That season where he came back from double achilles surgery, he averaged 24, 9 and 7. But the following year his back got so bad, he could hardly jump. Good reaction bro.
I think it’s impossible to understand how amazing the entry of Bird was in 1979 if you didn’t witness it. It was truly as if someone had turned the lights on. And each game was something new, something surprisingly, something dazzling! You truly couldn’t believe your eyes. Pretty soon, your life was run around the Celtics TV schedule and the streets of Boston were empty! Just one of those few memorable moments in my 75 years.
Bird's body was done after that surgery. Anything that he accomplished after that had more to do with Bird's sheer will power and tenacity. There comes a point that your body will not respond like you wanted it to respond. The fact that he got a few more years of play after that surgery is incredible.
He didn't beat him in the finals .Bird is my goat but I recognize the greatness of Jordan. Once bird and Magic were out of the league Jordan was my favorite . Far as moving the ball Bird said when the ball was moving good things happen.
They couldn't play in the finals because they were from the same conference. But it doesn't matter if it was finals or playoffs, Bird's Celtics still won.
Larry was by no means "easy to score on". Yeah he wasn't an athletic, lateral movement guy, and defense was the weaker part of his game, but he had blocks, steals, defensive rebounds, disrupted routes to force turnovers... He was three times all defense and to this day is fifth or sixth in defensive win shares. Bird is way underrated as a defender.
🍀33 Bird 17-11 MJ, i think just in the playoffs it is 6-0! Bird is still my man' And "making the case" has a video with the bad pistons as best team ever('89).! Another story from Bird is from Lewis or the other rookie, he told them in practice you two against me, one on two, it was 6-0 just like that for Bird, at the end they beat him 7-6! The story came out in a podcast from "Podcast P with Paul George" 1 month ago, title-(Legendary L.B. Trash Talk Stories Revealed). Short but new ones!❤
You had the talk in one of your latest bird video, sorry! "The Ramrod","one on two" watch the Paul George podcast i wrote to you, he tells more than the one on two!❤
MJ & the bulls beat Larry several times, just not in the playoffs. MJ also beat the NBA all stars all 8 games that him and the 84 Olympic team played. That’s where the story about the ball rolling down court to Larry, and MJ comes up to get it when Larry looked at him and fired it over his head. I guess that didn’t work out for Bird like he thought it would 😂
When you realize how injured Bird was and how much pain he was playing in by this point it becomes even more impressive.
You know it. GOAT in my book. I think Jordan is too.

❤😂🎉Larry Legend 🌎🌏🌍
Legend
MJ never beat Bird in the playoffs. Larry Legend was 6-0 playoff wise. Now, overall record. Larry was 23 w to 11 losses against MJ.
LARRY LEGEND IS A UNICORN AND THE *TRUE* GOAT!!! 🐐 ☘️
Making the case, has a video for the Pistons as best team!❤
I’m have to check it out

Great vid, great reaction #birdgang

Larry said, "When you can't feel our feet anymore, is hard to run" and still beat prime Jordan, mike drop
Remember that Bird was 6' 9", and a great player. No smaller man is going to be able to guard him effectively.
I felt the same way i swear they should of kept Poole
I feel the same about Poole
MJ has beat Bird just not in the playoffs.

LB is #1 in my opinion.
Bird is the only player that beat every real legend of his time.
please share
Will share you are great at what you do analyzing these videos ♥️
@@DeborahBuffington thank you I appreciate that
It’s simple they had to play Celtics and then the Bulls
I think its because they were dirty players
