If the sink is not used all the time you could get some wood (mdf) cut to size and either paint or cover with contact paper (water proof) and it would hide the sink be removable if needed and also offer a little more counter space for folding etc
The contact paper over mdf will not waterproof it. Old countertops sealed in laminate and even they can leak, swell and make a nasty mess. Marine plywood would work but is expensive. I noticed that the cupboards didn't have much in them, but all the flat surfaces pile up with items. Your two shelving units already in the room look like they've filled in more with items being stacked. One thing I've tried in the past is to write myself a post-it note and stick it to my flat surface that just says "no items here" or "keep it clean!" to remind myself to not create piles of things that should be put away. I've also gone the more "extreme" route lately and just got rid of furniture items! It was a little odd at first, I got rid of a table that was right inside my front door, but it forces me to put my items away in the coat closet versus just throw them onto a table and leave them there. Less places to put stuff = less stuff! enjoy painting, it's always a big process but it's so wonderful when it's done :D

But I think that's where you get into trouble. Like those ping pong balls. Do you even play ping pong? But I'm not sure we would have needed so many balls, unless you wanted to have everyone playing at once and all the balls in play at one time. But I think we only had four paddles, so might have had to improvise with that. I don't think it's enough to just keep what you love. There isn't enough room in anyone's house for all the adorable stuff that's out there. There isn't even enough room in the stores. So maybe ask (1) Do I love this? To get rid of the almost used laundry soaps, wash all the blankets in the house! Just start cycling everything! Your house will smell fresh and you'll have a few less jugs in the laundry room!
Those old instructions could be turned into decor! Just find a cute frame and hang it on the wall, next to the laundry sign of your choice. Also, those old wooden pins could be transformed into a board to save the socks without pair (we all have those lonely socks lol)
I find it so amazing to see how much more you decluttered this time. Like usually you are so preoccupied with your stuff that you struggle to let go of things, but this time it seemed as if your excitement to redo your room seemed to overpower your attachment to things. That is actually huge progress because it shows how far you have come mentally and emotionally. So proud, don’t ever give up!!!
A few thoughts 💭: 1. This room feels like a victory ❣️🎉 It’s so exciting to see you finish tidying this room! The deep cleaning, painting and decorating will feel so good! It will feel like the respectful room you’ve always wanted it to be! 2. I like the idea of the plate somewhere on the wall that feels good to you. I think it will be a happy moment over and over when you see it. The laundry room or 1/2 bathroom seem like good ideas. 3. Inside your cupboards, create a home for laundry softeners, stain cleaning zone and found lost things to put away. You could “shop around the house 🏡” or take cereal boxes, cut them in half and decorate them the way you want to. Paint or put contact paper down to make the insides of the cupboards look “fun to open” if that feels good to you. The containers would make it super easy to find everything, very accessible and easy to clean. 4. “Hard to decide where they belong” things: I’m unpacking from a recent move. I did some decluttering before, but not everything. I decided to have 3 stages of unpacking. A. Stage 1: It has a home, easy to create a home, need to gather like things first, give to someone, donate, trash. B. Stage 2: Deal with gathered “like things”. Decide what is “enough”. Create a home/declutter it. Deal with things that were hard to create a home for. Sometimes in Stage 1 one really can’t tell what a good home would be. Sometimes taking care of what one does have an answer for first gives one the time to think about what’s harder to decide ... or it’s too early to decide. This is where the Konmari Method works well. C. Stage 3: This is for the hard things, including Sentimental Zone. Some things one may be ready to let go of, but the time and emotional space was needed to respectfully choose what to do with it. Respect is granted here as one creates a respectful home for what brings joy and serves you well. Homes may be on a shelf of honor, wall space or in a good quality storage bin with a lid to minimize water, critter or elemental damage. The things that are decluttered are done intentionally. Peace is there about the product. Sometimes one needs a few months space to settle on one’s decision. Sometimes a bin(s) to check on in a few months helps to give more clarity. Be intentional, make a decision instead of procrastination. Anyways, I think you’re right on track with having some things that are harder to know the answer for. Right now you’re going through Stage 1. You’re learning where you are now in life. Your willingness to work on one weakness at a time is still growing! Keep it up because you’re doing so well!!! We’re looking forward to the basement, garage, maybe the shed and then to ponder where you are. The more you do, the easier it will become to have the home you dream of! Can’t wait to see your final reveal!
I was going to suggest that you should frame the instructions and put them on the wall also you could get a plate stand and display your shelf on the window sill xx❤️❤️
Please dont forget to reset you landing area (den/kitchen) after you've konmaried the crafts and put the laundry room back together. Get all the items to their bins, recycling out or things to their respective person/home. It'll make moving foward to the next room much less stressful. Very excited to see the post. Take the time you need to get the job done well. Don't rush just for episodes. Maybe revisit the main level rooms to make sure there aren't areas that could be revisited. The basement will be take some time, it'll be helpful to know your main level is easily manageable during that period. Another suggestion; declutter holiday totes during the holiday. It'll be out and you can decide if some items are more loved than others.
Oh my goodness!!!! You have worked so hard and made it thru all your anxiety to have your laundry room decluttered and clean!!!! I am so happy for You!!! Painting and decorating is going to be fun!!! Keep up the good work and be proud of how far you have come!!💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
If you want to go a bit "greener", why don´t you use powder detergents once you´ve used up the onces you already have? They come in paperboard, which is easier to be recycled. Great job by the way!
Yay! I’m so excited for you! The room is going to be so pretty and functional. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. When you’re done, take a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come and all the hard work you’ve put in!
Do the paint thinner first for any paint stains. Then You can clean it with ajax. The best u can and then leave it over nite with Clorox and alittle water mixed. More Clorox then water. U can fill up the sink until the height u want. Just make sure u use something good from taking the water down other wise in the morning the sinks gonna be empty. The Clorox will leave it very clean. Onces its been siting there over nite. For the top of the sink or sides take bounty or paper towels and soak in Clorox and leave over nite on top of the area that needs cleaning. Has to be very soaked and wet. u will see all the stains will be gone and any rust or mildew too. Hey did u check behind both machine and sink to check for any trash behind them. Just a reminder. Also u wanna put some baking soda some salt and some vinegar down the drainage. So nothing clogged your sink. I do that to all my sinks in the house. The room looks so nice. I Cant wait till its painted and finished. Congrats. God bless. I hope I was clear on the instructions. Try the clorox on the sink over nite u will see the differences it works. U know they sell plate stands u can find a stand to hold the plate if u want to have it out. God bless.
I have so much to clean up either later today or tomorrow, I'll probably go back and watch some old videos tomorrow! I love how far you have came in this series and I'm glad you have kept going! I hope a full transformation of your laundry room gives you the motivation to get more piles gone! I am also stoked for one day to see your basement with totes all lined up and stacked neat and organized! (I know some things you will never want to get rid of, and that is fine!)
Cool bananas!!! Great great work! It's wonderful to see your progress. I love to see the changes to your home, but the changes going on in you are what makes me excited. I struggle with anxiety and depression and I know how those feelings stop me from doing what I know to be right for me such as walking. I love walking. But can I get myself out of the house, nope. But now, having watched you deal with your feelings and achieved so much, I will go for a walk tomorrow morning, whatever my feelings. I will think of your lemon cream laundry colour and enjoy the sun...which will probably more pink cream 😆. I'm am loving all your videos. Especially when you say Tossy Tossy 👍👍👍!
Just read through the comments, and others made suggestions that I was going to make. You're doing great! Can't wait to see the laundry room when it is finished. 💖
Haha. You said "funky dunky." When I was repainted my house, I would work on it every Sunday and each wall would take me 3 weeks. One for trim, one for rolling and one for cutting in. I'm looking forward to your new laundry room!!
Yupeeeee!!!🍾we need a celebration!!! brava brava brava!!!! it is going to look fantastic and now you can enjoy the process of organising it while still gradually making sense of what you have!! love the yellow paint. So for the sink, you could 1. try with some vinegar and baking soda, although if it is old paint, doubt it will help. 2. they sell some special paint for sinks/tubs etc. it may be on the pricier side, and you could decide to do it later on, or buy it with the money from the yard sale, or maybe for just one sink it will not be that expensive I think that if you sand it well and paint over it with the specific paint it will look like new!!! 3. someone suggested covering it, which sounds like an awesome idea, I would do both, paint it new, and then put something you may have lying around, wood, mdf, whatever to have more working space, that you can easily remove when you need to use the sink, so you can fold your laundry there, or use it for messy crafting works? Love the baskets! You could display that lovely little plate in a space where it is ok with the decor, maybe hanging it on a wall, or putting it in a shadow box with other memories? My dear unicorn heart this room will be lovely!!! rooting for you! 😊💜
Yes! Use super fine steel wool, it works wonders on those sinks that never seem to come clean! I like that you've set a deadline for your painting, it's accountability, and you're going to find it so much easier to maintain a space you love :)
YEAH!!! WHOO HOO!! LOOKIN' GOOD! 💜💜 YES, I agree with you...TOSS that lung & brain killer cleaner - it nearly suffocated me to death!! I was sick for days.... I trust CLR - try it in the sink & on floor?!? Here's an idea: My DH put up a shelf above the washer, I use one big laundry container with the bottom push button. I store it on the shelf and just push the button - detergent goes right into the washer (measure cup optional. After a while you know how much to use - or save for kids to use it) No more picking up heavy messy bottles. And... pour all the other single bottles with little detergent into the one big container. Same stuff - different colors. Recycle the old bottles and use less packaging. I save one sample pack for travel, camping or in case you run out! Also, I've seen where decorative glass dispensers are used for liquid, powders, pods, sheets, etc. Mine is in an unfinished basement - plastic jug works fine. Have fun finishing and decorating your laundry room. 1/2 Bath getting painted, too?
I would take ping pong balls and some small x-mas lights (that works on batteries) and make a decoration for boys room or when they go camping :D Washing machine instructions-> frame it for laundryroom decor. Paint sink and cabinets too as some other commenters sugested. Inside of cabinets make some fancy wallpaper DIY magic on background :) Small inexpensive led light from ikea or such can be a nice bonus for lighting the inside of cabinets. Lable shelves to organize cabintes to know where to place things and so that you can see when something is spent/missing (for shopping list so that). Why not use one of the shelves to store some cleaning supplies that You don`t use often or are not safe to be in kids reach/sight? Keep up the good work ! You are an inspiration! With every video that you upload I clean and declutter my house a little bit :) So thanks for making me company :D Can`t wait to see makover done.
Maybe use the instructions as a background to a piece of art, or maybe decoupage them on to the inside of the cupboard door? You could use those emoji pongs on a fun wreath. Your laundry room is looking fabulous. It's coming together so quickly too! I'm happy for you and look forward to seeing it.
With white and grey accents with the yellow walls, your laundry room is going to look so fantastic at the end!! I’m so excited to see the progress in the next vudeo
Well done 🎉 definitely paint the cupboards if you can along with the sink. Failing that cut a piece of MDF to put over the top. Hang both the dryer instructions and your plate they will both look lovely on the wall. Can't wait until the reveal 🥰
I use old tooth brushes to clean hard to reach corners with. 😂 I find it a good way to not having to buy (and waste) extra brushes. It's a very little contribution to reduce my plastic consumption.
Hi M❤️ H❤️(initial from your mug☺️). For the plate: you can hang it! There are plate hooks on the market, you can create a plate pattern on the wall (pinterest is full of visual inspiration) so you can enjoy it. Great job as usual, you do so GREAT! It's like watching a treasure hunt, you find so many things and they are always/very often in best conditions. 😘
Tip for the lint rollers: keep the label that they come in and use it as a cover. Keep re-wrapping it after you use it, that way you dont have a sticky lint roller lying around!
Will you be sorting out the shelving too? Maybe some bins for those shelves too? I look forward to see the room done! You should definately put up some rools for the future 😊👍
Dear H❤, there is something I was asking myself while watching this video. When I clean and sort through stuff I really have to remind myself to put the thing I have in hands away in its final place immediately or it will end up somewhere else. Sometimes I end up forgetting about stuff I wanted to put away because there is so much else that screams "me first!". Have you ever tried that and if yes, how did it work out for you?
I love it when you show us bins you are sorting into. Maybe when you’re in the basement or garage you can have a bin for each room in the house and places you are going to donate too or garage sale items. Just an idea.
Congratulations! Enjoy your "new" laundry room. Yeah, I'm not sure how to clean the sink some of those bottes you pulled out looked like they could help like CLR.
For the utility sink: "Combine equal parts white vinegar and non-abrasive, scrubbing cream cleanser. Coat the sink with a layer of the mixture. Leave the coating to sit as long as 10 minutes. Scrub the sink thoroughly with a non-abrasive scrub pad and rinse." from Google! That or I'd use Comet bleach from Dollar Tree. Have you thought about putting your detergent in a container similar to that powder one you have? There's all kinds of cute ways to organize/decorate the laundry room
There are little display racks made just for little plates and little racks made for cup and saucer sets. I would get the kind that mounts on the wall and then you could have a beautiful display of really pretty cup/saucer sets and a beautiful Rainbow Bright plate.
Your welcome. Your videos are inspiring, I started decluttering and donating items for the last four years. It take times, I've found having less is more. More time with family... ect.
Sinks are used for the drain of the washing machine... This is where the wet bathing suits should go to get rinsed and hung above it on a clip hanger. A board cover can add more folding room.
@@carly1478 depends on how/where the drain is... It can drain into a pipe (to septic or grey water) or straight into a sink if plumbing is not accessible - or plumbing pipes are temporary/old/small/frozen or clogged, especially in older houses. Since you do not have a sink, you have a specific drain pipe just for this. H💜 says hers does not drain into it, but a 'slop sink' is always good to have.
I use baking soda or laundry powder (not the liquid laundry soap) for scrubbing my laundry sink. Any scrubbing powder together with a good scrubbing brush might work, I just don't know American brands.
whenever you get food stains in fabric, rub the stain off with a soap bar, also works well on blood stains. back then I had a white board and it had dry erase marker stains, so I used that stuff in a bottle my parents clean their glass top stove with, I'm not sure what it's called, but for how well it worked cause water did nothing, maybe that will clean your sink stains.
Try using Goof Off and a scrub brush on your sink. You probably have to let it sit for awhile before scrubbing. You should be able to get it at Home Depot or home improvement store. You are doing great! I love that Lemon Cream paint color.
I dont know if it would work well or not in that sink cause i live in europe so i've never even seen that product, but youtuber "curiosity inc" once cleaned a bathtub that hadnt been cleaned in a big bunch of years with CLR cleaner. i dont have much knowledge in cleaning tips, sorry
Do you have a ping pong table? No? Then, the ping pong balls need to go! You only bought them because of the emoji faces probably, right? Well here's some emoji faces for you, so you can let those go! 😃😄😁😂😍😊😚😌😂😁😁
Doing a great job!!! wow so different!!! Please say U donated the ping pong balls because im hoping you can let them go. I think the ping pongs is good sign to let go of one thing U liked and if donate them spread joy to someone else.. it's only a small thing but it's making those little steps of getting less stuff in your house that is valuable, so hoping U can get ping pongs out of the house as think that is a good representative of something U find cute but is also not necessary to be in Ur house.... I also think some purchases U make in life that U thought were for U were really planned for U to buy and then discover that this item is better for someone more unfortunate or to be passed on.. It sounds so little but in charity bin that would bring joy to a kid... receiving charity item and nice for them as in original packaging... so give joy of ping pong balls to others:) I have a friend who was homeless as a child and we talked about favourite presents and hers was an eraser and pencil that smelled like a cupcake and how she loved it as that was her first present that was in packaging...so if got packaging could mean a lot more too.
You could frame the washing machine instructions and put them up on the wall. I think that could be a really cute old school moment ☺️

A sink in a laundry area is always a good thing, not something you want to cover or abandon.
I agree with Nicole! I really wish I had a sink in my laundry room! Even if it was stained! If that's hardened paint, it might scrape off....

You could get a plate hanger for Rainbow Brite and hang it in the Laundry Room.
Your persistence is something to celebrate!
So pleased that you are doing this!
Looking so forward to the painting!
A few thoughts 💭:
You could also get some peel and stick tiles for the floor 😊
They have some quality looking options these days!
You worked really hard on making the space the way you want it...doing the happy dance for you! 😄
I was going to suggest that you should frame the instructions and put them on the wall also you could get a plate stand and display your shelf on the window sill xx❤️❤️
Oh how cute!!!! Thank you for sharing that with me 💜🦄💜
Maybe it would be nice on the wall in your 1/2 bathroom.
October 2021. I keep 10 plastic bags. For garbage and dirty cat litter. We take big fabric bags to the grocery store. Tina
Great ideas!
Can't wait to see the painted room! It looks so great, you're doing amazing! Keep it up❤
Thank you so so much 💛🧡
Oh my goodness!!!!
Great job! Can not wait to see it painted and decorated. ❤️
Excited to see the freshly painted and decorated laundry room! You've done a great job. 👏🏼
Thank you so so much!!! Just bought the paint today 🤗♥️
Yay! I’m so excited for you! The room is going to be so pretty and functional. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. When you’re done, take a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come and all the hard work you’ve put in!
So so happy for you. 😊 Your positivity is INFECTIOUS!! 💚
Keep up the good work! Can’t wait to see your painting video! Laundry will be exciting for you! LOL
You are doing awesome! Redecorating is a huge milestone I couldn’t be more proud!
It’s looking so good!!! You’re amazing!
Awe, thank you so so much 💜🦄💜
Ah I’m excited!! Just in time to watch while I organize my chest of drawers 💕❤️
God bless.
I get so excited every week when you put up a vedio ..it's my favorite series on youtube 😍
Awwww I can’t wait for the final laundry room episode!!! ☺️🥳
Great job it's going to look so good when you paint it's going to be so cheerful and bright ❤
Great job! Can't wait to see the next laundry room video!
Lots of love from Australia😀💟
Just read through the comments, and others made suggestions that I was going to make. You're doing great! Can't wait to see the laundry room when it is finished. 💖
Haha. You said "funky dunky." When I was repainted my house, I would work on it every Sunday and each wall would take me 3 weeks. One for trim, one for rolling and one for cutting in. I'm looking forward to your new laundry room!!
🤣🤣 Thank you!!!! It’s a big project and I’m hoping I can knock it out this weekend 🙏🏻♥️
You must be doing a great job because I have minimalist videos recommended on the side of this video!
Yeehaw! Closer and closer 👏🏼👏🏼 is that a drawer under the utility sink?
I'm so excited to see the finished laundry room! You are doing such a great job. You are inspiring! I loved Rainbow Brite. Xxx
Thank you so so much 💜🦄💜 I cannot wait to see how it looks with a fresh coat of paint 🤗
Great job as always! Can’t wait to see the final results!
For cleaning that sink, I'd go for paint thinner first. Then scrub it out with Comet scouring powder or AJAX
Thank you so so much!!! I will do that!!! I really appreciate that 💜🦄💜
Glad you back you are doing amazing job be Proud of your self you came along way keep up the good work from Detroit Michigan Stay Blessed and Positive
I would take ping pong balls and some small x-mas lights (that works on batteries) and make a decoration for boys room or when they go camping :D
Washing machine instructions-> frame it for laundryroom decor.
With every video that you upload I clean and declutter my house a little bit :) So thanks for making me company :D
Can`t wait to see makover done.
I am so proud of you!!!!!!!! You truly motivate me. Thank you.
With white and grey accents with the yellow walls, your laundry room is going to look so fantastic at the end!! I’m so excited to see the progress in the next vudeo
Haha, I have that same mug! Can't wait to see the room when it's done.
Use the mug to hold the old toothbrushes and stain remover soap bar
Well done 🎉 definitely paint the cupboards if you can along with the sink. Failing that cut a piece of MDF to put over the top. Hang both the dryer instructions and your plate they will both look lovely on the wall. Can't wait until the reveal 🥰
What a great job 👍🏻
I use old tooth brushes to clean hard to reach corners with. 😂
I find it a good way to not having to buy (and waste) extra brushes. It's a very little contribution to reduce my plastic consumption.
Yessss!!! That’s exactly why I did it too!! Love it!!
Maybe have a container in the cupboard for scrubbing/stain removal kit. It could be a mug or something you desire to keep.
You can frame the vintage original instructions of the dryer and put it in the new laundry room. Free and very nice decoration!!!
Don’t know what I’m ganna do when your finished 😔😔 lol love your videos x
I suspect she'll keep making videos 😊 Maybe she'll start doing vlogs! The channel could be about MAINTAINING all the stuff!
Tip for the lint rollers: keep the label that they come in and use it as a cover. Keep re-wrapping it after you use it, that way you dont have a sticky lint roller lying around!
Oh what a great idea!!! Thank you for sharing that with me!!
Get a plate hanger and hang it on the wall in your bathroom where you get ready/makeup.
CLR- for your sink spray, scrub and let it soak. And frame and hang the old dryer instructions, reuse :) it looks great.
Love this!
Congrats on coming this far:D
Congratulations! Enjoy your "new" laundry room. Yeah, I'm not sure how to clean the sink some of those bottes you pulled out looked like they could help like CLR.
Have you noticed that there is an echo in the laundry room now that it is getting empty. I love it! 💖
Wow what a transformation!
Wow a great job. The wasching machine instruction I would put in a frame and use it as decoration.
This looks amazing.
I totally have the "when i said i do..." sign too!
Your jewellery is beautiful 🤩
You can cover the paint tray with press and seal wrap. Then you can pull it off to clean. Looking good!
I was looking for this link www.ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/floating-shelf-hidden-closet. Since you and your hubby are so handy.
Get a plate hanger for that Rainbow Brite plate and hang it up in your newly painted laundry room!! Then you could see it and enjoy it 😊💗
It seems like it qualifies as a sentimental piece that deserves a place of honor, so you can enjoy it as much as you really do enjoy it.
Powdered Ajax for the sink.
There are little display racks made just for little plates and little racks made for cup and saucer sets. I would get the kind that mounts on the wall and then you could have a beautiful display of really pretty cup/saucer sets and a beautiful Rainbow Bright plate.
Cleaning tip for sink: Equal amounts of baking soda and vinegar include a drop of dish soap, let it set for 10 minutes. Works like a charm.
Oh awesome!!! Thank you!! I will try that!!!
Your welcome. Your videos are inspiring, I started decluttering and donating items for the last four years. It take times, I've found having less is more. More time with family... ect.
The vintage dryer instructions would look super cute if your framed it and hung it up on the laundry room!
Those brackets look like the ones that I had to hook my pull down ironing board to my door.
If you don’t use the sink - can it be removed? Save space for a folding table or bench perhaps... 😁
Sinks are used for the drain of the washing machine... This is where the wet bathing suits should go to get rinsed and hung above it on a clip hanger. A board cover can add more folding room.
@@susanhenshaw639 you do not need a sink for the washer drain. I do not have a laundry sink.
For your sink, use bicarbonated soda and lemon - let it soak for 10 minutes and it will lift the dirt. (:
Could you do a video revisting the laundry room to see how you kept it up? Thanks for the video!
Me encantan tus videos!!! . Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
Yo tambien!
Yes, give the CLR a try, it's meant to be used on mineral stains, rust and other tough to get out stuff...so it might work on your sink.
I would paint it. Paint the bathroom next to the laundry room the same yellow and frame old dryer instructions
Do you have a ping pong table? No? Then, the ping pong balls need to go! You only bought them because of the emoji faces probably, right? Well here's some emoji faces for you, so you can let those go! 😃😄😁😂😍😊😚😌😂😁😁
Use the works toilet bowl cleaner on the sink
a light gray or white that are the colors that are in trend right now will brighten the room and maybe make you keep the hoarding away.GBY
Actually.... The compliment color to yellow is.... 💜💜💜💜💜💜!!!
Yes hang the plate up!
Use the organic laundry detergent first and let then go.
