There is nothing like the smell of green chile roasting.
I don't know much about chili roasting but on Saturdays at our local(Kansas) farmers market one vendor roasts chilis and it does smell good.
I love eating food while watching these episodes
I live in New Mexico. I live in Albuquerque. El Pinto is fun. Especially because of the atmosphere. There are so many other New Mexican restaurants that are better than El Pinto. We absolutely love certain locations of Garcia's. Other restaurants are great. Padillas, Duran's pharmacy, Duran's station, Mary and Tito's, Barela's Coffee House, and so many more. Especially home cooked New Mexican food.
Yup, spot on.
Yes, there are so many solid NM restaurants. El Patio, Monica's El Portal....
The location is beautiful and open. Could be a good place for an organized party. However, the food in my experience has been way below par compared to other restaurants in town. Maybe if you have a party there, you could have the food catered from somewhere else. 🙂
Indeed. Kitchen must be do better
yeah i live here in albuqurque. Nobody really goes to el Pinto for the food. just for the cool atmosphere honestly.
El Pinto? For real? Lmao
Gross food
Probably 40$ a plate now
Been there 2x in 30 years , it doesn't compare to other places in Albuquerque in my opinion.
They'll bring your plate out after an hour and set it in front of you and say it's hot. But it's cold from sitting out for 30 minutes. It's the same as taco bell .
I've been there 3 times hoping I just had a bad experience. Nope.
The food is gross, and it's fast food served on a plate. Go elsewhere, I don't recommend this place.
Just went to El Pinto. It was barely better than Garcias which is super mid. Seems like it’s gotten worse over the years unfortunately.
We absolutely love certain locations of Garcia's. Other restaurants are great. Padillas, Duran's pharmacy, Duran's station, on 4th Street, Mary and Tito's, Barela's Coffee House, and so many more. Especially home cooking New Mexican food.
This is a joke! El Pinto is not my top pick and I live in Albuquerque!!😂
El Pinto is basically the same as Taco Bell. I so don't recommend it. Beautiful place is dark so you don't see the bugs and dirt.
@@EfiLiveLB7
Did you get bugs and dirt in your food? You can’t compare it to Taco Bell
Right!
So… what is your recommendation?
@@carlosbond5062 Hi! I’m not a New Mexico native, but I like the deli inside the El Super supermarket on Central and Taqueria Mexico off 4th street! Let me know if you check them out! 😊
El Pinto is a lovely location with plenty of ambiance and lush landscaping. It's a great place to take out of town guest because they don't know what kind of food they are getting and will love anything called "New Mexican" food.😉
El Pincha is a tourist TRAP😂😂
We ate a Durans pharmacy, was amazing. Can’t wait to visit again.
Mmmm, roasting green chiles... nothing else in the world smells like that, to borrow a phrase.
As a mexican , i love how americans embrace ourr food . Vamos gabachos !
This New Mexican food not Mexican
It's not even good New Mexican food. There's better places in Albuquerque.
U mean new Mexican. Not that greasy Mexican food.
El Pinto was once good... but not anymore. It's bland and lazy food now. The chili is the flavor... the meat and sauces are flavorless without slopping a bunch of red or green chili on it. It's not the go-to place in Albuquerque anymore.
El Pinto used to be pretty dope. It's gone downhill quite a bit. There's plenty other better New Mexican places in Albuquerque/New Mexico that I prefer going to. I'm from New Mexico too btw.
Any born and raised New Mexican will never tell you, "El Pinto is the best restaurant". It's the exact opposite!!!
The salsa you can buy at Smith's is pretty good.
It's no Bueno.
There's better places.
100%
Born and raised NMexican. Have lived in az the last 11 yrs! When I go back I always go back to El Pinto for the ambience and the Chile adovada ribs! I don’t
Care to eat out much and really enjoy my own Nm cooking/food! I always enjoyed Seferinos but it closed before we left NM.
Who cares about celebrities and presidents. It is everyday people that keep it in business.
As a New Mexican, El Pinto is definitely not on my list of best New Mexican restaurants.
It’s not Mexican food but New Mexican food. A big difference. I agree with most comments that it’s not really that good and pricy but as long as people keep going there it’s jobs for a lot of people so it’s a win for Albuquerque.
Lots of food, lots of people. How can this kitchen manage so many orders. Thanks for the videos.
Love all these people.
Love, love, love green chili chicken enchiladas!!!
I haven't had pork green chili since I lived in Colorado. It's nowhere in new York. Even chorizo is hard to find. I missed southwest food
My girlfriend got food poising from the combination #3
I believe you. That place is so dirty. The drunks don't care though, they serve a lot of alcohol.
Oh, my.
Green chile, not green chiles. Red chile, not red chiles.
Yeah it's not Mexican food either lol
@@beefsupreme6488
It’s New Mexican
What's the problem with pluralizing chile?
You have to try it yourself food is good go and find out for yourself
The New Mexico Beef Jerky co. Is a good restaurant
Yep, that's a great place to eat. All of their new Mexican food and their jerky is wonderful
Yup
Great food I've been there great service
Born and raised in NM El Pinto is ok so is Sadies, they all have their own salsa, just look into who can really give you the red and green experience
I live a Block away. the food is GROSS, Sorry... The owners are very nice though.
Yep I'm not paying 35$ for enchiladas..and it tastes like basic nm food...505 has way better for a 3rd of the cost
@@Cstjo72727 I was wondering if the place is still as busy as we see in the video given how expensive restaurants have gotten. A lot of people aren't eating even fast food anymore due to the price. Even here in Ohio you're not going to pay $35 for a plate of enchiladas.
The food is crap ?
Thanks for the tip
I'm changing my mind
Well, the title of the show isn't "Good kitchens", it's "Big kitchens".
Mmmmm... I miss a good plate of "Christmas"! Been too many years.
Nope, here in Albuquerque we have better places. Cervantes, Durans, Tomasitas, Los Cuatos, Sadie’s, El Modelo etc….. El Pinto does have nice atmosphere.
for any non-locals out there, this place is one of the most beautiful restaurants in town; however, the majority of locals agree that the food is not good. I'm sure the comments below will prove my point. Go for an early or late cocktail & soak in the views, maybe some chips n salsa at most, but go elsewhere for your main course.
"does mexican cuisine..." closes window
Tourist joint.
Agree with other commenters: Good atmosphere, food is average at best.
I've lived here a couple years but known albuquerque for 20 yrs from a nearby town and you can find better tasting and faster service at their endless line of food trucks throughout the city. Last time we went to the restaurant, food was good but not exceptional and took 3 hours from parking to when you leave. Unless you love looks of aesthetics then do you. It's expensive compared to traditional restaurants in the city.
0:31 there are 3000 people living in new mexico?😁😁
Did they say 3000 tickets coming in the line!? More like 30 a night. El Pinto nowadays is a shell of its former self
Everyone in albuquerque knows el pinto sucks. We just take tourists there for the ambiance... the patio... that's it. They have good packaged chile though! The food sucks and it's waaaaay overpriced! Go to padillas or Garcias! Better food, no pretentiousness! They did an article talking about their favorite restaurants in tow. Everyone said other's... they said THEY'RE the best! Self absorbed a holes! If you want $20 nachos...this is your place!
So you had a bad meal. It happens anywhere. And it sounds like your cheap. $20.00 is normal anywhere.
I have to agree. We went there after moving to NM. We were thoroughly disappointed. The service was bad (a table of 20 was getting all the attention). The food wasn't very good either. There's some evidence of this. As we paid our bill, the waitress gave us a free bottle of their branded salsa (as an apology). That salsa wasn't very good either. Maybe I'll give them a 2nd chance, but there are too many other places to try for that to be on the table soon.
@@samueljaramillo4221
"Everyone in albuquerque knows el pinto sucks." Its not just one bad meal.
"$20.00 is normal anywhere." It's $22.50 for a half order of nachos with meat at El Pinto (full is $28.50)...other restaurants' nachos are $15 or less.
@@samueljaramillo4221Not in New Mexico. I can get a full meal of enchiladas and a steak at Garcia's for 20 bucks. And it's amazing
There's better places.
This place is a tourist trap.
awsome team work great looking food
👍👍
Sounds like El Pinto "ain't" that great. I'm AA but I know good Mexican food And... I make "killer" tacos, chicken enchiladas and Spanish rice, ya heard me! 💯💯❤️❤️❤️
I just don't even try to get nm food anymore. I do get a burrito from golden pride once in a while. They act so surly, I sometimes get scared to eat it. I just cook at home.
THEY GO THROUGH TEN TRILLION ZILLION OXYGEN MOLECULES A WEEK!! enough to feed seven football fields!!
is this Sonny Side's voice over
Jesse Blaze Snider I Think ? Sounds Like Sonny I Agee
Hahahaha no mamessss 🤣🤣🤣
Owners comments are painful to listen
Focus on the food
This is definitely not Mexican Food!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡 🤡🙄🙄🙄🙄
I love how all the people they ask about the food are white people, lol. Because this is white people mexican food. Its not bad food! Its just not the best. Now is it beautiful? Yes!? I love going because of the atmosphere and they really do have something special with the fried green chili strips in the appetizer menu.
As a life long resident of Albuquerque, this place is over rated and over priced! not what this show makes it out to! try all the other options!
IS MEXICAN FOOD!.!.....NOW DAYS EVERYBODY COOKS MEXICAN FOOD!
El Pinto is perhaps the worst, most overrated restaurant in ABQ...and I live here
Totally agree this is bull shit of over priced food thats not that good very weak flavor
El pinto is a top restaurant???? Welcome to the world of commercialized bullshit 😂
Sounds like alot of diarrhea
In this part of the video I remember years ago when I worked at a Irish restaurant and one of the cook's Jesse, told me that he can't eat chilies anymore because it burns his stomach so he stopped completely and if he does it very mild chilies, not Jalepanos,or the other hot Mexican types, so I introduced him to Indian, and Thai/Vietnamese style Chili sauses which he really liked, because it wasn't really hot but very good flavor, as I can't eat spicy food but I like mild, excellent flavor at moderate prices. And I don't like Tabasco, because they put to much vinegar and to me it's not worth the price, plain junk. But Spanish people like mild spicy food and black people love there hot sauce on their fried anything, especially fried chicken but eating to much fried food is not very healthy either.
Did you graduate high school?
I go to Taco Bell more than el pinto. Pass.
First of all this food is Not Mexican food. Mexico doesn't have this kind of food
I briefly went through New Mexico years ago driving from Fort Gordon to California and what I know about New Mexico, they are not known for food, and given the fact that New Mexico is so close to Mexico, I can't see how these people would go to a Tex-Mex restaurant when they can make there own Chili, and I make my own Chili, and if you add beans it's called CHILI CON CARNE,but there's a lot of Mexican people here, making Mexican food, and I will buy it on the street, versus going to a Mexican restaurant, same thing, different price, so I buy it, find somewhere to eat,and eat,and enjoy the weather but by in large Mexican food is cheap and very good, as many Mexican people speak English, very good as they are fluent in English as well as Spanish and I have learned how to make Mexican food as they have given me the recipe but they like American food, because it's very different to them, as they can't find it in Mexico, and I don't mean CALIFORNIA, TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, OR ILLINOIS, FLORIDA, GEORGIA, VIRGINIA, NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA, BALTIMORE, WASHINGTON DC,NEW JERSEY, CONNECTICUT, VERMONT, NEW HAMPSHIRE, BOSTON, RHODE ISLAND etc,and what I don't understand is why they go to Spanish restaurants, when they can make it at home but I don't bother asking, as I would look stupid, so I hold my peace and keep my comments to myself and just observe them.
It must have taken your last brain cell 3 weeks to write this.
Chile con Carne is Chile with meat! Beans are Frijoles.
New Mexican food is not Mexican food or Tex Mex. It is New Mexican cuisine.
I stroked out reading that.
@@RorchaksRevenge I agree!
Hey @richardyoung871, learn to take a breath in your writing with periods, dude. This is one long run-on sentence with too many commas. I dare anyone to read your rant in one breath! You should have kept this comment to yourself. It doesn't make sense with all your grammatical and factual errors.
This is a joke el pinto is probably the worst in abq
😂😂😂😂, ofcourse, who makes these restaurants famous? lmao. Garbage.
Albuquerque literally has the worst food in the nation. Chili smothered bland doodoo
You must not be from here
El pinto sucks and way over priced! Best restaurant in Albuquerque is Mac's La Sierra!! Hands down. I've been going there my entire life.
If you guys hand pick it, why don't you guys de-seed the chilli? Idk about new maxican food it's okay most of it is cheap quality. Just pour Chilli on it wtf haha🤣
The seeds are not taken out because most of them disintegrate in the blender or are strained out. Removing the seeds would affect the flavor and heat of the chile.
@FlySky-rb8wb gross🤢🤮 my mother always used to take the seeds out. They dint take them out cause it takes more time I've noticed a lot of new maxican food has no teast so they just dump a bunch of hot chilli to try and give it flavor so hot u don't know what the fuk u eating u just know it's hot haha
@@latinovic505 I don't know where you've been eating, but "no taste" does not accurately describe the New Mexican food I've had. The tamales, enchiladas, posole, and frito pies are the best!
@FlySky-rb8wb I don't knew were you've been eating!?
@FlySky-rb8wb please don't tell me you like that cheesy new mexican music to and u speak span/glish 😆
New Mexican food is a cheap version of Mexican food the green chile is ok they make a big deal of it.
It’s so good they serve it in Australia. It’s not your thing. Don’t criticize.
@@johannalopez2999 it's so not a big deal that it is shipped all over the country.
It is not a cheap version of Mexican food! It’s a variation of Mestizo! It’s a mixture of Mexican and Native American food!
Bet you wouldn't say that shit here
@@brianrobinson9618
It’s shipped all over the world.
El Pinto is a joke of a restaurant. There are much better options in Albuquerque.
Not a fan of your use of manufactured drama. It’s too obvious, bro.
