    I just want to say, this recipe is the best! I did 3 attempts.
    1st time: using 2.5cups of sugar and coconut cream and followed remaining directions to the T and it was perfection! Made in a 6inx6inx2in pan and was able to do 3 trays.
    2nd time: changed recipe to 2cups sugar. Made in 8inx4in bread pan and was able to make 3 pans. It was too sticky.
    3rd time: went back to 1st time ingredients and did 4 batch the night b4 for a party. Was able to make 4 half trays (11inx9in). Let it cool room temp overnight. I cut it in the morning and covered tray in seran wrap. It was still perfect in 97degree weather! Didn't melt, didn't turn sticky. Everyone complimented how good these were. Thank you for this recipe!!

    Thanks for sharing. I made some and my family loves it. Btw I have a 3 layer steamer and was wondering if it’s good to use all three layers at the same time to steam?

    • @ZoeyandVFam
      @ZoeyandVFam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I wouldn’t recommend as the humidity/steam from upper layer may make the cook layer soggy or “wet” looking.

    How much would 1 batch make? About a small aluminum tray do you think? Love all the vibrant colors!

    • @ZoeyandVFam
      @ZoeyandVFam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I have not tried with evaporate milk so I am unsure. Also you may not get the same taste if not using coconut milk. You may also need to grease your pan if not using replacing coconut milk.

    Mine is super rubbery. Did u think I cook too long

    • @ZoeyandVFam
      @ZoeyandVFam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should not be rubbery, should be soft like what I showed in video. I don’t think over steaming can cause this, maybe you added too much tapioca starch?? Was it hard?

    Hi,
    I made them and they were perfect however, it was a teeny tiny bit hard. How do I make them softer? Did I refrigerate them too long? I place them in the fridge for almost 2 hours before cutting and eating them.

    • @ZoeyandVFam
      @ZoeyandVFam  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I’m not sure why yours were hard. Where they not covered when placed in refrigerator? If so that may be the reason. These even after cut if placed in tight container stays soft for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.

    I followed all your instructions, but mine came out too sticky even though it did taste good! Do you think it's the coconut milk brand or should I use cold water instead of room temperature water?

  • @bbxy2418
    @bbxy2418 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, I tried this recipe, but it turned out to be very oily. Is that what you like? Also, would your recipe still work if I just used 2 cans of coconut milk instead of 3?

    • @ZoeyandVFam
      @ZoeyandVFam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, what type of coconut milk did you use? If oily, try a different brand with less fat content. Yes you can add less coconut and substitute it with water but 3/4 the amount.

    • @bbxy2418
      @bbxy2418 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ZoeyandVFam I used the exact coconut cream you used actually. I thought maybe it was that cream style that made it oily? Actually, I kept it in the fridge over night and the oiliness did tone down lol.

    • @ZoeyandVFam
      @ZoeyandVFam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Next time try coconut milk for less oily. To me it was not oily using coconut cream. Coconut cream does have a fatter content than coconut milk.
