For people who don't obsessively check their seedlings every day for enough water, try the seed starting sets using a "wicking mat" under the cells that pulls an even amount of water up from a bottom reservoir so you can drastically reduce frequency of watering. It's a game changer.
Your channel has been an immense help to me as a gardener in zone 10B! This is my fourth growing season and every time I start seeds I learn something new so I never skip a seed starting tips video. Whenever I start seeds I watch the soil like a hawk daily for signs of life lol
Thank you so much for so many great zone 9/10 gardening educational videos. Living right here in Poway there isn’t a need to watch anyone else. I owe all my past ( and future ) gardening success to you and your crew at SDSC. Y’all the best.🤙🏻
I am investing in your seeds for much of my seed starting this year in zone 10b east county San Diego! I appreciate you explaining all of this, because it’s a whole new learning curve for me. I used to just go to a nursery for my plants, but now I am just starting from seeds. Thank you for helping me!
Your videos always seem to come at the perfect time for me. I am now just starting my seeds, a bit later than I would have liked (better late than never). I really enjoy your videos and appreciate all the information.
Always love your videos! Glad to have a local seed company in my zone to get recommendations that are relevant to my area! I am doing my best at getting my garden up and running, trying to get a small veggie and medicinal herb garden going.
I am so glad to find your channel. I truly cannot thank you enough for providing information to help me grow in zone 10. I hope to take an in person class really soon. Can't wait to grow this season!
Love it! Thank you! I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and now live in Texas, so my intuition for when to plant things out is way off. I really appreciate your videos to help me recalibrate to how to grow in hot summers and mild winters.
I am so appreciative for all the knowledge that you share in order for me to be a great gardener. I love your channel. Would love to have a greenhouse for seed starting, but will try other methods.
I live in zone 9, but we do get frost and freezes, occasionally the freeze can be a hard freeze but not to often. I have watched your channel for 3 or 4 years now and most of what I have gleaned from you works great. I found out about over watering my seedlings by doing the do not do these things. Thanks for the great advice.
Love your channel! I add a small amount of vermiculite to the top of my trays when starting my seeds. It seems to help prevent dampening off. And if my tomatoes get a little leggy, I just plant them outside with part of the stem in the soil as they will grow more roots provided a stronger root system. 😊
Thank you for such great seed starting information. You make it simple, intuitive and help to build confidence! I’m excited to have the opportunity to win some of your amazing and helpful products.👍
Thanks so much for the great sessions. The dampening off tips were the best for me because of how easy it is to over water or top water if you aren't careful :)
Such great tips! I definitely have an issue with overseeing because I'm always worried about them not coming up. But then I have to thin a bunch of cute little seedlings. I'm working on it!
I'm new to seed starting and could use all the help I can get. I have tried direct sowing seeds but haven't had much luck. Thank you for the videos and a chance to win this giveaway! ❤
Always look forward to your videos. I’m currently crossing my fingers the ranunculus grow from the corms my husband bought me. I have watched that video many times lol
Wow! Thanks so much for the great tips. I'm in zone 9b, where we are still having super chilly mornings. I'm considering adding heating mats to my greenhouse setup.
Thank you so much for your excellent content. I have already learned so much from you and always look to see if you have information on a planting topic before looking anywhere else! ☺️
Enjoyed these tips - and having moving air is the real deal! I lost an entire set of microgreen trays on my first try because I didn't understand that... overwatered they went anaerobic, and tits up LOL waste of seeds and time. Thanks again 🔥
It won't let me sign up to the newsletter because I don't have a US phone number. Please, consider your international subscribers. We love you! Also, I can't get Echinacea seeds to germinate. I have kept them in the fridge for a few weeks to trick them into have a winter and I have surface sown. What am I doing wrong?
