love your chill! as a fellow hobbyist i perk up seeing endlers, the use of aquasoil, sand, seachem root tabs, houseplants, planting, the whole process of setting up, I totally get it and relate. i have a fully carpeted DHG nano tank, it’s a pain to mow the “lawn” but at least the grass bits float to the surface after trimming! i love this hobby so much, but have never shown my tanks online. you make me want to try tho XD
This was going to be my comment. I also moisten both the glass and the vinyl (side that will be against the glass) with the soapy water spray. It will allow the vinyl to slide around easier for good positioning before squeegee.
If you don't like the look of the plastic pipes maybe hiding them behind a piece of bark could be an idea? Awesome vid though, cheers from SmallScaleTales🤍🌱
Great video with a great result. And I think the plastic tubing is a lot less noticeable than stainless would be. Love the plants. Especially the asparagus fern. Good choice!
I love your fishtank. I like the waterfall idea with the pipes. I am planning to do a planted tank soon. I also want to get a koi betta. I think it's a lot better for bettas to have plants. I have a butterfly betta, and I want to add plants to his tank. 😊 Have you ever thought of doing a betta siority tank? I am wanting to.
Definitely get some plants! I would love to try out a sorority at some point. There's a super long list of things that I want to do and so little time. 😩
I watched this entire thing and in addition to learning a lot about aquascaping, the calm was like therapy. I love the asparagus fern. My mom always had big ones hanging in the house and I was surprised to see the tiny ones in the aqua scape. Question- for smoothing out the vinyl on the back of the aquarium, do you think a Kroger Plus keychain card from 2008 would work or should I stick with an expired Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance card? I also have a Blockbuster Video membership card if that helps. Thx.
Nice tank and a super lucky betta! I 10000% agree with you about putting those backgrounds on! They suck! I always get weirdly anxious doing it and I don't know why 😅
Beautiful aquarium Just a question i always wanted using hydrocotyle plants like pennyworts But have little to no success is it better for it to be planted on substrate or halfemersed to work what tips can you give? I dont really use Co2 i cant afford it that much
Thank you! Hydrocotyle in low tech is tough for sure. I have had the best luck doing emersed growth in high humidity; they rely heavily on C02 so its a good way to go in a low tech scenario for sure. Further more, I have also had better luck with hydrocotyle in tanks with lots of surface agitation and balanced gas exchange through out. What is your water like? My water sits at around a ph of 7 with a GH of 50 ppm
That asparagus fern looks amazing, where did you get it? Do you have any other plant suggestions that could live like that out of the water and not in soil? I thought about building another paludarium but i dont want to deal with bioactive soil again.
does the splashing of the spray bar get loud? I had one a while ago and the sound was bothering me too much i just submerged it but wanted to know your experience with it
I have a question, I bought 7 chili rasboras about a week ago, I’ve been told that they are fragile, and three died. The store I bought them from doesn’t have any more, would a group of four be ok? I do also have some gold White Cloud Mountain minnows in the tank,
4 should suffice for a small amount of time granted that the tank is nicely planted and they feel secure. That said, they will feel a lot safer in a bigger group and you'll get to see them more often.
@@WorldofWhasianthis is me on a alt account, the 4 I have seem comfortable and my tank is somewhat planted, but the store doesn’t get them often so should I return them

Thank you so much for watching. Definitely tag me on IG if you post any tanks. Would love to see them!
Your videos were such a inspiration for me! Now i have a 15 gal walstad tank with 3 sparkling gouramis and an army of shrimp that are both breeding.
Thank you so much!
I would suggest using a little dish soap with water for the background it helps it stick to the glass.
Appreciate the tip! I'll definitely try that next time.
Is satisfying!

I believe that's actually how you're supposed to do it... You must be careful with the soap and clean it properly afterwards tho
put your tank front glass facing down and work from above. also find a vinyl thats a little softer so its easier to lay.

Appreciate the tip might look into it! 👀 I do like the idea of drilling holes in bark and creating a drip wall of sorts?🤔

Thank you Gramps!

Another great scape! Makes me miss my betta though. Midwest represent!
Thank you!
Hi from Aquafinity, just watched your collaboration video with Zac at that chanel. Subscribed! 😊
Thank you so much!
Beautiful tank! I love the asparagus fern, I have never seen someone use it in an aquarium before, I need to try it now!
Thank you! Hopefully it works out on my end. We will see!
I recently found you're videos and yet you have inspired me more than other creators to start my own stuff!
Thank you for watching, I greatly appreciate it!
Looks really nice
Thank you!

Thank you! Tough call on the block buster card. Try the hollywood video card maybe? I know you have one.
Great vid! keep it up! greetings from México
Thank you!

Thank you! I got this plant my local plant nursery. Other great options are peace lilly and parlor palm! Those my two favorites.
@WorldofWhasian appreciate the response and good to know! I think I'll go with the fern since I think it fits my iwagumi tank vibe better
That's one lucky betta righ there
What water filter are you using on this video?
Using the OASE Thermo 100!
does the splashing of the spray bar get loud? I had one a while ago and the sound was bothering me too much i just submerged it but wanted to know your experience with it
Yeah it's pretty noisy. I actually adjusted the angle of the spray and not it hits the back of the wood instead of hitting the water directly.
So underrated I swear all the people who post this stuff and get all the fame just post like every eon 😂
Hahaha I appreciate it! It's rough out here for sure.
@@WorldofWhasian yea definitely
Put Put valance on the back of the tank and it will go on find
oh didnt notice that you started posting again
btw tank looks good

If you hate vinyl you could use paint.
Good point!
