Black and silver number plates can only be displayed on vehicles constructed before 1980. The original law was intended to apply to pre-1973 vehicles only, but a loophole allowed 'historic' cars older than 40 years to display such plates which, over the years, has meant the qualifying date has crept forward. This loophole was addressed with effect from 2021, and now only allows pre-1980 vehicles to display the older style plate.
To overcome the isssue with the block detector terminals because the wire will pull out,if i'm using thin wire i will crimp a ferrule on the end of the wire then flatten it out with pliers so it will go into the hole in the connector block, time consuming but it works a treat
28:00 can relate to that hassle. Prefer the type where there is a bit that is on the screw thread that comes up and clamps the wire and removing the wire is easy when undone.
I cant install the catenary until the rest of the team have finished their work on top of the boards. This time we have a tighter deadline so Im closer to the limit than normal but I do have all the parts made ready for installation. Aron
Great update, Dave, as always. Fantastic modelling skills by the Railnuts Team. Good luck at the NEC in April.
Great progress is being made. Well done all.

I'm actually a bit amazed they managed to get it fixated at such an even year. :)

Why do you leave fitting the catenary etc so close to the wire? 😉
