  • A novel design for an modular inflatable Mars Habitat . Mirror membranes reflect natural sunlight into greenhouses for sustainable and self-sufficient production of food and oxygen, while the harmful cosmic radiation is kept out from the habitat , which is covered with loose regolith.
    Recruiting for the future mission. "Apply now, and get your ass to Mars! "
    Best to be watched on a large 4K.Screen with good loudspeakers or earphones.
    Design by Architect Thomas Herzig, 3D Animations by Daniil Zhilstov.

    Reminds me of the Kim Stanley Robinson novels Red, Green and Blue Mars. Not exactly but along the same lines.

    Nice designs!! :)
    Greenhouses with reflectors for the win! Although I'd avoid using any soil, hydroponics/aeroponics is the go, if regolith could be converted into the equivalent of clay pebbles, then that would make a good locally sourced growing medium.

    That "Study in Steel" intro sounds EXACTLY like the recording cut by my Westminster HS concert band in ~'64!

      the music at the beginning is "Mars the bringer of war" from the orchestral suite "The planets" by Gustav Holst

    3:44 . . . Hopefully the Martian Admiral did NOT mean ". . . will have a Eunuch 's chance to . . ." ?! 🤣😉

      as a Martian, the Admiral (who is wearing a captains jacket with 4 stripes on the sleeves) is not a native English speaker, so his pronunciation is a bit foreign .

    Inflatable habitat with _Klingons_ just doesn't sound like the best idea. _You_ try and tell them they can't have their bat'leths! Also, no privacy, even in the shower. 😂

      congratulations! you are the first who understood that they speak Klingon

    @3:43 - "The world's most gifted humans will have a eunuch chance--"
    *World's Most Gifted Humans:* "Stop right there. That sounds really bad for at least half of us."

    The guy who started speaking at 3:03 reminded me of a gestaop officer looking for arian recruits to the mater race..

      Don't take that part too serious!
      Generally not only in the 3rd Reich, but most army recruiters of all countries in the world use the same Strategy to convince people to join up.
      If you cannot offer any enjoyable and convenient benefits, you have to address the sense for Courage, Honor , adventure and duty.. make people feel that they are outstanding and belong to an elite, when they do something that would be too dangerous, too hard and too dificult for the rest. Many people wish to be part of a great mission and be rewarded with fame

      @thomasherzig174  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      with a distance 3 times further from the sun than Mars, it will be fu...ing cold on Callisto, and almost no sunlight to harvest. For now, Mars, and before the Moon are enough challenge , I guess :-))

    Must we live in a space suit both in and out doors?

    • @thomasherzig174
      @thomasherzig174  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no, in real they should not wear a space suit indoor at all, in order to keep the dust outside. But we could not get suitable plugin- avatars, with indoor uniforms. Modeling and animating a complete new avatar would have been too much effort for the video.

    Yet another Mars video ignoring that Mars has only 38% the gravity of earth with people waling like they are on earth!

    • @thomasherzig174
      @thomasherzig174  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We just bought a ready animated avatar Astronaut 3D-model for that video. It would have been too much effort for this video to design and program a new avatar only for that short scene. Beside this, nobody has walkend in 0,38g gravity indoor yet. on the ISS, there is no gravity at all, and on the surface of thee Moon with 0,16g gravity they were wearing 90 kg space suits. So nobody knows yet how humans really would move on Mars.

    We left there a long time ago because it was being destroyed. Now that it has lost it's atmosphere and the surface has been stripped off and fused into the earth's moon, you want to return?
