Writing from Santa Marta, Colombia. I fish a lot at night. Around 3-4 times per week. And those grunts or pig fish that you caught is actually the type of fish that I mostly catch. Down here we call them "roncos" and they are pretty edible. Your definition of them is quite accurate. They are very similar to a saltwarer bluegill.
Thanks for taking a minute to identify the species, with the name and local names. Many fishing vids use the local slang names of something, and that’s fine for locals who know the names. People watching these vids might have no idea what a local name for some of these species, and whether of not edible, and sizes, weights, seasons. It’s really surprising that people making fishing videos often don’t take the five seconds to name the species, and location.
Often when I travel I want to fish to see what types of fish are present, so this vid was a great tutorial for your area. If I’m ever near that location I can’t think of a better way to spend a day, and I’m sure everybody travelling with me would join in an have a memorable day.

Fish bites work I've used them at the beach and have caught pompano, black drum, whiting, black drum, and even a stingray. Offshore I have caught snappers and a small a small scamp grouper.

As a family we’ve surf fished using fish bites on rigs for a few years now with much success! But never would’ve thought of using fish bites in that sand flea set up! Brilliant!

Fr it makes no sense why a lot of influencers do this, unless it’s giant you can just hold it in front of your face and release it, it’s easier then trying to wrestle them on the boat

@Bama Saltwater I'm in rural west Texas, and I haven't been able to go do any fishing for over a decade due to VA 100% service connected disabled veteran! I loved it when I was stationed in Alaska. The only place in the world I've been we're you could catch monster king salmon, then shoot a moose and then a grizzly bear all during the same weekend trip! Then, go to the coast and be able to catch the bottom fish species. Many of which my wife abd I had never heard of much less catch, we diffently preferred the Halibuts buy almost every single rockfish species was delicious white meat also. My family, mostly our parents, a little lake property here in TX, but it's an 8 hour drive one way and makes weekend trips about worthless. All 5he more reasons for loving your videos, brother!

Hi Stephen. I enjoyed your video. I didn't know about clam fish bites. I will give them a try here on the West Coast for Striped Bass. I use the Saltist MQ 4000 here w/30lb braid on the ocean for multi species. I love the reel. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for another awesome vid. If You’re going for mangroves on a reef, are you supposed to use a circle hook when using natural bait?
Yes. When using any natural or live bait while reef fishing, circle hooks are required. Synthetic and lures/jigs do not require circle hooks

How much did that boat cost is it customized or did it come with all of that cause when I get enough money I would want to buy something like that also I’ve only seen you use it in saltwater(from the videos I’ve watched) but can you use it in freshwater from a legal standpoint and a practical standpoint?
