Yes it works great. Next is the Dell 2007FB monitor upgrade and eventually KongsR’us “StarCade LaunchBox upgrade kit” for all the later Star Wars arcade games. Sadly I lost my dad before him, my son and I could complete it together. It’s just my son and I now finishing it up in his home while settling his affairs
I got the stand up one when it dropped in October of 2019 at Best Buy! I begged my wife to buy it for me for my birthday and Christmas. I thought about modding mine and throwing a PC in it. But when I found out that the emulation was so well done and very close to the actual original arcade games. I decided to leave it alone stock. I did get the GRS Spinner and it works quite well on my modded Space Invaders Arcade1up cabinet!
As someone else said, in the UK these aren't officially here yet as far as I can tell. I'd love to get one when they do and I wonder how that flight stick would work with something like Rogue Leader
@@darthnagus5457 Wish those were more popular here in the US. we got a model of it here, a Timex model of the Spectrum. But sadly it flopped here. Lasted less than a year if I remember right.
I got this for At legends Ultimate Arcade. I'm having issues with the the analog settings and the dead zone in the center of the joystick as i move from left to right and vice versa. Has anybody else had this issue or fixed it?
I love this review, however I'm having my Pacman unit modded ATM. My question is two folded. 1. How does the Star Wars Arcade game play with just a joystick and buttons 🤔? 2. Has anyone used the USB ports to play the game with a Flight Sim yoke? Until I find a way to get this one modded as an external USB attachment 😁👍🏾.
@@johnhancockretro Hoping we get them soon, we seem to be at least a few years behind with releases over here but it’s getting a bit better as time goes on. Will definitely be picking up a Star Wars cab if they do arrive as it’s a game I loved in the arcades
"extremely expensive" it's actually inexpensive compared to what it should cost. I can tell when someone who has never fabricated anything out of metal or has tried to build anything like this from scratch.
I'm looking at getting one of these because the Arcade1up yoke has a 'notchy' center which leads to a slight dead-zone, and makes it tricky to be accurate when aiming near the center of the screen. Does the GRS flight yoke have anything like this issue?
Hi John, I know Arcade1up spinner and trackball 🖲 are joke and a junk, is Arcade1up Star Wars Cabinet stick a joke too? If not why are we modding it with Glenn’s $265 Star Wars stick then? Confuse. 🤔
If you watch the video, you’ll understand that this is more than a replacement and upgrade for a 1up Arcade. Works with original arcade, computer emulation as well. The 1up flight yoke is okay. This comment makes me wonder if you watched the video ;).
The stock A1Up yoke is actually pretty good and accurate. It is mostly plastic and a bit stiff out of the box, although it loosened up over time. However, I broke the spring for the x-axis in my yoke after about 10 months of use. I also fly pretty aggressively, which probably didn't help. 😜

This looks like a lot of fun. I haven't had the pleasure in playing this before. Awesome job with the vid John! 👍
Great review John! GRS makes some very quality stuff.
I love when companies take a retro device and take it to the next level.

Its no longer available on Amazon...is there a website where I can buy one of these???
Thinking of upgrading mine with Alan 1 yoke
just purchased the Grs yoke so I can mount it to my atgames legends.
I love the ports of these games for commodore 64.
I had it for the zx spectrum very good port

maybe an adapter to use it with Atari 2600/ColecoVision ?
Where can I find an Atari decal for the GRS yoke?
Great review. Thanks! Did anyone ever tell you you look like John Dorenbos?

SW arcade doesn’t work great with just a joystick and buttons. Nor a trackball in MAME. It’s doable with a stick but wonky.
Will it work on raspberry Pi 3B? It need come with games with this price $265 wow!
Works with pi. If you are using that your games are free anyways ;)
Looks great - unfortunately it’s extremely expensive to get the Star Wars Arcade1up here in the UK at the moment.
Sorry to hear that. One of the better ones they have done.

Yeah I think I might go for the Street Fighter cabinet for my first one and hopefully this comes soon

Not that I noticed. I've had the GRS yoke since early November for my A1Up Star Wars. It has no dead spots and is very accurate.
Thanks! I've gone ahead and ordered one.
Did you hack it and put more games on it?
No
You mean Arcade1Up? 😜
interesting lol

Unrealistically expensive compared to the cost of the 1ip arcade. Cool device but overpriced.
It's not overpriced at all. The Alan-1 yoke is $349.99 - which does not include the adapter for A1Up. That is another $99.
1 up arcade and tastemasters is trash.
I've heard that its racist to mod arcade one machines.
