There are a few types of the "red mist", the one for the Triceratops was powering up, and the one on the Direwolves and the Allosaurus is marking which one is the pack alpha. Some of the species have a game-play mechanic when you have a few together.
i love pack animals the best, now only if the pathfinding wasn't so atrocious....
The wolves also get the power-up pack buff glow when they all howl, and then they do absolutely stupid amounts of damage when they start attacking you

I'm so glad I decided to check out Ark after you guys watched all the trailers for it. There is a serious adjustment period when none of the controls make sense, everything will quite happily and easily murder you, and it's hard to make heads or tails of how to do what you have to do lol...but if you stick it out and learn all you can by either trial-and-error or lookin stuff up online...there's SO much depth to this game.
I am an absolute addict when it comes to base-building, and the more I learn about how to play around the systems that seem limited at first...the crazier the stuff I've been building lol. And there are SO many different types of dinos and animals, each one usually having some unique benefit to them. Dung beetles can produce fertilizer WAY faster and more efficiently than a compost bin, snails can produce two pretty crucial resources for you, and dire bears can help you harvest honey more safely and efficiently so you can make the stuff to FEED those picky-ass snails lol. Currently working on getting all of the above so I can become super self-sufficient in my massive castle built into the side of a mountain, lol.
So I guess what I'm saying is...thank you guys, lol! If not for your video watching the trailers, I probably wouldn't have ever tried Ark out...and I've been having LOADS of fun over the past few weeks. I think I'm gonna be playing this for...well, quite a while lol.

26:27 thylacoleos aren't actually in the family of cats. They belong to the order of Marsupials which include kolas, opossums, and wombats. A lot of people thought it was related to cats but it isn't. They went extinct about 30 thousand years ago. At 29:03 that isn't a whale but a massive and ii mean massive fish called the Leedsichthys and it went extinct around 165 million years ago. At 29:38 those megalodons are equipped with tek saddles that shoot lazers and these is pretty a reference to austin powers Dr Evil.

the thylacoleo also has a very good bleed damage and drains 5% of a creature's health in 5 seconds in the game
and the leedsichthys hates boats and will try to destroy them, but it will also let you swim right up to it and scrape it's flesh away
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Also the broodmother (giant green spider) 12:23, the megapithecus (King kong), 13:06 and the dragon 14:08 are the bosses of the island and which we have to defeat them in order to unlock the tek armor (what you call power ranger armor). We have no choice if we want to break the level cap for our survivors. There is another boss on the island but can only be fought if you beat the main 3 bosses. Besides we have rockets, guns, and dinos to take them. I did it before against the giant spider and walked away with all my creatures. The stronger the boss the better the loot and the bigger they are the harder they fall. Then theres the dodo rex. Its stronger than a lot of the bosses but it isn't classed as a boss. Its an event creature that can random spawn on the island only during Halloween and can run a rampage on someone's base. When one spawns in we have to go find it and kill it before it lets out hell on the island. also the 3 main bosses are part of a simulation to test your strength to see you have a chance to defeat the AI that controls the island the overseer. Its the 4th boss on the island. It can take the forms of the other 3 bosses to use against you. The overseer in lore is the AI the is in charge of what happens to on the island deciding if a creature should life or die. If you defeat the overseer it will say you are the chosen one. I can explain a bit more if you want to or you can do a reaction video to ark boss lore videos to see what's going on in the story.

i guess im early this time. but Dino's + base building + taming + underwater dino's and building IS AMAZING - don't play on official though cuz you might get rushed Xd my favorite dino is the therizinosaurus (the long nailed one)

The story of this game is really amazing, it has evolve and it is developing with the time of updates and dlc, I advise you to react to all "ascension" ("the ends") to make you a better overview of the story

18:40 the mist means that specific animal is an alpha of its species, it has more health and does more damage, it also usually a higher level than the surrounding area usually spawns

Having to ride on them creatures is amazing. Traveling with a direwolf would be a absolute favorite of mine. So many fantastic creatures.
There's a challenge ARK, Aberration, which takes place entirely underground. The best early-game mount is a pack of Ravagers - Hyena direwolves. A bit annoying to herd around but so awesome to charge into battle with.

Im loving Ark. Me and my friends are having a ton of fun. Hopefully Ark 2 will have a better building system, cuz im not a big fan of the system in the first one. And more tutorials, cuz you have to look most things up to figure out how things work and what things do in the first one.
Been waiting for this one all week! Plenty of kids wanted to be a paleontologists when they were younger, and I was happily one do those kids.
Now that I’ve done some higher education, I realized geology totally sucks, and modern zoology, biology, and biochemistry served as a more efficient career path. Dinosaurs still hold a special place in my heart through, as do prehistoric animals. Give me a Rex over a Sedimentary rock any day.
That aside, here’s some paleontology facts on some of the species on the ARK! Most Ark species are based on real dinosaurs, just adapted to the games setting. It was a nice welcome to have you guys pretty on point with the pronunciations, Latin is a funky language. I’ll try to cover as many creatures as am aware of, ARK is way too big a game to cover every single one.
5:40 Giganotosaurus or the “Southern Lizard” was one of the few dinosaurs larger than Tyrannosaurus. It wasn’t as big as it is in game, it it was a few feet longer and a few inches taller. The other bigger carnivore was of course, Spinosaurus.
7:11 Oviraptor meaning “egg thief” was a small little raptor that likely fed on eggs. Remember Kulu-Ya-Ku from monster hunter? He’s actually based on this guy.
8:50 Gallimimus another one from Jurassic Park, the Tyrannosaurus was chasing them in JP 1. They’re the dinosaur equivalent of an ostrich.
21:04 Diplocalus was an amphibian dating back to before the dinosaurs in the Carboniferous period. In game he kinda acts like a diving buddy, keeping your oxygen from getting too low by giving you his.
21:15 Kaprosuchus was a cheetah gator. It could sprint on land nearly as well as it could swim, and that is kind terrifying. His name means “boar alligator “ due to his long legs.
33:01 Megalania, another ancestor of modern lizards. The largest lizard ever walk the earth it was up to 23 feet long. Scary stuff. The ones in ARK are highly venomous, inflicting “mega rabies” on nearly anything they bite.
8:21 Dimetrodon actually wasn’t a dinosaur at all, it’s actually related to us! It’s a part of a small subset of animals called synapsids or “mammal like reptiles”. They had smooth skin and warm blooded metabolism like us, but stout legs and hips that waggled like a reptile. In game they are living air conditioners and heaters, allowing you to sit in blistering cold or hot weather nearly nude without detriments.
1:03 Gigantopithicus is most likely known as “King Louie” in the Jungle Book. It was a massive primate about 9.8 feet tall. So yes, you could theoretically ride one.
1:55 Mesopithicus on the other end was minuscule. A happy little prehistoric monkey and one of our ancestors. In game you can keep one of your shoulder as a pet: have then pick locks or throw poo at people.
13:25 Arthoploura was indeed a giant centipede. Surprisingly enough, it was likely herbivorous - albeit exceedingly venomous. It was alive during the time of giant insects called the Carboniferous period. It also includes giant dragonflies, beetles, and spiders.
3:41 Beelzebufo ampinga was a massive prehistoric toad. It ate baby tyrannosaurs as a snack, with its name translating to “Devil toad” or “the frog from hell” in Latin.
1:25 Doedicarus was a subspecies of Glyptodont, and is an ancestor to modern armadillos. They did in fact have that spiky tail in history, although I doubt they could roll into balls like Sonic the hedgehog. I’ve got one in my current save named Daisy, and they help gather lots of stone for construction.
10:25 Castroides was another prehistoric animal, a rodent this time. Colloquially they were known as simply “the giant beaver”, and in game serve as an excellent wood gatherer.
11:15 The Wooly Rhinoceros, another good old ice age animal. These things are closely related to horses like real rhinos, just fuzzy.
3:05 Megaceros, the giant deer. They indeed had antlers that were that big. They didn’t do them much good though, as primitive humans would abuse the fact that they couldn’t hide in forests and hunted them to near extinction.
3:07/34:41 The Dire Wolf (A dirus) actually wasn’t a wolf, just an exceedingly large canine. It was in fact an ancestor to modern wolves, and served as the primary rival of the ever so famous Smilodon: A.K.A the Sabretooth tiger. They of course weren’t large enough to ride on in reality, it were still pretty big. An animal that’s 4 feet tall on its fours is still pretty big. Luckily ARK let’s us live our giant wolf dreams by making them big enough to ride. The one perfect tamed in game was named Fenris, after the great black wolf of Norse mythology himslef.
11:45 The short faced bear or “dire bear” (Arctodus pristinus) was in fact a real bear. Being a terrifying 10 ft tall on its hind legs it was in fact big enough to ride. It was such a effective predator is stole kills from dire wolves and Sabretooth like it was a slow Tuesday. In game they can successfully steal honey from giant bees, which is used for dinosaur kibble.
32:46 Megatherium, the giant ground sloth. This is the guy Sid from Ice Age wishes he was. Another top animal of the mammal era, nothing would mess with a giant sloth. Dire wolves, sabers, even short faced bears and cave lions would stand aside for these guys. Good thing they were herbivorous. The ARK ones are based on the theory that they may have been omnivores, and these guys love killing and eating bugs. They’re even get a damage buff against them!
6:02 Kairuku were a genus of penguins hailing from good old New Zealand. They were about as tall as your average dude at around 5’7. In game they are an excellent source of organic polymer, which is used for late game guns and technology, hence why you see them being bashed with a wooden club.
9:21 Terror Birds, one of the many rivals of the Sabretooth tiger. These things were massive killer ostriches, reaching up to nine feet tall. They could chase you down and peck you to death like it was nothing.
7:50 Procoptodon was indeed a big ole’ Kangaroo. Not much to say about this one aside from the fact that in game, they act as nursery mothers. They will take care of your baby creature by hiding them in their pouch. You can even stick a fellow player in there!
20:46 Chalicotherium was a weird ancestor to modern horses. It was like if a gorilla had a baby with a horse with those massive arms, not the most successful mammal to have existed - but definitely one do the coolest looking ones.
18:45 Pelegornis, and an ancestor to modern waterfowl. It was a massive seagull like bird with little teeth in its beak. Having a wingspan of 21ft it was indeed a big bird.
26:32 Thylacoleo, or “pouch lion”. It was a predatory marsupial that in Ark, looks like big old murder cat. In reality they were pretty small, about the size of a medium leopard. In ARK they stick to redwood trees and drop down on anything that strays too close.
28:28 Equus in Ark are simply the genus name for horses in general turned into an animal, but a prehistoric horse did in fact exist. It was in fact closer related to zebra that a horse, but that’s semantics. Equus Scotti was its name, and it was a massive horse around 6.2 or so ft tall on all fours.
30:42 Daeodon, the “Hell Pig”. Closely related to modern hippos it was a force to be reckoned with. They were such efficient killers that their extinction was due to global temperatures, not their competition. Imagine a 5.5 ft tall murder hog and you’ve got yourself a Daeodon. In ARK they functions as battle healers, taking in massive quantities of food and healing their allies within their AOE.
32:28 Hyenadon, another real life animal. They were pretty small, nothing more than two or so feet tall. You can have a pack of up to eight of them in game, all of which are at your beck and call.
19:34 Tapejara, a small pterosaur meaning “The old one”. It was actually pretty small at around a 4ft wingspan. ARK’s version however is huge, and can cling to walls and allow a second rider to shoot from the back.
6:51 Compies, every JP fans worst nightmare. Compsognathus (rooted from the Greek word for elegant) was the smallest dinosaur, or at least one of he smallest. The largest specimens could be as big as turkey’s.
18:13 Allosaurus, one of my personal favorite dinosaurs. It’s name means “different lizard”, and was one of the top predators of the Jurassic period. With a massive 90 degree jaw width and saw toothed teeth, it could shred prey. Also, it was more than two meters tall.
The red glowing you saw in game is the “alpha buff”. Many of arks predators can gain a bonus of you tame multiple members, creating a pack. The highest level Dino will act as pack leader, and gain a buff in combat. And yes, the wolves get an alpha pack bonus too - whenever the alpha howls.
21:35 Pachyrhinosaurus, meaning “thick nose lizard” was known for its massive snout. In Ark, they can emit pheromones capable of calming targets, or forcing them into a fight.
32:23 Yutyrannus, meaning “feathered tyrant” was another one of our largest evidenced dinos with feathers. These guys are your boss fighting Dino’s, with a attack buff AOE roar that helps your army of Rexes slaughter giant spiders and King kongs.
2:16 “Pachy” is the shortened version of pachycephalosaurus: meaning “thick-headed lizard”. The classic headbutt dinosaur. There were plenty of variations on them, like Stygimoloch. Regardless, we love our tiny headbutt dinos.
4:40 Quetzalcoatlus was the largest flying animal to ever have lived. With a massive wingspan of 36ft, it would be terrifying if it was alive today.
5:10 Mosasaurus was one of the largest marine mammals to ever exist, being smaller than the one in Jurassic World and in game, but still pretty large. Modern day monitor lizards are actually their descendants.

The Devs probably knew the Dinos they put in the game weren't going to be realistic so they made them like a different species of originals ones, Helena Walker (One of the Ark explorer notes authors) listed them under new species in her dossiers

For example: _Tyrannosaurus rex_ is listed in game under a different species name _Tyrannosaurus dominion_ or “dominant tyrant lizard” instead of “tyrant lizard king”.
I just ended up using the actual species names they were based on due to memory. I haven’t memorized all of the ARK’s species names - yet.

There is a guy called NeddyTheNoodle he makes the dossiers in all the Ark's come to live the dossiers tell stories of people who once lived on the Ark's.So far he has only done the Island map and Scorched Earth map. But he is still working on the rest. You guys should definitely check him out!

Glad you enjoyed the ark dinos, there's plenty more that weren't mentioned, most dinos have individual special abilities, along with individual product farming abilities. The video you watched appeared to be created by someone within a PVP tribe, as there is also PVE gameplay (player vs environment - no player vs player) you can team up with other tribes, and where you can in your own time build your own bases, tame dinos, and eventually fight the big boss dinos of the islands ( King Kong - megapithicus, was one boss, the large dragon also was a big boss, along with the erm, broodmother - giant spider ) you mentioned some dinos had flames on their back, this is when there are more than one of the same dino, the highest level dino is the alpha of the pack, alphas are identified by flames across their back. Hope someday you'll both jump in the game and rule jurassic park.

My favorite creatures in ARK to play with are Doedicerus, Equus, Dire Wolves, Argentavis, Pegomax,T Rex and compies. My hunting pack is me riding a Dire Wolf with a pack of Compies and Pegos. The Giganotosaurus are able to kill a high-powered Rex, which I found out the hard way when one killed my favorite Rex Tiny Tim in 6 bites and then me, are huge but tameable in game. Taming and using the abilities of the dinos you tame is really fun. Glad you enjoyed watching some of them in action. I hope you check out the lore in that playlist I left you.

In my tribe I used to breed Meso’s. Had two lines, one we called the “backpack”. Surprisingly effective at internal base defense if strong enough.
Completed the entire series on ps4/5, all maps and bosses beat. Headed over to Xbox to do it all over again lol. Welcome to the Ark family ✌️❤️🥰

Even tho ark is more of a survival/action game it has a story and lore that it's very deep and incredibly hard to find in the very game itself, I recommend to watch needythenoodle survival stories to figure it out with cool reenacted videos that not only explain why are prehistoric creatures chilling around with humans that have super advance tech suits and weapons, but also many things like were is all of this happening, when in time is this supposed to be happening and even how many of the mechanics of the game where "invented" by survivors that lived and struggled like the player does but many years ago, what they left behind and what happened to them
Also the glowy things in the sky are the 3 Obelisks of most Story Arks and custom arks the exception being aberration There's only a purple obelisk and the others are either plugged up to a warp portal or have been severely damaged in fact in certain areas of aberration you can hear sounds that sound like something is trying to power up another Ark with no obelisk is Genesis 1 and 2

I watched your first reaction to trailers, watching you guys reaction to the creatures having not played the game, so not knowing what the creatures bring and benefit you in the game has been amazing... I've played since 2015 and the progression has been amazing.... the glow off Allosaurus and Dire Wolf was the leader of the Pack... Highest lvl
yes you can poop its can be used as fertilizer for growing plants as well as your dinos , my favorites is sarco which is a giant crocodile baryonc it has a stun attack in water, thyla which is a giant saber tooth that can climb walls or trees , argentaves which is like a giant falcon and can also pick certain dinos up at 2:51 there is a path that leads down to a cave which that specific cave is called the cave of the skylord which its the scarcest because most caves will you let bring dinos in but skylord is to small and there is death traps every where which you can only do it with a shot gun while on foot which caves are some of the hardest places there are centepides, spiders, bats, scorpions, and some of leeches that drain health and stamina

When ARK was first released, it was a survival game with some tameable dinosaurs (and a few non-dinosaur critters). The dinosaurs were largely just there for the wow factor. As the game developed and they kept adding animals to the roster, new animals started receiving special abilities that made them extra useful when tamed. For example, those giant dung beetles eat poop from any other creature (and ALL creatures pooped right from the start, including players - that's why they showcased the toilet when it was added) and automatically convert it into fertilizer for crops (normally, you'd have to collect it and mix it with thatch over time).
Anyway, as the roster grew and grew with more and more specialized critters, they eventually needed to update some of the original dinos so that they, too had specialties. That's what the TLC passes were about.

The Oviraptor in this game steals eggs, because the name Oviraptor means "Egg Thief". It was named that, because it's first fossils were found with eggs and Paleontologists thought that it stole the eggs of a Protoceratops, but it turns out that it was just a parent that died protecting it's eggs from most likely a sandstrom, because the environment that Oviraptor lived in, was a desert. It lived in Mongolia

It's Giganotosaurus, not Gigantosaurus. People often forget the O. And in real life, T-Rex was bigger than Giganotosaurus, because it was almost 3t heavier than Giganotosaurus and size of animals is mesured by weight. By height and length they were basically the same

The Dimetrodon is a mobile heating and AC unit, though not nearly as good (or as cute) as the Otter. The Dung Beatles aren't usually hostile and will process feces into fertilizer and oil which makes them an excellent utility critter.
If Dung beetles leave us alone and stick to the poop cleaning then we are all good 🤗

Interesting fact both the dire wolves and bears were real animals like the sabertooth and were actually bigger than arks version also would love you guys to check out the lore videos that cover the dossiers because the story for ark is facinating but half the people dont know the full story because the dossiers are so hard to find sometimes.
Also, half of the dossiers are written in ancient dialects of foreign languages, because a few characters are from the past. They really went all out when they made those.

Ark is such an amazing game. The mods that the community make are insane. If you can think of something that would work well with the game then theres probably a mod for it. I have soo many mods that add dinosaurs to the game that arent in it by default that with 300 hours into the game i still run into creatures ive never seen before. Endless entertainment.
Some of the best trailers in my opinion are the TLC which means a rework for existing animals like the Direwolfs you like so much ; you can see in the first trailers wolfs look grumpy with some "burned feathers" textures but in the last ones they have not only a better shape with real fur but also better perks.
Here the devs want them to be more of a pack hunters than they previously are, the more the pack is large the better there resistance also your Alpha/Omega f the pack can howl to buff their damage for all.
Every "dinos" have their advantages making them perfect for harvesting ressources, others as a hunter or a really specific tool, making the life of the player easier ... as long as they know how to tame them !

I've been playing ark for at least two or three years and those creatures in the videos are only like a tenth of the creatures that are in the game. Some of the new creatures that were added like the Shadowmane can easily take out T-rexes and pretty much anything else. another thing you might want to look at is the ark lore because there is a lot of stuff with that, that is cool, a good channel to watch the lore is "NeddyTheNoodle" who makes in game video of the lore.
Have you guys checked out the trailer for the Ark Survival Evolved Animated Series? I'm super excited for that show!

Ark has over 176 creatures to tame each coming with their own strengths and weaknesses, Although I got my favorite creatures to ride around or hang out with at the base. But having a trex as a big sofa potato is nice. I would recommend creatures that can't fly travel by ground I know dangerous but it's rewarding I have found many secrets and caves I wouldn't have found by air.
Also arks lore explains everything to why the robots are there or why the maps came to be, it all can be found with explore notes on the story maps in ruins/caves.
Also building is wonky in the start but now i'm making a mansion for me and my companion creatures. I recommend a private server to play with friends or in pairs of two.

Tlc Passes are reworks of old dinos like the Dire wolf's got the pack buff bonus and rexes got a Roar buff and Spinos can now walk on two legs and they also got a New Texture too make them look better . Also those mist yess they are supposedly hormones too indicate likenthe red smoke means the pack alpha leader and the green means it attracts dinos to that area and the red orange mist makes things mad around like a rage Sickness

Sadly enough "penguin clubbing" is actually a thing in the game. The penguins give a special rare resource known as Organic Polymer and one of the best ways to get the most of the resource out of them is by beating them to death with clubs.
For the Dimetrodon, the reason why they were all in their underwear is due to the creature's ability. The creature provides natural heating/cooling when standing next to them. If you have a group of them leveled up properly, you can stay next to them in freezing temperatures in the game and not die from hyperthermia.
Fun Fact: The Giant Spider (The Broodmother), King Kong (Megapethicus), and The Dragon are all end game boss creatures that you have to defeat in order to gain access to final area in the main game map.
The gigantopithicus we also call Bigfoots. They received a visual overhaul a couple years ago so they look more like apes and less like grouchy old hairy men. The doed is actually pronounced "dee-doh-cure-us" but because of the way it's spelled no one ever pronounces it right. Small shoulder pets like the mesopithecus can wear helmets and get the armor effect, and skins can be equipped on those helmets so they look like they're wearing hats. Any hat the player can wear, a shoulder pet that can equip a helmet can also wear. My featherlight (charge light pet) wears a high armor ascendant-rarity riot helmet, and the armor has saved its feathery little butt more than a few times.
Pachy's full name is Pachycephalosaurus. Their headbutt attack does torpor damage so they can knock out other creatures.
The giant deer is called Megaloceros. Only the males have antlers, and because of that only the males can even attack. The long-necked swamp beast was a paraceratherium, an ancient relative of the rhino of all creatures.
Yes, quetzals can have platform saddles and were once used to haul even brontos across the maps. Unfortunately, Wildcard went through and massively nerfed the movement speed of all the fliers, so while quetzals are still the weight champions, they are slow as snails. They're also difficult to tame because they never, _ever_ actually land.
Oviraptors aren't dangerous on their own. They steal eggs, though. Good way to steal wild wyvern eggs from the wyvern trenches without aggroing every wild wyvern on the map. Or stealing eggs from enemy tries and hijacking their breed lines.
Dimetrodons in large groups act as AC units, they can raise or lower the air temperature around them. Handy for staying alive in extreme environments and even hatching eggs. Dung beetles are actually important, feed them poop and they make fertilizer for crops
Terror birds can't fly, they have a slow fall
Mantas are highly aggressive, yet they're tamed passively. The hard part is keeping them from attacking you, and they do a lot of damage. They're also very fragile... If they're out of water for even a few moments they die. The giant spider was the Broodmother and is one of the three bosses of the Island; you kill her, not tame her. The Megapithecus (giant gorilla) is the second boss; the third is the dragon from the next trailer. Dragon is the hardest of the three.
The leeches carry swamp fever, too, so they can make your character very sick. And the giant fire-breathing thing was the Dodorex, an event spawn that is part dodo, part t-rex, and all mean. Normally they only spawn every third night during the Halloween event, but during certain other events they can be summoned with a craftable item and tamed for about a half hour
The beams of light in the sky are supply drops. They show where a supply crate is descending, last on the ground for 100 seconds, then vanish. The Titanosaurus is the largest creature that can be tamed in the game, but it's a temporary tame; they refuse to eat and starve to death within a day real time. They're also tamed by shooting them in the head with cannonballs until they pass out. And they can smash through any building materials, even tek, which makes them devastating weapons for those who do manage to tame them.
Allosaurus hunt in groups of three, and the orange glow shows which one is the pack leader. That one also has a bleed effect when it bites, which can do massive damage and makes you move really slowly till it wears off.
Diplocaulus (the salamander) is a walking air tank, lets you stay underwater longer. Kaprosuchus are the pouncing crocodiles and they are a nightmare in the swamp
Pachyrhinosaurus produce pheromones that either calms enemies so they stop attacking, or induces other nearby enemies to attack the pachyrhino's enemies.
Electric jellyfish. I hate them. And everyone hates pegomastax, the little klepto shits. If you catch them and kill them fast enough you can get your stuff back (except kibble, which they eat instantly), but if they get away, you'll never see your stuff again.
Basilosaurus is a whale, actually :) Troodons are little shits, their bites do torpor and put you to sleep.
Thyla is the marsupial lion of Australia. Not a cat, but they look like one so everyone calls them cats. Be very careful if you fly in the redwoods, because they can and do pounce on you off trees like that, without you even seeing them beforehand. One of my friends didn't believe me when I told him that, until he was flying through the redwoods and had a thyla come flying at his face.
Leedsichthys hates rafts XD Go to sea on a raft on the Island, Center, Genesis, or Crystal Isles maps, you run the risk of attracting the attention of a leeds, and then you can kiss your raft goodbye
Daeodon, the hog from hell. Yes, they have a healing ability. They're usually part of boss fight teams to heal the attacking dinos on the fly
Tek Cave has only one route. Get past the high level wild creatures and you can face the Overseer to ascend off the Island, as well as getting 5-15 new levels your character can reach depending on whether you fight it at gamma (easy), beta (medium), or alpha (hard) difficulty
Yutyrannus has two roars. One induces fear and scares off enemies, and one that invigorates allies, giving them health regen and a substantial damage buff. Boss fight dino teams usually include one yuty for the courage roar, one daeodon for the healing, and 18 high damage rexes to actually fight the boss.
Aberrant creatures from the Aberration map all glow. I love the glowing dinos.
After the model/ability updates, the rex's roar literally scares the poop out of you XD
Glow on the wolves means they're getting a pack buff. In large numbers they do stupid amounts of damage XP
That was the death roll on the sarco. Its actual purpose is to rip off chunks of flesh/detach limbs so the croc can eat them.Those last two trailers were showing model and ability updates on some of the creatures (the TLC passes).
The sharks were wearing tek armor, like the tek armor for the rex and mosasaurus. And the thing on Dr Evil's shoulder was a jerboa from Scorched Earth. They alert on changes in the weather

Fun fact: Real direwolves are no longer wolves. For a long time, we assumed direwolves were a subpecies of prehistoric wolf, living directly alongside the prehistoric Eurasian grey wolves that eventually evolved into modern wolf species. Now, thanks to some "mummified" remains found in La Brea tarpits, as well as some analysis of fur strands found in a separate tar site, it's been determined that the species was actually a _very_ large species of wild dog. Think "looks like a coyote mixed with a pit bull, but with red fur and wider teeth."
If the new studies pan out, it would make the dire "wolf" the largest American wild dog species to date.

So if you didn't know this but dung beetles are quite useful for farming not only do they keep your base clean of poop but they turn that poop into fertilizer for free and you get some oil so if you had a small or medium sized base and your into farming which is a great idea since many benefits for farming everything from healing potions to kibble making to um posion also the giant bee will turn into a beehive that will irrigate nearby crops so long as it has rare flowers in the hive it'll also produce honey which is used in recipes lastly the snails when tamed will produced snail paste which can be a substitute for cementing paste only difference is snail paste has a decay timer so might want to put it in a fridge

The terror birds, allosaurus and diplocalus nd hyenadon are some of my favourites in the base game.. 1. The mist you saw on the allosaur was to signify he is the pack leader. 2. The terror birds cant fly but rather flutter and only downwards Haha... the diplocalus are useless on land but in the water they're fast and act as a natural but organic oxygen tank, dont ask how and I dont wanna know hahah the thylacoleo are like the meta creature of the game Haha

Ark to me is alot like Minecraft in the sense everything has its purpose and use. It's awesome to figure out how all the creature's work and how to use them efficiently like how Direwolves, Raptors and Allosaurs have a pack bonus, Dung beetles make you fertiliser for crops, Beelzebufo is great for killing bugs and making paste, Dimetrodon is a great climate control unit to incubate eggs you get when breeding dinos and so many more.
My favourite creature's are the Argentavis because who doesn't love em? The Terror birds because they're pretty fast, do fair bit of damage and have a great glide ability and the Thylocoelao if that's how you spell it
The extinct giant Mountain Lion native yo Australia, which is a super versatile creature in any Ark that has them, great for travelling around, fighting and especially good in land caves. They're great
Some animals' names in this game, aren't their full name. For example, Pachy is short for Pachycephalosaurus. And I think that Triceratops in this game is just called Trike

Pachycephalosaurus, packy-sef-a-low-saurus. Don't feel that one is one of the more well known dinos that most people can't pronounce. Most people call it a packy spelled with the "ch" and not "ck". Problem with this is as you see later in the video is there is other dinos with "pachy" as part of their name. Same with deinosuchus and deinonychus.
The quetzalcoatlus IRL can not carry stuff like that, also they stood upright and basically a flying giraffe that presumably fed like a stork walking in the shallows grabbing anything and everything its beak could grab. Also its named after the Aztec god.
Giganotosuarus, JY-gə-NOH-tə-SOR-əs, and since most people can't read that either, gee-ga-no-toe-saurus, although most will pronounce it giga instead of geega and it is normally just called giga. It is also no where near that big IRL, lol. IRL its only estimated to be slightly longer and taller than the rex. A rex could in theory (since that is all we got) kill a giga if they lived near each other at the same time. There is actually a dino called gigantosaurus which is pronounced geh-gant-oh-saurus.
Terror Bird is just a generic name or a group of large mostly thought to be carnivorous birds (some might have been omnivorous or herbivorous) containing many different species. Assuming a predatory nature they were the apex predators of their time period. In game they can't actually fly, they just glide. The largest species of terror bird found is the Titanis walleri, which stood a good 7ft tall and weight around 330lbs with sharp claws and a nasty hooked beak.
16:23 the thing in the sky is a loot drop coming down, most of the pillars of light you might see in the background are drops, the three with the massive floating structures are the obelisk.
In game the Kapro's pounce makes it one of the more annoying creatures in the game and specifically the swamp. It will grab you off of shorter mounts then runs around chewing on your until you deal enough damage to it to make it let go, and while it is doing this its making you agro more creatures normally.
In game the ammonite releases a cloud that debuffs the player making every creature in a large radius attack you even if they are normally passive except tames.
The different colored "mist" or "auras" denote different things based on which animals it is. for pack animals the red aura denotes the alpha (highest level in the group) which also buffs the animal, yellow is another buff, purple is a fear and debuff effect. The triceratops also has a red colored buff it gets when an "apex" is nearby (rex, giga, spino, and yuty). A yellow circular aura is a stun.

As for Ark next, you could watch Ark Ascensions, aka Ark endings. There is currently Five of them since Scorched Earth (Second in the story line) wasn't added but will be added in the future months.
Following that, maybe react to Boss battles, maybe even music (because it's amazing lol) and Ark events like Christmas, summer etc.
Also Ark 2 trailer and Ark Animated Teaser trailer (with possibly new trailer coming this September)
Then there is Ark Survival stories by Needy The Noodle, there is currently 8 videos with 6 different explorer notes authors on 2 maps. So plenty to watch. (I seriously can't stop recommending that XD, I feel like one annoying kid 😂)
