just amazing what hobbiest can do now, i just picked a variant of the esp32 its awsome what can be done, wondering if you can add an overlay displaying the battery voltage or other telemmetry options i love this community and of corse open source projects
Great to hear you're inspired to do these electronic projects! Sure, you can add a voltage display by wiring a voltage divider circuit to an ESP32 gpio pin and setting it up in the code. I suggest you watch videos online on how to do that.
This man is fulfilling our childhood dreams. I will encourage everyone to subscribe his channel. I always wanted to see a TH-cam channel that makes this types of videos. And I have finally got it. Thanks to you Max. regards, Zuhayer
Cool idea. Your video made me want to make something similar, but with a tinywhoop FC with an onboard receiver and VTX. Since the board would also have a 4in1 ESC, you could run two small outrunner brushless motors. Also if I redesigned the frame, all of the components could be screwed in place instead of glued in place for easier replacement, as both the FC and brusheless motors have small screw holes.
Zamn! This cuts like paper. Unfolding the legends of the thin sheet. Amazing work But one thing: don't drive coreless brushed motors backwards, it ruins them
Really appreciated! Awesome build max 👏 Its really complicated but you nailed it.... Btw, cool background colour in the studio. Bloopers are highlights of the video 😂
“Wing flaps” perfect paper aeronautics terminology - elevons is what they actually are. The most impressive achievement here is that the paper airframe handles the weight of all that tech 😮
"Wing flaps", yup, you now know I'm not an aeronautics engineer. However, studying it! Yeah, the paper doesn't fold mid-flight despite the weight onboard due to the type of folding that went into the paper airplane to give it sturdiness.
@@MaxImagination dont wanna upset you but i am a bit suspicious about "you" designing the folding because its an EXACT copy of the powerup 4.0 plane, at least credit them
Hey Max I am having a problem so I don't know how to solder smd components like these mosfets so can u suggest other transistors or mosfets which could work?
Hi there. You can use slightly larger components like larger packages of the same MOSFET, resistor, etc. Stay tuned for my upcoming video where I guide you on how to make these motor drivers.
hey can i use any esp32 camera instead of the specific one in the video and also can i use SI2302 instead of SI2300 because see, I live in India and the mosfet SI2300 is not available here and the specified esp32 in the video is out of my budget. thanks.
Hey! To use a larger ESP32-CAM, you'll need to make a bigger plane - at least 1.5-2X the size of this one. Yes, you can use the SI2302, as it's an N-channel MOSFET like the SI2300.
And I forgot to mention that this is not only cool or amazing this I one of it's kind no one else has dared to build this except you on TH-cam thank you very much for this and all your other projects
Thanks for your comment. That is due to the humidity accumulated on my filament. However, I fixed the stringing by adjusting retraction settings. All is good now.
Nice project and good explanation of it all. But if i would redo this project I would use drone electronics with a all in one 5.8g fpv cam. The latency and FPS would be a lot better. Thx anyway for the great video. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
cool idea, but for camera i think regural analog AIO FPV systems that cost around 15$ are better because this one you show have low fps and delay, and analog camera have no delay at all and maintain 60fps on NTSC at all time
This could be the WiFi connection between the camera and your device. Try connecting via a different device/browser. Or it could be an SD data issue - try reuploading the app via SPIFFS in the Arduino IDE to the XIAO ESP32S3 Sense.
Hey! The range is currently around 100 meters and can be extended with a larger antenna. Adding an NRF would work if you're willing to add your own code and make it controller-operated instead of by mobile.
totally awesome!! reminds me of the old kickstarter paper plane kit "power-up", just nerdier and awesomer!! :D i could imagine that the plane would stay up longer when using a slightly larger piece of paper, so theres less weight per wing area. i also think that the props would be more efficient when flipped around 180°, you just have to cut off the top, or drill the hole all the way through. and if they spin the wrong direction, you can just use the other props which spin counter clockwise. (i assume you are using the props from the h36 mini drone, right?) not an expert, but there might also be a way to get some more voltage out of the "ecu", the battery should provide more than 4v when full. love your work! stay young and wild, my friend!! 🤗
Thank you very much for your kind and constructive comment. I appreciate the feedback! Totally, I have already (as shown in video) mounted the h36 drone props on the way for maximum thrust as you say. Will consider trying out a paper plane with wider wings. Cheers!

Hi can we just do it with drv8833 motor driver because those smd are not available here will the same circuit be used
Yes, it will work as long as this board has enough pins and can work with 3.3V signals.
Just for kicks, I wonder if it could be working with ESP32-CAM module.....which I have.
May work! Give it a try and let me know ;)
Just out of curiosity, why didn’t you directly wire the motors to the gpio pins?
That would result in burning the microcontroller, so a MOSFET for each was used to drive them.
Never do as you mentioned.
