I actually enjoy watching him
I always thought my hubby loves listening to my stories..He would have this fond smile and would say, "hold on babe let me.." whatever, I guess finish what he's doing that time and "okay here we go...let's hear it." I always thought he's so sweet and that he really wants to hear me out..now this got me thinking otherwise..🤔
My husband just broke my heart the other day when he told me he just needs 30 mins when he gets gone from work to let his brain have a break before I tell him any “stories” 😭😂 I was so offended. Lol
Decompression time is a Real Need for me. I feel attacked if I'm not given those few minutes to just Chill after a long day! Has nothing (absolutely Zero) to do with my spouse. It's literally a mental health minute. I WANT to talk with my spouse, I just have to clean out my brain of the day's garbage so we have a Clean space to communicate. I applaud your hubs for communicating his needs to you instead of blasting his day worth of shit at you in an angry release. If you facilitate his down time each day (without condensation, irony, or sarcasm) you'll find some days he doesn't even Need the timeout and will engage more fully and rewardingly with you.
I told my husband that. I think some people just really need quiet time you know. I feel like my brain goes into overdrive.
I told my partner that. She was at home with a new baby. As soon as your in the door blah blah blah, bam, blah de da. Can i please just have 20 minutes when i get home to get out of my work clothes, take a piss, crack open a cold one by myself. By the time i get home yeah you are craving some conversation, i'm just craving some alone time!. And that seemed to work. At least with drink in hand i could listen :). Then I made a start on getting dinner ready. Was so much better after having that conversation. As part of that i suggested she go to some local mothers group to talk to other adults during the day and she was very hesitant. But once she did, she loved it :)
@@nitehawk9270 Quick rant. I was the stay at home dad while going to college during my first son's first year of life. I WAS the blah blah blah person when my wife got home from work. (I desperately needed to talk to an ADULT after that 12hrs!) Now, with our 2nd kid (currently an infant) when I get home, I desperately NEED that 30 min after work. But it put into perspective how she currently feels having gone through it. Cracking a cold one to cheers you my fellow father friend!

So when I was 3 i used to sleepover at my aunt’s house very often and her son was already in his twenties and he got married so ANYWAAAAY there was this time where he hugged her i think and i went like “huh, pretending to love his wife i see””

Well that's relatable! 😂 My husband & I have been together 20 yrs, so by now when I go off on a tangent (tell a story) a few minutes into it, I see his eye twitch & sort of roll back in his head. Then, if I keep going, 2 minutes later he just goes, "ALRIGHT!" That is my cue to end the story cuz he's getting irritated. 😂🙄 "So anyways... It was good."🤣
