I feel like they need to put more seats in the corner bits as it doesn’t look right and it would look so much better if they did like or comment if you agree
Hoping they will in the future. If we can stay in the Championship and keep the crowds it will be worth doing. Safe standing in both ends would be good also.
It's just marvellous that they took care of the Mainstand's own character. The redeveloped stand looks like an old-fashioned classic British stand with its gable roof on the top. It almost looks as lovely and unique as before, but it's surely much more comfortable, more functional and safer now. PAFC can be proud of this, preserving a bit of Britain's football culture instead of just building a 'modern looking' stand like almost all of the other clubs do. Fantastic work done by the club, the architects and the construction crew! Best regards from Germany and sorry for any mistakes, I'm obviously not a native English speaker.
The main trouble being, they haven’t sheltered fans at the front of the stand. And seeing how it rains in Plymouth a lot of those fans will be wet and cold for most of the season.
Agree with Aidy Gooner, it looks terrible, and who these days builds stands that have support posts blocking your view, it's from the 1940s, the top half looks like something that is due demolition for something more modern and better, a very badly missed opportunity, one of the worst redevelopments of modern times.
@@FulhamsEvo10 Talking of new stands, the one at Fulham is coming on nicely, should look fantastic when it is finished. Have visited the Cottage several times, admittedly not in recent years, and always wondered how they could redevelop the river side of the ground...think we have an answer. However, the new one at Plymouth really is dreadful, they didn't even clear the site properly before starting construction on it...cowboy builders...perhaps appropriate for the Wild Southwest!

@@FulhamsEvo10 It may look similar to people that haven't looked at it for years but it is the old standing terrace that has changed with the dugout areas. It is underneath and inside that has changed so much. It was very outdated and due to the club almost becoming extinct, there was no money for redevelopment. The revenue that came, which was 'some' money on match days, was basically it. Now it generates revenue through it's facilities out of match days (before covid 19) which for clubs in the lower leagues is vital as we don't get tv money like the Premier league and Leeds Utd :) . The owner and fan Simon Hallett invested in this with his own money to ensure we are a self sustainable club with what should be a a club back in the championship with the size of our city. The Corners are planned to be filled if and when possible.
@@BristolRoversFan my mistake. It was a comment from two years ago. It’s a top job they’ve done renovating it. I don’t know why they didn’t build the three new stands closer though. That’s just dumb. Football stadiums shouldn’t be so open.
What a rubbish cheap redevelopment. The bottom tier might be alright but the top tier of that main stand is shocking and should be wider with a bigger roof to cover the bottom tier. 🙈😂
@@Porkcylinder He doesn't need to know anything about football, but he is right, it is the worst redeveloped stand in years, absolutely shocking, roof support posts restricting views, a roof that does not cover the lower seats. designed in the 1970's
built in the 21st century

Glad you like it. Just need to fill in the corners now whilst not ruining the originality of the grandstand

Why didn't they extend it so it went all the way along the pitch .... I still think its an eye sore
The 1920s called, they want their stand back.
Jolly good show old chap!
They cheaped out, not a nice stand
Thanks for the constructive input.
@Jo Gos lol
@@johngosling- I think it was opinion than constructive criticism. Which is also fine.
Shame they didn’t extend the roof to cover the fans at the front of the pitch.
It now looks like it should be pulled down to build a modern one, bit of a waste of money 🤔
