    I think it depends on the backseating if it's a problem or not
    Like if you ask for help then backseating of any kind is alright as long as they are respectful
    But if you don't ask for help then I would say it's fine if someone throws out an idea like 'put ifrit on that side or put Blaze on the right side of whatever stage'
    Arknights is meant to be played by experimenting and trying to compete stages with your operators, trying to write a step by step guide is not efficient and would be hard to follow anyways so it's not even effective.
    Basically, give advice when asked, don't when not asked, if someone is suffering on a stage, pull out your popcorn and enjoy the show.

    dear mythic, I don't know if you knew this, but, a good tip for arknights, that will make every stage easier to clear. is. do not forget. to deploy. your operatiors. You see, if you do not deploy your operators. the enemies will escape. through your blue box. I know this is a common mistake to make. As I made it on my first playthrough of Arknights, and still make it frequently to this day. I know it is very hard, to remember. to deploy operatiors. on the ground. but, it is crucial to becoming an arknights god like me. you see, after six months and nine days of tryhard arknights gayming, I have learned. this is the way. do you know. da wei? mystic? do you know

    It's been a long time since i watch videos content like this (I didn't know you before but now i know you). Kinda hilarious if I may say myself, because that's what i did before when 1st-2nd year on playing Arknights. I'm having too much fun that sometimes backseating my friends. Because people struggle to play some stages i gave them tips, but sometimes i made some videos to clear it (i don't know this count as backseating or not). Firstly i will asking like what operators my friends have , and next i will use the same operators then record it or just stream it.. add some jokes inside the video using Kyo accent to made the video entertaining for my friends (this suppose to be a joke, I'm not mocking Kyo or anyone else).
    And the times come.. I'm not really having much fun anymore to play, i don't know why. So i just keep playing but not everyday because i need to do other thing to keep me having fun in living with the stress that build up from work. If I'm not getting asked by my friend, i will not give any tips or etc. And one time i play with a 'difficult' stage, there are some friends who tell me like "why not just using surtr, chalter, etc. it makes lot easier" or "why not just watch Kyo, Eckogen, Oyuki,etc." , um yea of course, but the point is I'm trying to having fun again with challenging myself when playing Arknights so it's not helpful at all and sometimes kinda irritate me, but still appreciate the thought to helping me.
    Sometimes we need to know what other people think when someone giving tips or guide. Somehow this videos kinda relate for me in a way. If anyone read this comment i hope you guys understand what i want to say here. Pardon me for this long comment I'm just saying here, also I'm not an English native speaker so pardon for any misunderstanding.. Thanks Mythic for making videos about Arknights content!

      Thanks for watching! To answer, whenever you’re with friends as long as they’re okay with it, backseat as much as you’d like if it’s all in good fun and they genuinely want to learn. Hmm no I wouldn’t say uploading your clears are backseating but I get where you’re coming from. I totally get you when you say you want to challenge yourself and not use Kyo/Ecko guides lol I’m the same way. Im always for people being able to express their opinions, I just like poking fun at the ones who take it way too seriously lol but yes thank you for giving me your insight and I hope you continue to enjoy my videos

    From what I have observed, most new players actually appreciate mindful tips and suggestions. If they polite, understandable, optional and send in time.
    But, yeah. Too many times it just becomes "you should do that" or "this operator is must have", and goes overboard especially if there are too many viewers on stream. Then it's just a backseating fest and not every streamer knows how or wants to deal with it.
    And that's about new players.
    Giving tips to regular or veteran players when they didn't asked for them is.., yeah. Doesn't taste good.

    • @immythictv
      @immythictv  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

  • @JamesP7
    @JamesP7 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Isn’t an issue to me. Honestly I get more pissed off by streamers who yell at their chat for trying to help them or give them a strat to use.
    Like for example, a guy I liked to watch his Arknights vids of (PTZ, abbreviated to be a bit vague) I managed to catch a TH-cam stream of him attempting a CC. His behavior was very off-putting (was either drunk and/or sleep deprived despite having just started the stream) and annoyingly shot down anyone who gave a character suggestion or a deployment suggestion (and they were aware of what characters he had/built). If they’d been calling him an idiot or something or acting entitled I’d understand, but it’s a blessing to have players willing to give you strategy advice and new outlooks you can attempt.
    That behavior pretty much stopped me from watching his lives (and even his regular videos). He at the time had been being ghosted from my YT recommended for a year by that point anyway.
    As long at the person backseating/advising doesn’t
    A) prevent the player from doing what they want to try first
    B) demean the player’s attempts or actions in their comment or
    C) act entitled of their own strategy/clear or characters they used
    then it’s all good to me.
    The only snobbish Arknights player that’s ever stuck out to me for behaving in that kind of way is the notorious Laurant 2.0 girl (whose username I can’t ever remember but I recognize her when I see her).

    • @immythictv
      @immythictv  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with everything you’re saying but you have to see it from a streamers perspective. When you have streamers who have quit streaming Arknights because of the backseating, that’s an issue that should be addressed. Sure some streamers might get angry at their viewers here and there, and sure maybe it’s nice to have someone giving you tips as you play, but it’s all situational. I see it more often than not that some backseaters give their opinion or advice when it is not warranted or in a rude manner.

    • @JamesP7
      @JamesP7 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@immythictv Maybe that’s an issue on them then. I’ve watched many indie Vtuber Arknights players and they never had frustration with backseaters. The only streamers who do are the bigger ones, and then that can simply be attributed to chat/viewer density.
      I’ve seen a similar thing happen with Xenoblade 2 streamers/letsplayers, where chat or commenters try to explain mechanics (because the game has pretty poor/non-existent tutorials) or share their own “OP” squad builds. It’s just a thing that happens in any game with unique or complex strategy and should just be accustomed to.
      People always talked in the past about “CN elitists” doing similar stuff, but I’ve never held them at fault for doing it either.
      Pretty much every newbie Arknights YT reactor I watch talks about how welcoming and willing to help our community is. I’d rather keep it that way than to have that softened by arrogant streamers who don’t know how to either politely/firmly tell off or delete/block a chatter/commenter causing a problem. (I don’t think you are generally part of this group btw, but this video kinda makes you interpretable to being that way.)

    • @immythictv
      @immythictv  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JamesP7 that just sounds like blaming the streamer for things they can’t control my friend. (Victim blaming sounds too much for this). And I am not against chatters giving overall advice as long as it’s done appropriately. It’s about the ones that ruin it for everyone. Yes the Arknights community is overall welcoming but there is a loud minority of people that ruin it for everyone else.

    • @JamesP7
      @JamesP7 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JamesP7 and yes I understand that since it’s a strategy game that there should be expectations of people giving out their ideas. I just think Arknights has a huge issue with elitism because in gacha people especially have pride over those things. If I sound like an arrogant streamer then that’s fine, I’m always for people putting out their ideas (which I appreciate you for doing). I don’t like to censor people or just block them. Erm Mythic, do you need... tips?
    I don't know if you're just clueless but sometimes I think you're a bit special so I've collated some helpful advice for you today.
    First up, you need to get a camera and start streaming with a face cam while you're shirtless so as to show new viewers why they should watch you in comparison to other streamers (your hairy mexican pecs). 🥵
    Secondly, you need to start mewing for the goated jawline so all the vtuber ladies you've been rizzing up will be drooling all over you, ideally this will also aid the face cam too! 🥶
    Finally, you absolutely need to get @OverjoyedSoup to play lethal company with the gang to cash in all the nostalgia so you get that broken friend combo (gives 10 quallindrillon dollars 🤑).
    I hope this will help you a lot in your side hustle as streamer, no need to thank me as I already know I've been thanked for my benevolence and knowledge, though I would appreciate my VIP being returned. 😏

    Backseating implies that you think you're good enough to offer advice. Most people who think highly of themselves overestimate themselves. So you get a lot of bottom-of-the-barrel mouth-breathing who've never been told "Who asked?". Also, the obsession some people have with imposing their way of doing things onto others, in a GAME that's about having fun on your own terms, where inefficiencies and mistakes are not a big deal. It's not like anyone's grading you (except when you got your account roasted by Johnny, but you signed up for that one KEKW).
    There's an important distinction between backseating and honest advice in terms of attitude: "Do things my way" rather than "You might consider doing it this way", reading the room, presumptuousness, being so specific and overbearing that the streamer doesn't get the joy of figuring things out themselves. With some streamers I follow, especially if they're doing challenge runs, there can be a back-and-forth of viewers offering ideas and if the streamer wants it and some of the advice is helpful, that's good for engagement, but it all depends on the attitude it's done with and the player being receptive to it.
    One of the worst forms of this is when players ask for advice on whom to build/pull and everyone overwhelms them with opinions that aren't tailored to the person's specific needs and it often devolves into people arguing with each other and talking over/forgetting about the person they were supposedly trying to help. That's when you know ego is involved. Everyone thinks their opinion is superior (or else, why would they hold it?), but if you don't understand how to provide value with it (by being appropriate, clear, and respectful) or how to form good opinions in the first place, it's noise pollution. I generally don't get involved in AK debates anymore beyond citing actual facts to correct misinformation, because the flipside to vocal strong opinions is being too stubborn to change your mind, so there's no real discussion to be had. I know this isn't the exact same kind of backseating as telling streamers how to do a stage, but I think it's in the same realm and it drives me crazy how many in the AK community do this.
    I love new players because they're usually eager to learn and less eager to backseat (though some quickly parrot the standard advice, perhaps to "fit in", despite not having the experience to qualify it) and usually grateful for information and perspectives instead of pedantic and close-minded. That makes them easy to help and easy to chat with about the game. There's a lot to learn about the game even once you settle into a basic playstyle, so it's best to keep a beginner's curiosity and open-mindedness so you can keep growing with the game and have fun with it, and be fun to talk about the game with, and not end up a stale, pretentious mouth-breather.

    Bro you lucky, you atleast have the community that does one long comment not wake up to 20 comments from 1 person.
    I gotta get too deep 4 me here. Arknights is a videogame, videogames are suppose to be entertaining, if making videos about arknights is fun for you, the game is doing extremely well at its job.
    People who back seat seem to forget, the goal is fun. Not three stars best clear perfection everytime. I hate to say it but its like league addiction anymore, its not about fun its about winmning for some people.
    P.S. KyostinV is the bestest boy, we protect with everything, even if its the loud mouths in the AK community.

    I think backseaters just don't know proper chat etiquette. People just don't know how to pick up on context or they just like to jump to the conclusion that the person playing needs their "help".
    It's an issue with a lot of categories, but for a strategy heavy game like Arknights that's also a gacha game at its core, it's worse. I've seen too many first time chatters that just come in to provide their "help" but really, they just want to flex knowledge and be THAT person that appears to know so much about the game and share what they did on a difficult stage even though no one asked (probably just copied a clear or a kyo guide, just saying).
    I'm not saying that this is ALL backseaters but I think most of them don't intend to actually help. Some people are just way too addicted to flexing in gachas and in Arknights, there's more ways to flex than just flexing luck on rolling characters.
