It sounds so bad when they say just "Girls on easter want to get whipped" :D , the thing we whip them with is called "Pomlázka" which is a small whip made from small sticks of willow and we LIGHTLY and GENTLY whip them, being whipped by a willow means wishing a girl to be healthy. Here in Argentina we know the Czech Republic very well for its excellent actresses Katerina Hartlova, Shione Cooper, Abigaile Johnson, Lucie Wilde, Krystal Swift, Angel Wicky :D
Explaining our Easter tradition in English is really difficult. XD She was right about the "stay young and beautiful" thing, but the whip is made of young willow branshes. It is supposed to symbolize giving young life from branches to women, allowing them to stay healthy and beautiful. And we don't whip them hard. We actually have our own separate word, but english doesn't have that.
It's still a terrible tradition, giving men gifts and women hits. Even if they are gentle hits. And this comes from a person from Czech Republic. My parents don't care for it either so we quickly adopted the "culture" of hiding sweets all over the garden and having children hunt for them on Easter instead. Splitting up genders like that and hiding sexism behind a veil of "good health and beauty" is ridiculously old-fashioned and needs to be phased out. It leaves far too much room for abuse there too, having traditions that can essentially be used as excuses for such things. Just like Christianity creates far too much room for exclusion, abuse and fascism.
@@js66613 I dont think people view it as sexist thing, but nowadays barely everything is offensive for someone, it's like saying baptism is a child abuse. I think the worst Czech tradition is Walpurgis Night (burning witches), because nowadays they use some kind of puppet or doll, but back then, i doubt they used some wooden dolls.. 😀 It says *"pomlázka is a symbol of men's interest in women. Unvisited girls may even feel offended. A "whipped" woman gives a man a colored egg as a symbol of her thanks and forgiveness. Legend has it that the girls are to be whipped at Easter to stay healthy all year round and maintain their fertility. In some areas, women can retaliate in the afternoon when they pour buckets of cold water on men and boys."*

Ovšem hlavně bývá zmiňována Praha a ne celé Česko. A to je celkem škoda.
Poland is mentioned more often in movies/tv shows than Czech Republic for some reason. But unlike Czech Republic, most of its mentions are mostly related to WW2 and vodka/kiełbasa rather than its capital city.
In the most recent Mission Impossible movie they use the interior of Prague Castle as the interior of the Kremlin and they use Prague as a shooting location but say it is Luxembourg.
I am czech. And when I was a child and I knew just a little about our history with Slovakia and I truly thought that the "Conec and Ticut" way of separating countries was a norm and I though that countries just normally separate along with their names. Like Can,Ada, Aust,Ralia, and I knew that Jugoslavia was separated years ago so I was hopelessly trying to find my parent's old holiday destination of Jugo and Slavia on the map. But of course I was also open to the possibility of finding few countries with short names Go, Via,Sla and Ju. Becose that's how it works.
The film was a Czech co-production (for sure) and was shot in there (I think), so they likely hired local extras for some scenes. For example, Blade Runner 2049 was largely shot in Hungary and some of the extras on the film speak... guess what! .... Hungarian. :-)

Do we beg to get whipped tho? More like we don't have a chance to really say whether we want or not, dudes are gonna do that anyway 🤦♀️
But it is nice to hear others talk about my country 😅
What? We have the chance, I've never seen anyone being forced to get whipped
@@veronikaczr1105 I didn't say we are forced, but it is a tradition. I meant it in a way that we just got used to it, that we let guys do it simply because it is a tradition. But we surely don't beg to be whipped. That is what I meant by my comment. I have never mentioned nor said that we are being forced.
@@dragonfly52ful you said "we don't have a chance to really say whether we want or not, dudes are gonna do that anyway", so I thought you meant it that way. If not, sorry
@@veronikaczr1105 oh yeah I probably didn't explain myself well here. It could be interpreted like that, but I didn't mean it in that way so that was a misunderstanding so everything is okay 👌
Když zmíní třeba i Olomouc, nebo Brno, Karlovy Vary, atd., tak můžu umřít šťastná
no hlavne takova Chobotnice
I like how the hyper realistic car is just Daewoo Matiz lmao
When a czech person goes to commments and say: Dobrý den
U Breaking Bad zapomněli na s03e02, zrovna sleduju :D
AS SLVAKIAN,I WATCHED BING BANG THEORY AND I NEVER SEED THIS ART!!!IT WAS SO EPIC
HIMYM 4X22 Barney's 200th chick should be a Czech model named Petra Petrová. :)
The woman talking to Walter White is Laura Fraser - she played one of the "date girls" in Kevin and Perry go large movie (aka "Klub Sráču" :)
In the most recent Mission Impossible movie they use the interior of Prague Castle as the interior of the Kremlin and they use Prague as a shooting location but say it is Luxembourg.
3:12 It is extremely gentle
první zmínění a hned o párnu:DD no konec
Sherlock is the only one not doing cultural appropriation…
CZECH REPUBLIC MENTIONED 🗣🗣🔥🔥
You forgot Grey's Anatomy.
Really? And what episode And season they mentioned Czech?
Is this video watching any others than only Czechs or Slovaks??
I would say no 🤣

Protoze jsi tupej!
Proto to nechapes.
Because the video is in English... and also many Czechs don't speak Slovak, so it's better to use English.
@Getting Cock! dunno, slovak sounds kinda like hungarian to me. (And I understand none of them)
@@nejvicsean 🤣😄
There's czech being spoken in Snowpiercer too I think
The film was a Czech co-production (for sure) and was shot in there (I think), so they likely hired local extras for some scenes.
For example, Blade Runner 2049 was largely shot in Hungary and some of the extras on the film speak... guess what! .... Hungarian. :-)
THEY BEG TO BE WHIPPED? :0
We don't need Walter Whites meth.
We are known for doing the best meth in Europe.
I v upirich denicich byla rec o Praze :D

The Czech republic is also mentioned in Prison Break seasons 1 and 4. A character that is supposed to be from Prague
I live in Czech Republic 🇨🇿
Is there any difference between the Czech Republic and Chechnya?
What The hell is Chechnya?? 😅
If you mean Czechia then yes i suppose that it should mean the same thing as Czech republic... But someone could say that Czechia is just part of Czech republic... It''s matter of attitude.
No there isnt a diffirence lol
Only in spelling
Yes,there is a difference.Chechnya is in Russia(i think)
Doesn't matter, Czech Republic or Chechnya, every country east of Germany is just a "Russia".
