Storm photographer here. All of the meteorology was accurate. Kate’s idea she’s developing… not so much. The storm nerd stuff was accurate with the rivalries between chasers. The El Reno portion was fabulous an Easter egg since the widest tornado ever recorded happened there in 2013 and killed some tornado scientists. I absolutely loved that the original red truck from the first movie was in disguise as the tornado wrangler team’s truck.
I can always forgive pseudo science for the parts of a movie where things don't exist yet. I like the accuracy of the real stuff, and I appreciate the attempt of the science behind Kate's project. Obviously we can't stop tornadoes yet so the director is not gonna discover it just for a movie. The attempt to justify it was enough not to take me out of the movie. Storm photography must be a cool job. I love the sound of a distant storm, one of God's gifts to me during a good night's rest.
Saw TWISTERS last month with the cast & it was a great popcorn film. Fans of the original in attendance loved it and the main star is Daisy. This film is a must on IMAX / DOLBY or any theatre with great sound!
I watched twisters in 4dx and now all my bones are out of place. I feel like i drove a car into a tornado and started rolling smashing into things with extreme wind, unexpected.

Saw this Friday! I loved it!!! Better than the first one in my opinion. Also the opening scene with the f5 a the overpass was paying homage to the moore 99 f5. A mother protected her son when the tornado passed over and it sucked her out leaving her son. The imprints of their bodies were left there imprinted into the concrete.
Dang. You make me feel old. I thought we were maybe around the same age. I saw Twister in theaters in the 3rd grade and I never forgot the experience. I hate getting old.
I’m so excited to watch this one tonight! The original Twister is good, but it has some silliness to it haha so I’m stoked to see what they can improve on this one.
I watched Twister (1996) at 11 with my sister and friend the day an EF 5 leveled a town not 10 miles away in '97, that movie definitely freaked me out. The new one, I didn't hate as a popcorn flick, but even with it being 28 years old, I still appreciate the original much more. Definitely miss Bill Paxton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman ❤
Such a good movie, I had no idea about the love part of this movie but I went with my girlfriend and we were both enamored by this movie, the action scenes where SO GOOD and even
I feel like they should have either went full on reboot or sequel. It seemed like a reboot from Kate having the same abilities Bill did, predicting the weather, but they had Dorothy in it, so the continuation of the original movie was there, yet they didn't reference any of the original chasers at all. Hugely missed opportunity of not having Kate being the daughter of Bill and Jo, even if Helen Hunt didn't want to do the movie, make it the actress that played the Mom in this one be her. It was a fun ride overall, there were just a lot of plot points missed.
I hope we get more disaster movies made after Twisters being such a huge success for Universal!

It´s really fun, a good disaster movie. Comparing both I still prefer the original, and I think it would be really cool to have Helen Hunt on this sequel. She didn´t have to be a mother or a aunt like Hollywood usually do, she could be Kate´s boss in New York and work together wih her on this new adventure, both generations learning from each other while working trough their traumas. I think it would be a good emotional arc there. Great video Chris!
I saw Twisters last night and I absolutely loved it! As someone who has never found the original film to be nearly as great as so many people, especially within the field of meteorology, say it is and how much praise they give it, I found Twisters to be everything I wanted the original film to be and more. I cared much more about the characters, their interactions, backstories, and how they’d survive when put in the dangerous tornado action. I also found the plot to be much more fun, interesting, and engaging than the first. The special effects were phenomenal and some of the best I’ve seen in a disaster film in a long time. The scientific side to the film was also super accurate with all the terms they used which made the overall disaster side to the film feel even more real and impactful. Overall I gave Twisters a 9/10. It improved on everything that made the original film special but becoming better than the original for that reason.
I wasn’t around when the first twisters came out but watching the first one as a kid and being able to experience the sequel on the big screen was one of the best experiences In my life
I loved it. It brought me back to when I was a kid and was passionately wanting to chase tornados. It was the same kind of love here. I can see the film makers was that kid too
That's why this was heavily promoted as a solid standalone sequel to the original movie.... Cris you forgot to also mention actor Brandon Perea playing as Boone in the film. He had an amazing memorable performance from Jordan Peele's science fiction Thriller NOPE..... FUN FACT: The director and some of the actors study under a real storm chaser and wanted to actually film in Oklahoma near Tornado Alley to make this film more realistic and grounded.
Triple rating system is great, love it. Going to see this tonight, excited! At first I was like "why even try, you can't touch the OG" but then i kept hearing that this doesn't really try to and mostly does it's own thing, i was more interested. Kind of like how Heath Ledger didn't try to copy Jack Nicholson with the joker and was of course just as if not more amazing, and then Joaquin Phoenix didn't try to copy Heather Ledger and was also amazing as the Joker.
Twister was one of the first movies I remember and I adored it. It’s the movie that grew my fascination with storms. I’m glad Twisters lives up to the original 😃 it was great to see in theaters. And I will be watching it again on blu ray 😃
I just watched an interview with the actors from this new one and they said it was a mix of practical like in the first one as well as CGI. Also this was shot on film like the first one, rather than digital. I saw the new one earlier today and have to say, as someone who saw the original in the theater at 13 years old, I was very impressed! Absolutely phenomenal movie!
3:26 thats because its a reboot from the first movie, different story not connecting to the first movie but references to the first movie like how Daisy Edgar Jones was wearing same clothes as Helen Hunt in the first movie
I was 10 when the original came out. Love that movie. Lost 2 houses to a tornado. The 2nd one we lost, me, mom and dad was in it. I may go watch this tomorrow after work.
Ok I have seen the original Twister as a kid and it holds a spot in my heart for weather movies. Twister was a movie that got me to love tornadoes and want to learn more about them. Now seeing that Twisters is not a sequel and kind of its own thing has me both relieved and mostly concerned. Look after the first trailer released I was already critising the movie and thinking it was just a retelling of the original but now looks like my fears have been revealed. But on the plus side the good thing is that it doesn't do wat most sequels do where we somehow follow someone who was related to the original characters and they track storms and wat not. Overall I'm still watching this movie but I still will hold the original Twister as a great film and hoping this one will blow me away.
