Like for example, a guy I liked to watch his Arknights vids of (PTZ, abbreviated to be a bit vague) I managed to catch a TH-cam stream of him attempting a CC. His behavior was very off-putting (was either drunk and/or sleep deprived despite having just started the stream) and annoyingly shot down anyone who gave a character suggestion or a deployment suggestion (and they were aware of what characters he had/built). If they’d been calling him an idiot or something or acting entitled I’d understand, but it’s a blessing to have players willing to give you strategy advice and new outlooks you can attempt. That behavior pretty much stopped me from watching his lives (and even his regular videos). He at the time had been being ghosted from my YT recommended for a year by that point anyway. As long at the person backseating/advising doesn’t A) prevent the player from doing what they want to try first B) demean the player’s attempts or actions in their comment or C) act entitled of their own strategy/clear or characters they used then it’s all good to me. I agree with everything you’re saying but you have to see it from a streamers perspective. When you have streamers who have quit streaming Arknights because of the backseating, that’s an issue that should be addressed. Sure some streamers might get angry at their viewers here and there, and sure maybe it’s nice to have someone giving you tips as you play, but it’s all situational. I see it more often than not that some backseaters give their opinion or advice when it is not warranted or in a rude manner.
@@immythictv Maybe that’s an issue on them then. I’ve watched many indie Vtuber Arknights players and they never had frustration with backseaters. The only streamers who do are the bigger ones, and then that can simply be attributed to chat/viewer density. I’ve seen a similar thing happen with Xenoblade 2 streamers/letsplayers, where chat or commenters try to explain mechanics (because the game has pretty poor/non-existent tutorials) or share their own “OP” squad builds. It’s just a thing that happens in any game with unique or complex strategy and should just be accustomed to. People always talked in the past about “CN elitists” doing similar stuff, but I’ve never held them at fault for doing it either. Pretty much every newbie Arknights YT reactor I watch talks about how welcoming and willing to help our community is. I’d rather keep it that way than to have that softened by arrogant streamers who don’t know how to either politely/firmly tell off or delete/block a chatter/commenter causing a problem. (I don’t think you are generally part of this group btw, but this video kinda makes you interpretable to being that way.)
@@JamesP7 that just sounds like blaming the streamer for things they can’t control my friend. (Victim blaming sounds too much for this). And I am not against chatters giving overall advice as long as it’s done appropriately. It’s about the ones that ruin it for everyone. Yes the Arknights community is overall welcoming but there is a loud minority of people that ruin it for everyone else.
@@JamesP7 and yes I understand that since it’s a strategy game that there should be expectations of people giving out their ideas. I just think Arknights has a huge issue with elitism because in gacha people especially have pride over those things. If I sound like an arrogant streamer then that’s fine, I’m always for people putting out their ideas (which I appreciate you for doing). I don’t like to censor people or just block them. I’d like to at least put attention to something that I see as a problem. It’s worth putting out there.
Mr Mythic dont listen to this Try Hards, the only thing you need is to bring Frostleaf for Moral Support. You dont even need to deploy her, because if you do, shes gonna make the stage waaaaaaay to easy
Erm Mythic, do you need... tips? I don't know if you're just clueless but sometimes I think you're a bit special so I've collated some helpful advice for you today. First up, you need to get a camera and start streaming with a face cam while you're shirtless so as to show new viewers why they should watch you in comparison to other streamers (your hairy mexican pecs). 🥵 Secondly, you need to start mewing for the goated jawline so all the vtuber ladies you've been rizzing up will be drooling all over you, ideally this will also aid the face cam too! 🥶 Finally, you absolutely need to get @OverjoyedSoup to play lethal company with the gang to cash in all the nostalgia so you get that broken friend combo (gives 10 quallindrillon dollars 🤑). I hope this will help you a lot in your side hustle as streamer, no need to thank me as I already know I've been thanked for my benevolence and knowledge, though I would appreciate my VIP being returned. 😏 Yours truly, Kazo. 😘
Backseating implies that you think you're good enough to offer advice. Most people who think highly of themselves overestimate themselves. So you get a lot of bottom-of-the-barrel mouth-breathing who've never been told "Who asked?". Also, the obsession some people have with imposing their way of doing things onto others, in a GAME that's about having fun on your own terms, where inefficiencies and mistakes are not a big deal. It's not like anyone's grading you (except when you got your account roasted by Johnny, but you signed up for that one KEKW). There's an important distinction between backseating and honest advice in terms of attitude: "Do things my way" rather than "You might consider doing it this way", reading the room, presumptuousness, being so specific and overbearing that the streamer doesn't get the joy of figuring things out themselves. With some streamers I follow, especially if they're doing challenge runs, there can be a back-and-forth of viewers offering ideas and if the streamer wants it and some of the advice is helpful, that's good for engagement, but it all depends on the attitude it's done with and the player being receptive to it. One of the worst forms of this is when players ask for advice on whom to build/pull and everyone overwhelms them with opinions that aren't tailored to the person's specific needs and it often devolves into people arguing with each other and talking over/forgetting about the person they were supposedly trying to help. That's when you know ego is involved. Everyone thinks their opinion is superior (or else, why would they hold it?), but if you don't understand how to provide value with it (by being appropriate, clear, and respectful) or how to form good opinions in the first place, it's noise pollution. I generally don't get involved in AK debates anymore beyond citing actual facts to correct misinformation, because the flipside to vocal strong opinions is being too stubborn to change your mind, so there's no real discussion to be had. I know this isn't the exact same kind of backseating as telling streamers how to do a stage, but I think it's in the same realm and it drives me crazy how many in the AK community do this. I love new players because they're usually eager to learn and less eager to backseat (though some quickly parrot the standard advice, perhaps to "fit in", despite not having the experience to qualify it) and usually grateful for information and perspectives instead of pedantic and close-minded. That makes them easy to help and easy to chat with about the game. There's a lot to learn about the game even once you settle into a basic playstyle, so it's best to keep a beginner's curiosity and open-mindedness so you can keep growing with the game and have fun with it, and be fun to talk about the game with, and not end up a stale, pretentious mouth-breather.
@immythictv no ones hurt sorry to disappoint you lol if anyone's hurt it's the person who deleted my comment lmao anyways have a good day I'm playing nikke right now and it's best if I just mute you.....I usually love arknights streamers but you're a bit of a price compared to kyo and the others

Bro you lucky, you atleast have the community that does one long comment not wake up to 20 comments from 1 person. I gotta get too deep 4 me here. Arknights is a videogame, videogames are suppose to be entertaining, if making videos about arknights is fun for you, the game is doing extremely well at its job. People who back seat seem to forget, the goal is fun. Not three stars best clear perfection everytime. I hate to say it but its like league addiction anymore, its not about fun its about winmning for some people. P.S. KyostinV is the bestest boy, we protect with everything, even if its the loud mouths in the AK community.
I agree man but I wouldn’t say I’m lucky to have weirdos in my comments. I’m overall talking about the community at large, not just my videos. Twitch as well. Happens a lot there too
@@immythictv Oh heck, they tell you what to do live? But that's like. When you are suppose to shine, isn't the fun in watching a streamer seeing how they complete the level not convince them to do it the way you did? Definitely against live back seating for sure.
I think backseaters just don't know proper chat etiquette. People just don't know how to pick up on context or they just like to jump to the conclusion that the person playing needs their "help". It's an issue with a lot of categories, but for a strategy heavy game like Arknights that's also a gacha game at its core, it's worse. I've seen too many first time chatters that just come in to provide their "help" but really, they just want to flex knowledge and be THAT person that appears to know so much about the game and share what they did on a difficult stage even though no one asked (probably just copied a clear or a kyo guide, just saying). I'm not saying that this is ALL backseaters but I think most of them don't intend to actually help. Some people are just way too addicted to flexing in gachas and in Arknights, there's more ways to flex than just flexing luck on rolling characters.
Damn. That is some pretty good.... tip. Will someone give him a tip to tell him these are sh!tposts video? I appreciate his willingness to help, but like, if he wants to help Mythic here, maybe he can go to his live Twitch or something.

@@immythictv It _is_ blaming, but their refusal of control is exactly my point. The streamer controls the video, not the viewer.

Secondly, you need to start mewing for the goated jawline so all the vtuber ladies you've been rizzing up will be drooling all over you, ideally this will also aid the face cam too! 🥶
Finally, you absolutely need to get @OverjoyedSoup to play lethal company with the gang to cash in all the nostalgia so you get that broken friend combo (gives 10 quallindrillon dollars 🤑).
I hope this will help you a lot in your side hustle as streamer, no need to thank me as I already know I've been thanked for my benevolence and knowledge, though I would appreciate my VIP being returned. 😏
Yours truly,
Kazo. 😘
Thanks Kazo

A good analysis
Got any TIPS Mr. Strimmer? 😂
(:
Or when the streamer gets moody and takes it out on their viewers when they get frustrated with a stage...

@@PseudoHeart592 ya, if u look in these comments you’ll find Eckogen agreeing lol
NODDERS

I’m not funny to you because you don’t even understand what a joke IS LOL. Bro you gave me “advice” on a joke video for a stage I already did. Get over yourself, you’re not KyostinV nor are you near his level of good. Also your new player guides suck. Peace✌️
