    Brought the same kit to install it on my dodge omni. Literally took me two days straight to install all four keyless locks on my doors. Omg crazy amount of work and i had to stop by an auto store to pick up more wires, cause the ones that came with the kit didn't reach all 4 of where the electric locks were mounted at. But I'm happy with the results after. At the end of the day i spent like $80 with the whole installation. Still cheaper then paying someone to do it. 😉

    I installed this same kit about 8 months ago on my Jeep with no issues so far
    Didn’t have the most confidence in this either so I bought another kit to have replacement parts for if and when things start break

    Good job! Back in the mid 80's I installed car stereo and other car electronics. I can't begin to tell you haw many of these I installed. Its hard to beleive they still make vehicles that don't have that already installed.

    So I figured out how to wire the six prong switch. Connect the brown and white wire to the top and bottom terminal on one side of the switch then a ground wire to the center terminal on the same side of the switch. This will get the switch to unlock and lock the door at the push of a button

  • @KewlCrayon

    Just bought that kid including the power windows of the same kit, what a god damn nightmare. I spent 4 hours on it and managed to pull all my wires and loosely get my stuff where I wanted it to be. I got fed up with it cause its dark now so I stuffed all the wires into the door, stuck the panel back on and left them there till maybe tomorrow or the next day when I jump back in again.
    I came to your video to see how you rigged it up to your power, and I see you went directly to battery. My wiring diagram was telling me to go to a 10 fuse, but after all my wire pulling I realized my fuse box on this particular truck is located under the dash (New truck never looked before), and not where I assumed it was, behind the panel under the dash, thats when I gave up to try another day.
    Im glad I came across your video cause now I'm just going to pull the one live wire through the firewall and straight to the battery and I noticed you wired the blue/brown wire to a switch. My kit (Same as yours) said to wire to the alarm, but if it works on a button I'm going to do the same thing and install a button somewhere.
    Hopefully you did power windows of the same kit, gonna check your vids out now

  • @RonnieRoss
    @RonnieRoss 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had no idea this was even possible. I have been toting my daughter around in my single cab, all manual (transmission, locks, and windows) truck for 2 years. These days I just get in the driver seat and put her in the car seat from inside the cab. The passenger door does not have a key hole to unlock from the outside. Too bad our next kiddo is on the way and I have to get another vehicle to tote both kiddos and myself or I would totally do this!

I been trying to get some one to install a remote start system prestige model aps997z but it seens like every place I go they make look like its not easy to install so labor does come cheap and I have already installed the universal door lock actuators on both doors and tested.are you familiar with any of this systems ? Does it really require a lot of components to make the system work ?

    I know it’s been awhile since you posted this but, much like other comments, I would like to know how you wired the switch. I just installed this on my Tacoma but when I probe the white and brown wires to ground I only get a response to the position the actuators are already in. If the doors are locked and I probe the white wire I hear a click but the doors remain locked. Then I switch to the brown wire and nothing. This video got me through a lot of issues and for that I give it 5 stars but I sure could use some help on the switch thing.
