    This video is great -- helpful, clear, accessible and concise.
    I love the simplicity of explanation (I have minimal music education, so when Wikipedia talks abt a compound AABA structure in the INTRO paragraph... well, that's not helpful) as well as the abundance of examples (Google results share a bridge without reference to the music before or after it... so how can one even tell the bridge as a bridge?! What's a bridge without either end to connect to?).
    Dylan Laine is one of the clearest instructors to musical basics I've ever seen.

      Pre = Before
      Pre Chorus = Before Chorus
      Before the "Chorus" there is sometimes a "Pre-Chorus" to probably lighten up a song or a way to add more lyrics to the song to make more sense.
      It depends mostly on the Artists if they would include Pre-Choruses to their songs. It’s a normal tactic though.

      @@jmsalcedooo so in EDM genre before the drop hit that is the pre-chorus?

    • @jmsalcedooo
      @jmsalcedooo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If we’re talking about EDM, then it can be considered as: it depends.
      - If the Drop would have lyrics, then it is considered as the ”Chorus” or the ”Post-Chorus” (depends on where the drop is positioned).
      (The Weeknd - I Feel It Coming)
      - If the Drop does not have any single lyric then it is not considered as the Chorus. (Billie Ellish - bad guy)
      Some songs would include ”Post-Chorus” ("After-Chorus") to finish the chorus. It is mainly targeted where DROPS would still hit and continue while there is a lyric.
      (Calvin Harris, Rihanna - This Is What You Came For)

    what is a pre-chorus?

    • @DylanLaine
      @DylanLaine  7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      +Daichin Lay Hello! A pre-chorus is between the verse and chorus, but not all songs have it. If they do, then the pre-chorus typically changes lyrics each time, but keeps the same melody.

      Bohemian Rhapsody is not a pop song, it's a full composition with 5 different parts perfectly glued together: acapella, ballad, opera, rock and coda.
