    WOW YOU ROCK NATER TATER!!! After intense work and having a good friend get on my roof (I had knee surgery), we were able to expand my speeds from 10 mbps to 500mbps. The Mimo 4x4 worked better for me when I put it on a 10 foot galvanized steel pole on a grounded tripod at the very apex of my roof (pointed directly at the tower a mile away). WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Nate, Hey what are your thoughts on using two Waveform 2x2 mimo flat panels versus one Waveform 4x4? Thanks

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It can be done and works. Its harder to install and aim properly so I'd only do it if I already had a 2x2 and wanted to upgrade otherwise I'd just buy the 4x4 panel.

    Hey man, thank you for helping us non technical dummies out. I’ve gone from virtually no signal on my T mobile 5G home internet to being able to run about 8 devices in my house. I have the 4x4 MIMO with Chester Tech router. My understanding is that the router aggregates the signal to give you a potential better signal. My issue that I’m seeing now is that I’m having to turn different bands off at different times to get the best signal. I’ve been keeping LTE B71 off but just now I had to turn off LTE B2 and B66, turned B71 back on and I went from 5 mbps down to 75-90 mbps down. Am I always going to have to test it out to see what’s working the best?

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A couple things could be happening. One could be deprioritization on the network which can be worse on some bands than others. Another could be that they were doing maintenance or upgrades to your tower causing some bands to go down. I'd give it a couple weeks and experiment. Or leave it on auto so it will switch depending on signal (but not speed, so a band could have good signal but poor speed still).

    do u recommend the chester or the antenna if you had to choose

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really depends on your needs. If you're struggling for good signal inside the house (perhaps metal roof/siding, low e windows, log cabin, etc) then a Cheetah wont solve that. If you want to be able to band lock or do 5G SA, etc then an antenna can't do that. Some folks need both and others can do just one.

    Hey Nate, I got a 4x4 and a chester. I put my 4x4 near where I would sit my tmobile gateway outside because that was a good spot for speeds, i didn't like leaving their gateway outside, thats why i got the new stuff. My issue is, I'm getting very poor connections on my LTE bands. My RSRPs are up around 120 to 128 on band 2 and band 66 which were the speed demons here at my house. What's weird is I can hop on N71 and N25 and it runs smooth with great latency and RSRPs but the bandwidth just isn't there. What do you think could be the problem? I'm thinking I may need to go back and check my connections between the 4x4 and the gateway again but just wanted to see if you had any other suggestions in case that doesn't help.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You should be at a minimum getting the same signal stats as your gateway in the same location as the antenna if it's properly connected (the order of the connection does matter!). If you're sure of the connection and order then another thing could be aiming the antenna, is it perhaps aimed at a farther away/worse tower?

    • @randellhendrix7721
      @randellhendrix7721 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @NaterTater I was overheated a bit when finishing up connections outside, but I did go back later and confirm that each one is in the correct order. I only have one T-Mobile tower within 5 miles of me (it's only 1 mile from my house), and I'm aimed at it specifically. I'm concerned I may have gotten dirt in a connector. I should have taken a break and cooled off, but I was excited to have decent internet out here!

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @randellhendrix7721 could be dirt. Also depending on your gateway there are a couple antenna port orders to try.

    Hi Nate, I have an unrelated question. I wonder if you’ve observed that the T-Mobile KVD21 gateway superimposes an unnamed WiFi channel over the T-Mobile active WiFi channel? I see this on channels in both the 2.4 and 5G bands. Using a WiFi analyzer, the superimposed channel is usually about the same amplitude but sometimes a bit lower or higher in amplitude than the active channel. The superimposed channel appears and disappears but is present more than half of the time. I'm sure the superimposed channel is being transmitted from the T-Mobile Gateway, because it gets stronger the closer I get to the gateway. As an example, the active channel could be ch 2 in the 2.4G band. I had T-Mobile send me a replacement gateway and it does the same thing. I talked to T-Mobile customer service twice, but they didn't know what I was talking about. I haven't found any information on the internet regarding this. Maybe it's some kind of normal function, but it seems like it could be causing some interference. Thanks, Brian

    I get about a 60-70 ping and usually a 150-300up and 20-45down all the time. However my RSRP on 5G is always around -100 or -103 and that’s always poor for me.
    Would an antenna really help much other than maybe lower ping a tad?

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      An antenna, especially placed outside, will help your speed and your ping.

    • @asianpussykat33
      @asianpussykat33 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes this antenna can get your signal strength better and possibly lower your ping. I'd guess though by your speeds ping will stay the same and speeds would be consistently higher. I just installed this antenna but got cables off eBay. It lowered my signal strength from around -98 to -88. Speeds increased a ton from typical 80-100 down and 17 up... To when installed 120-150 down and 30-45 upload. Ping stayed around 40-50. I use the cudy P5 5Gmodem/router which is more flexible and you can choose which bands you wanna choose. Mine uses band 66 and band 2 together and those seem to have the best ping for me

    I use the Nokia version and use the 4x4 mimo external antenna that you use in this video but I have been seeing my speeds drop to 30 - 90 or dont even reach my regular speeds, while when I use the Getaway my speed has always been consisted I be consistently hitting around 150 - 300 I don't know exactly what ports I'm supposed to be connecting like for example L1, L2, L3, L4 what should I be connecting the mimo antenna to what port. I believe I might have the ports wrong which are giving me significantly slower speeds I have been trying to look through reviews and see what could help me but I couldn't find none please give me some information about this.
