Great to see John getting some well-deserved press. "Chasing Shadows," from Vinyl Confessions, fantastic Elefante Bros. composition that def. s/h been a single, along w/the others that were 100% authentic - "Face It," and my favorite, "Right Away," what a song. I remember spinning that record consistently upon release, and marveling at how John fit right in, especially with the shoes he had to fill. I still listen to it - on vinyl! Todd thanks for this edition. John, gotta see you live, hopefully next time, you still soar, keep rocking, God Bless!

And also watch you and John Schlitt singing with Jay Sekulow. Loved every minute of it. Not forgetting you and your brother Dino produced for Petra. I gotta say you are one of my top favorites.

    Mr. E,
I grew up with Kansas music, but absolutely love every solo CD you made from Windows of Heaven to On My Way To The Sun. Every song in each CD is excellent to me. Even caught you at a KSBJ Brown Bag Special at Chick-fil-A in Houston. What a special day it was for me. Looking forward to your next one to come out.

For sure. Every single song is amazing. I'm still discovering new songs from him like "nowhere without your love" and others. I met him briefly on late 90s and asked him to pray for my mom and he assured me that he would. I'll never forget that or the unplugged concert that day. Amazing 👏

I am So Glad I have found these videos interviewing John Elefante I have wandered and lost track of John from his time in Kansas I had already been a Big Kansas Fan and Really Liked Steve Walsh Singing and I got to see the Band Live 1st Audio Visions Your and. Was Amazed then I got to see Monolith Tour and Wow! Then I heard Steve left the Band and I was Bummed Summer of 1982 I had heard just once one of the new Songs I think Fight Fire With Fire and liked it I got to see so many concerts growing up my hometown was 120 miles east of Dallas Tx and 60 miles West of Shreveport La and tried to see as many as I could I had heard Kansas was coming to Shreveport but was undecided because didn’t know about Singer I was working a construction job that was Hot and hard I remember getting off work walking to my car and the wind blew a small piece of cardboard on my foot as I reached down to pick up I could tell it was a ticket but was sure it was old but I looked and the concert was less than a week away and it was Kansas so I asked around to coworkers and of course they said it was theirs but they couldn’t tell me who it was to see so I decided Ok I will see how they are with new singer and I got a date and she had really liked their new Song we went and I had told her how Great they were but wasn’t sure how new singer would be and as soon as they came out and he was like a smaller guy next to those Big Kansas Guy’s John Elefante was So Good and his Songs that I just learned He and His Brother wrote Wow Great Songs I Really Enjoyed watching this Interview and hearing John talk about his time in Kansas and Yes he was only new guy it was original Band and those Guys were So Tight and Talanted and John fit right in! I Missed when he left and I knew that Steve Walsh came back with another Guitar Player I think Kerry had left and it was around 1986 and I have continued to go see Kansas as far as a Real RRHOF I am waiting for someone in the Music Industry to create what ever that is that to me is more of a Rolling Stone Magazine Awards Hall it Absolutely has no real structure that Celebrates what so many Incredible Talanted Musicians that have given their whole Lives to be Appreciated by the Fans and there is so much Discrimination and there is an era of Music that is now considered Classic Rock Music and from the late 70s to the early to mid 80’s and So many Bands that were So Loved and The Music and the individual Amazing Talented Singers Guitar Players and Bass Players and Drummers and Keyboardists were So Good Unbelievable and The Songs written were Great I consider The Best time period of Music and the concerts Wow! Journey, Styx, Triumph, Foreigner, Asia, The list is So Long and it was not until the last few years that some of these Incredible Bands are just now starting to get Nominated and Inducted and it appears that the reason for that is there was finally a Fan Vote and that should say that this whole Organization needs to be Really looked into and lots of changes it makes people so Flustered I am So Disappointed that it is managed with so much Prejudice so unfairly by the time someone decides that a particular Musician or Band should be Nominated unfortunately and unfairly Finally when they are recognized several Decades to late a lot are Dead and for the one’s that finally have been Inducted You can tell how much something that was Supposed to be Such an Honor and who ever the one’s in this committee don’t Really Care they are trying to charge outrageous prices so the Musicians have to pay enormous amounts to bring a Loved one it is a Joke how this is Handled The Band Kansas and what they gave us I can’t Believe are not A Part of this Supposedly Great Honor of Music they think is a RRHOF. I also feel that John Elefante and what He contributed to Music! I spent so much of my young years in Hospitals and I have had many Health issues throughout my Life I have Always leaned on Music for Escape From the pain and Music Always would Help me continue to try and get Better and in most cases Speeded up my Healing time! I Apologize for getting so wound up and going on about a Flawed Awards Hall I heard at first of this interview it being discussed and I Feel Amazing Incredible Musicians that gave us So Much Like John Elefante Absolutely Deserves to be Honored in what should have been a Secret Awards Hall! Thank You for posting I am going to be looking for another chance to see Such an Incredible Talented Performer Thank You John as Well!

The man is a total Class Act and a great vocalist. I wanted to audition for Kansas but Ronnie Platt got the gig. I couldn't get into that inner circle of eligible choices.

Let me put it to you this way: John and Dino Elefante didn't change my life-God did. But there are no words to describe how every lyric, every line, fed my spirit. John and Dino must have prayed before Windows of Heaven and so many others.

I just have to ask where the disconnect lies between the Lyrics of John and Dino Elefante and this interview. I'll leave it there John...

Been even better if John had made sure Yahweh was his focus. I'm not sure how I feel about that. "AND IT'S DANGEROUS-GETTING LOST INSIDE A WORLD THAT'S NOT YOUR HOME..."
