I love this guy's channel. I've been battling ocd this year & his advice has been helping me a lot & understanding what ocd is along with going counseling & taking good medication that has decreased my ocd & compulsions a lot.

It feels too real to shrug it off

    • @magreaper

It can indeed feel very real sometimes, but if you begin to look at those thoughts more nonchalantly, the more confident you will feel in believing that they have no power whatsoever over what happens to you. I still struggle, but I started proving to myself that these methods do work. If some overtly complex ritualistic thought I feel the need to act out comes along, I try my best to shrug it off. As you do this more and more you’ll train your brain to understand that these aren’t real threats. Hope this helps :)

Hey I was wondering what to do when I just get overwhelmed and then at some point really just need to talk to someone, and it’s too embarrassing to ask my parents for a therapist. ❤thx you’ve helped me a lot.

What about when you can't keep up with the ocd and you keep becoming unaware that you in an ocd attack😢
I experience this,it keeps changing to different kind of ocd,
I love the maybe maybe not idea, but when I don't recognize the new one,I become unaware in doin compulsive behaviors,in a state of the terror that drives me,untill it completely deflates me,and then spend days excausted ,depressed, even despair,

Hello Jackie, it's okay. You can be mild for yourself. Rome wasn't built in a day. You'll be more and more conscious of it; it's a skill like anything else.
