm very impressed by the performance of the MacBook Pro. But for me, this type of format is not okay. Between the screen size and the hard drive. Also, there’s an issue with the ports. For me, 3 or 4 hours of work is fine with the ProArt. Even if it doesn’t have the same appeal as the MacBook. That’s what makes it great.
I’ve been in the market for a new Windows laptop and initially wanted the best money could buy. I placed an order for the ASUS ProArt P16, but after reading about the numerous issues reported by customers, I decided I could no longer justify the purchase-or investing in any high-end Windows laptop anymore. It seems like they all run into significant issues over time, no matter the brand, build quality isn’t the greatest and their longevity just isn’t up to par. So, I’ve finally decided to make the switch to Apple. I’m planning to get a fully spec’d M4 MacBook, I’m willing to pay the premium in $$$ because I feel confident that it’ll be a powerhouse of a laptop that will serve me reliably for the next 5 to 10 years.
I have seen as many dead apple Laptops as windows laptops -dead usb ports, non-working trackpads, faulty keyboards, dead screens etc. I have also seen windows laptops that are still churning along after 7 years.... If you think Apple Laptops dont have issues, you are highly mistaken.
Yes of course, all tech has its issues regardless of brand. But you cannot deny apples build quality and shelf life in the laptop space over windows laptops. They're on a different level
@@David-px5lr LinusTechTips put it this way, we love to compare High end Apple laptops to low end windows laptops and then we throw comments like, "they are on a different build level" Have you compared them to laptops of equal price? Do you know that Thinkpads, latitudes, Xps's kick around for over 8 years and counting, on top of being upgradeable?!
Other than the 60hz refresh rate, what issues are you seeing reported about the p16? The only issue ive seen people complain about is the 60hz refresh rate. Which, i get, but it doesn't make it a bad laptop by any means. Just means it isnt right for people who prioritize high refresh rate displays (like gamers). Your "i want the best money can buy" language is the exact consumer profile apple targets. Their products are outstanding, but they are monstrously expensive for the components they contain. Some people do not mind that tradeoff.
Went with the P16. Will be mostly desktop on a Twelve South Curve stand, docked to a LG 4K 42" monitor via the Asus DC300 docking station! Screw Apple.
Macbook Pro M4 Pro 1 TB is 2399 why ProArt 16 has 32MB / RTX 4070 & 2TB = I you do any gaming the only real choice is the ProArt with RTX4070 & AI DSSL for additional frame generation. The Macbook Pro is BEAST but not when it comes to gaming....
Work provided me a top of the line MBP and its a sloggy mess. Barely works while editing 4k 60fps footage. It doesnt work at all if you throw any graphic work in there. My pc i built years ago performs better. Maybe i got a crappy unit, but i still wont ever champion Apple. Overly expensive garbage that has such a restrictive OS.
I hate Apple for the closed natured of their system, poor third party device support, lack of upgradability and repairability. I hate MacOS for its clunky interface out of 2000s and poor software choice. But even more than these two I hate noise. And my MSI Creator with its tinnitus fans screams into my ears "Buy a Macbook" every time I run anything serious on it. I think I'll try to wait to see what AMD Ai Max has to offer and if this last resort fails I would have to re-join the Apple cult. Been there with a Mac Mini, successfully escaped it by building a powerful Windows desktop and selling the bugger. But as for the laptops, Windows based machines are in a vulnerable position. Apple Arm chips are just too strong. C'mon AMD give us something already!
Its simple. If you just gonna sit there and do nothing but just look at your laptop, buy mac. If you're gonna use your computer for anything, get the pc.
So neither of these PC's are top spec? Neither have a 4090, and keep in mind, the GPU's you're testing in those pc's are 2-3 years old. The new GPU's were just announced. For heavy GPU workloads I'm assuming the 5090 will run circles around anything Apple has ever produced.

@@kizitom I’m not having a dig at windows laptops. Lenovo are a great brand aswell. My bros had them for a while and they hold up well
No matter how hyped the Asus laptops are by youtubers everybody knows 60hz display in 2025 is a no no. Just wait for newt years version
PX13 (4050 gfx) marked down to $1400 and my local Best Buy had a like new open box for $1100 - no brainer for me.
nice. make sure to upgrade warranty to accident protection.
Get both of them and use when needed.
Can you just fix the Star Wars poster cus it’s bugging me 😂😂😂
If u want a macbook, u would never appreciate any windows lap that gets better how much ever even they are better than mac.
The best laptop is the one that is not running Windows 11.
Went with the P16. Will be mostly desktop on a Twelve South Curve stand, docked to a LG 4K 42" monitor via the Asus DC300 docking station! Screw Apple.
Excelente video, mi hermano en cristo.
The biggest problem for MacBook is the OS and the cost. Windows is so much more productive.
Wtf. Px13 $1100 and mac $2000, why you compares?
Obviusly win px13 for the price!
I get ads i windows 11. So Mac wins
Anyone else think the windows unit’s keyboard sounds like a mouse/rodent scurry?
The only handicap windows laptops have is windows.
