Thanks for sharing the repairs. I noticed the alternator is a very similar job on the M119 and also the M156 engine cars! Hope you don’t mind me saying, but I noticed some Road dirt on your Anti roll bar 😃 Amazing turn out, really great car. Hopefully will see some repairs in the M156 before long. Best wishes from the Uk 🇬🇧
Well done man. Were you ever a Mercedes tech or tech in general. I ask because it's rare to see a DIY video with someone having a Snap-On digital torque wrench haha.
Awesome video as always! I just performed this same job a week ago on my E55 along with some new motor and tranny mounts, its like a new car now. I'll save this just in case I have to do this again...hopefully not.
Hi! Can you do a buyer’s guide about Mercedes Benz W220? I guess you have already done a video about S65 AMG but I would love to know more about the other engines as well! Nice video as usuall! 👍
What I did to my 211 Wagon E320 alternator was to buy a set of bearings and regulator from bosch and replaced them before they fail and I’m now certain that this oem alternator will last me the next 10plus years
I had to replace the alternator on my E55 like about a month a half ago, it’s running super smooth now! Next is rear brake pads and rotors, such an amazing car tho.
No issues with the alternator but nonetheless, I'm glad I chose an S55 AMG instead of an E55 AMG. The overwhelming majority of E55s I've test driven were thoroughly thrashed and were worn out (I test drove one that barely wanted to move because the transmission was shot). The 'cream puff' examples were overpriced. The S55s, comparatively speaking, were in much better overall condition aesthetically and mechanically, and had fewer miles for the same asking price. The prior owners tended to be much older (50+) and never modified them or abused them.
That's interesting. Fully spells out the difference between S class & E class demographics. Even as obvious as it now seems, I never thought of that with 55 badged cars. That thinking is why I choose an E350 coupe over the e92 BMW's I was shopping for or even Sport package E550 coupes. Some demographics occasionally mod & trash their cars while others leave them alone & drive them with respect. Even with it being "old", you get to start with a clean slate rather than clean up someone's mess.
@@RothBeyondTheGrave I once had an E36 M3 which was fortunately not modified (I was actually the third owner). I prefer to stay away from used vehicles that have been modified as I do not wish to have the headache of "cleaning someone else's mess". These vehicles are reliable enough if you leave them alone. I wanted a faster vehicle than my M3 so I bought an AMG.
@@ssjlkrillin I agree. Not only reliable enough, but also capable enough. I get doing tasteful, subtle mods that don't compromise the usability of the car but for a street driven vehicle that rarely or never sees the track, I'll never get it. I don't need a meth injection or to run e85 to pass someone merging from an on ramp, & the roads everywhere are garbage so I'd like more than an inch of ground clearance along with knowing my suspension can fully travel in all directions in all conditions & never rub or bottom out.
@@RothBeyondTheGrave Yeah, sometimes you cannot do better than the original engineers who designed the vehicle. I learned from past mistakes that if you want a faster car, buy a faster car. The dreaded ABC suspension is amazingly smooth over rough roads and it lends the impression that you can travel faster over these roads. I like having the option to adjust the firmness of the suspension. I may eventually get tired of 516 lbs of torque and may move up to 738 😀
I replaced my alternator a few years ago with a Bosch & now I’m finding myself doing it again today , this time I bought the one from fcp euro with warranty , any ideas why it burnt up ?
Very good Video, but hope i don't have to replace anytihing on mine :D the w211 is just such a beatuy (and beast as AMG) :D love to drive mine in the next weeks fore a few kilometers
Nice CLK63. How did you get the letter for ICBC? Through the dealership or directly from Mercedes? Please point me in the right direction, I got the same car and also live in BC :-)
Nice Day out Tirol, Austria. You have really cool Cars. Have you ever seen Motoren Zimmer out Hamburg, Germany? Sorry, for my bad Englisch. Nice Day and Lg out Tirol
This car only has about 51K miles. This is the start of many problems to come. DO you have a deep pocket? Before you reach 100K mile you can expect to dish out another $10K for other problems.. These kind of cars have a smooth ride but nothing is free.. The older benz have higher quality and longer life. The newer ones are made with less quality because that's how automobile vendors make money. Is the care made in Germany? if it was made in south Africa then you are really in trouble. I discovered a major oil leak coming from the front cover on my C300 engine. The front cover plate bolts weren't even tightened so the oil was flowing past the gasket.. The dealer charged me $4K To tighten those bolts. Never ever buy a benz unless you are a politician .
The AMGmeister knows all there is to know about AMG's , and then some. He maintains his cars very well , doing the work himself . He treats them with respect and most likely will not need deep pockets because he does not neglect or abuse his cars.
Many E55 owners would disagree with you about their reliability. My 03 has 175k on it currently. You sound like you're upset because you're unable to wrench yourself and took the car to a dealer and got a hefty bill.
Saki Kaskas was a lovely touch at the end.

Thanks for the video! Keep them coming! You do a great job with the edits and transitions!
Nice description. Unfortunately I've already replaced mine alternator last year :-)

My next project is replacing the rear axles due to a torn boot. Does any one have any suggestions on replacement rear axles for a 2003 E55?
Always charge your battery when installing a new alternator
Yeah my alternator took a shit on me because I didn’t know this prior 😂😅
DREAM CAR

Nice diy video big Meister! Greets from Germany… what are your plans for your next diy vids? Rattling door lock? Gasket change?👌🏽
Do you have some information about factory shiftlighter on E55 AMG?
Love the Need for Speed 2 music 🎶🎼
Nice 👍🏽
Beautiful car 🚗👍🏽😀
My next project is replacing the rear axles due to a torn boot. Does any one have any suggestions on replacement rear axles for a 2003 E55?
At what kms did this happen and also was it just the rectifier/regulator that failed?
I got away just replacing the voltage regulator on my SLK320 with the M112 engine, as only had 60k Miles
Hello friend, the wheels of yours E55 isso bigger from original, right? Which size and which model they are from?
So as for the collectors insurance, that wouldn’t be able to apply to the e55 right ?
No, because they made too many. 2214 units for USA alone in 2005. It would be eligible when it is 25 years old.
Thank you for sharing. I just recently completed the same repair on my 06. May I ask what the license plate mount you installed is called or found?
Did you have a battery drain over night because of this?
how much did you pay for an alternator?
$220 USD plus shipping
@@AMGmeister Great price. Where did you buy it dude I might need it too.
@@vernoncougar Me too.
@@AMGmeister Still waiting for your answer bro.
@@vernoncougar Sorry, I got it from rockauto.com www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2233536&cc=1431058&pt=2412&jsn=978
Great video's... What would I do without you
110K miles on my original alternator, still solid knock on wood
Very good Video, but hope i don't have to replace anytihing on mine :D

Can definitely tell my alternator isn't new, because I get 13.7 and 13.8 while driving. It will have to be replace eventually.

Моя мечта найти Е55 в таком состоянии.
Check JDM you’ll find low mileage Benzies mate
Impossible !
smelled like burning plastic???
Too bad it was just a voltage regulator. NOT ALTERNATOR
Alternator will go out eventually it’s a 2004 car
So I just need to change the voltage regulator? Cause I thought of burning smell I need to change it all

I fix my E55 myself, parts are costly but repairing is easy and there are lot of instructions on yt.
I’ve ordered 4 stickers for my toolbox 🧰
Thanks for the support!
That engine 😩
