Great point about 3D printing not being a panacea. It made me realise the MT layout is not just about entertainment and promoting the hobby, it's a real test bed for manufacturers and products.
Great video Dave what a job they are doing.Hope to see it on Saturday all being well.I can see a shop opening up soon those house's and cars etc do look good.Great job hope it comes sll together on the day.👍😄
Thak you Dave another great video the end chat was very interestingly Pete is right where will it end I love DCC, sound etc. Making Tracks 4 is looking good I cannot wait for the next video.
It's just occurred to me that, by setting such ambitious goals and deadlines, Pete has invented 'extreme modelling'. Bit like extreme ironing but more interesting...
@@grenfellroad8394 it’s a fantastic attachment from Dremel, the 225 Flexible Shaft that enables you to get a good vertical cut on track because of the reduced diameter compared to that of the drill unit itself.
Interesting to hear about the coach capacitor charging issues during startup. Wonder if the manufacturers could include a movement sensor like that sold by train tech /gaugemaster so that the coach capacitors only start charging when the coach is moved.
There is a solution to the the start up problem, the first is to have more boosters (I would suggest 6 for the MT IV) as districts, the second is to have sub districts (sections) that have PSX X1 circuit breakers, as these have a "soft start" feature which include logic entitled 'adaptive load reset' (ALR) to not trip on start up and reduce the voltage until the charge up has happened
Hi Dave, just a thought after watching this video can you not boost to 3 amps per track and not per scenic module except for the fiddle yard. I am probably talking nonsense but would like to know the reason you cannot. I heard mention of 3 amps is that correct?

Thanks for sharing this. It's great to see how the baseboards go together.

A very talented guy.
@ALEXPATON-se6op Yes, indeed, they all are amazing.
@@ALEXPATON-se6op The guy is just incredible.

Haven't some coaches got magnetic switches in the roofs???
Can you take some stay alive out of a few coaches and loop two or three together, ie, 1mm plugs or just wire them in parallel?

Can you put smaller capacitors in stay alives???
where did they get ther track setters form
I think Phil made them.
Have you thought about Radio Control???
Hang on, has Warley NEC not been cancelled?
We're going to Key Model World Live in April at the NEC. Not Warley. See video description for details.
