You need to google Reed Timmer... that firing fireworks into a tornado is something he has done and his dominator chase vehicle is an engineering wonder....he has some amazing footage of a large F4 just wrecking shop in a field of wind turbines
@@pongo5000 i grew up in the days of VHS and physical rewind a movie to watch it again. I did that with Twister until the tape wore out. So my expectations being met with this is a pleasant surprise
Favorite line from Anthony Ramos "Why is Clark Kent yelling at me?": Since David Corenswet got the opportunity to audition for Superman/Clark Kent during the making of the film Twisters. Glen Powell who is the lead recorded Corenswet's excitement and would release the video after the film's release.
Daisy Edgar-Jones did a phenomenal job in this. In the 5-years-ago scenes she had a playfulness and recklessness that genuinely made her seem young and inexperienced, and then in the current day scenes she had such a heaviness and seriousness that the trauma gave her. I just think that could have easily been overacted and too much, but she pulled it off perfectly. I also love that the more she interacts with Tyler and his team the more she gets that silliness and joy back. As someone who loves the 90s Twister and has probably seen it a couple dozen times, this was a worthy addition to that universe.
Real. You can actually see the light leave her eyes in the scenes that follow the opening sequence. And then you see it come back on when she’s chasing with Tyler ❤
yes so agree i lover her since normal people and i loved that she’s not a one dimensional actress that only has one character they can play. she made me feel so sorry for kate and that scene in the barn broke me for some reason. can’t wait for her up and coming movies.
Fun Fact: The woman who played Jo's mother in the original Twister, opening sequence, is sitting on Glen Powell's right during the rodeo scene. He heard she was just an extra in the crowd so he got her and sat her next to him. Shes the only actor from the original to make an appearance in the remake/reboot.
Correction. Rusty Schwimmer plays Jo's mother in the original film. The woman sitting next to Glen Powell was an extra during the Wakita aftermath scene in Twister where Jo sees a family that looks similar to her own family.
As someone who spent my childhood in Kansas this movie hit home because our town had storm that could cause as much damage as a tornado, though thankfully had one directly hit us. So I loved that as exciting as it is to chase storms they still showed how bad the aftermath is for people who lose their homes and even their lives. And for people who never lived in tornado alley, no it’s not something they made up for the movie, it’s 100% true that you can learn to smell and even feel when storms are coming because of how much the air changes.
I also heard that they were filming in tornado alley, and had to actually film around actual storms! Which I thought was really interesting and awesome instead of just filming with more CGI!
The 'annoying' guy during the rodeo scene who refused to believe there was a tornado and died trying to drive away is a cameo from Bill Paxton's son James!
I have lived in tornado alley most of my life. A lot of this is absolutely accurate. The dead air in humidity u can feel it. They can be predicted but they also pop up out of weather without warning. Until you've been huddled in a basement with most of the people you are close to, praying it doesn't hit you head on in the next 2 minutes you will never know how a tornado can change your life. The movies are fun but these deaths were very realistic and this movie though really good, hit close to home. I love you guys as always 🫶🏽✌️🎬🌪🌪
There’s a real life legendary Storm Chaser and TH-camr named Reed Timmer, only he has a REAL tornado intercept vehicle called THE DOMINATOR 3. And this one is better in every way than the custom Dodge Ram pickup Glenn Powells character used. It was a Ford F-350 that went through a $750,000 transformation to become a moving fortress/scientific research vehicle. It has kevlar composite coating with 16 gauge steel all over the vehicle, polycarbonate shatter resistant windows, can withstand winds up to 200 miles per hour, weather monitoring equipment on top as well as rockets that are shot into the tornado to gather data, and most importantly it’s shaped like an aerodynamic shoe/tortoise shell that can be lowered down so that the winds can’t get under and flip the vehicle over and has spikes that drill into the ground to anchor it. Put I’m guessing they didn’t go with that for the movie because they needed a budget and Dodge wanted to see as much of their Ram as possible unobstructed by armor.
Yes!!!! 💯 I remember that, and if I remember correctly before the science channels like Discovery, et; al; became "reality based bullshit!" As they all are now...I remember the "Storm Chasers." Film crews actually following teams that were legitimate instead of what it's become now.
@@jindas4217 They stopped doing that due to safety. When they were filming last year they put out a call for extras in the area (they needed vehicles/people who could just run around and lay on the ground). I almost applied, but didn't. Of course, now I wish I would have😂
In the rodeo scenes, Glen Powell's parents are sitting behind him and Daisy and the woman sitting next to Glen Powell is the actress who originally played young Jo's mom in the OG Twister. Maura Tierney played Kate's mom.
Sad fact: El Reno in 2013 had a EF3 tornado that killed tornado chaser Tim Samaras. When I first seen the trailer for this I questioned why would you make a sequel/reboot when the first one was perfect (like the crow) but after seeing this movie in theaters it was actually really good (not the crow)
This was a fantastic sequel. Glad it landed. I was expecting a disaster (heh). That scene in the pool got me teary eyed a bit seeing Kate's trauma hitting her hard in that moment. I love how they wrote the characters in this movie. The sound and visuals were top tier. Nothing will beat the classic, but this is a very very solid film.
As a huge fan of Twister, I think they did a phenomenal job with Twisters. I loved that they put Dorotthy in this movie. And I loved how they put a movie theater in this one mirroring the drive-in theater in Twister. And Roxy, I so much love your LOST references, NOT PENNY'S BOAT and WE HAVE TO GO BACK.
Less of a fun fact: The El Reno tornado became so massive so quickly that 3 storm chasers were caught by surprise and unfortunately died, much like the opening scene of Twisters. It was the first deaths on record for active storm chasers.
@@michelle6337, wait, that's how they died? I knew they were killed by the El Reno tornado but I did not know it was due to unexpectedly rapid expansion.
The reason they didn’t show the first town being destroyed was because that town was hit by an actual tornado the year before, and they were given permission to film in an area that hadn’t been rebuilt yet.
Greg This sequel is filmed in same state as the original Twister in Oklahoma. They do made references to original such as Dorothy device and Katie (Daisy Edgar Jones) can sense and feels the weather like Bill Paxton's Bill did......
Texan here. One summer we had a horrible tornado and we were at six flags. When my uncle finally picked up us it was dark, bad weather, not great car, and we hear a train coming. Sad thing is, we cannot tell if it's a train or a tornado because it can literally sound like a freight train! So he just turned to us and asked "do I keep driving or just sit here and wait? I can't see anything!" He decided keep driving, idk how we've lived this long but here we are 😂.
HECK YES! This is actually one of my favorite movies since I watched in theatres! I loved the actors chemistry in this and how intense it felt, I was on the edge of my seat!
just a fun little fact in case you didn't know: there were *real* tornadoes that happened during the making of the film! This was obviously due to it being in tornado alley. I don't know exactly when these happened, but I know one of them was during the el reno shot when they were trying to get everyone to leave their small shops.
What I thought was really interesting about the last tornado was that they specifically chose El Reno, which back in 2013 was the location of the largest tornado in recorded history (specifically the widest). It was about 2 miles wide and it was a really ugly wedge tornado. Some of the winds even reached almost 300 MPH. Unfortunately, it took the lives of 8 people including 3 professional storm chasers: Tim Samaras, his son Paul, and their partner Carl Young. From what I remember, I believe it picked them up and threw them in their car about half a mile away. The location of El Reno in the movie was definitely a nod to that unfortunate tragedy. And honestly, bro 2013 was a real BAD year for strong tornadoes, like the famous Moore Oklahoma tornado..
love you guys reacting together. such bestie/ bro-sis energy. and the animal manifestations are hilarious!... also, i love how everyone on this channel appreciate so much of production details. 😊

Oh yes also, what was also nice about this new version is that they made it a point for the audience to know that the twisters and the tornadoes are much more aggressive and violent in its make up than before before you had a category five and that was a rare One to happen. Where they were going with this one was that because of the way things are now they are more frequent and more intense than before, and then lends to back to the main characters desire to try to find a way to fight back.

I saw this film in the cinema three days ago and almost every seat was filled. And this was so much fun to watch. I might like this more than the original, just because of the characters and the story.
Little fact about the rodeo scene when the tornado was hitting. I believe I was watching an interview with Glenn and Daisy. And I think they said when they were filming that scene, they did everything all in one shot and it was only one time that they were able to do it and they had its spot on and the whole entire devastation and that they made all that, but they had to get everything all in one take. I believe that they said in an interview with that scene.
It is David Cornsweet. He is Superman. He was running up during filming this movie and got that part while filming. And the girl in the beginning is Kiernan Shipka. She is not from Once Upon a Time. She plays Sabrina in chilling adventures of sabrina on netflix.
Fuck I love this franchise and -dont tell the others you two are my favorite at this point -i appreciate they weren't shy about just throwing people to the storm
Saw it in theaters and the sound design of the opening tornado mixed with the acting made me absolutely terrified. I found myself looking away a lot because it was so realistic. Lived through several tornado warnings and it was way too authentic.
Love the fact that I’ve been watching this whole video while there’s a big storm outside my house. Big thunder and lightning that’s lighting up the room while I’m watching this is perfect!
I've been WAITING for this reaction and my girl Roxy did not disappoint! She is all of us when it comes to the reactions to Glen Powell, the girls that get it, get it and the girls that don't, don't 😪😍😍
Ooo you guys are in for a good one. The original is one of my favourite movies of all time .watched it a lot when i was a kid. When i first heard about this movie. I thought it was gonna suck. So i went to the cinema last month. And i had a blast with it. It was a lot of fun. And a solid sequel which is rare these days
omg YESSS i was waiting for this reaction guyssss!! i absolutely LOVEDDDD everything about this movie! glen and daisy were perfect leads, and the soundtrack went really nice with the intense scenes! DEFINITELY exceeded/met the hype for me and is such a good summer blockbuster!
As someone who loves tornadoes.. Tornadoes in real life are way more dangerous than portrayed in the movie and there are many times in the movie where the characters should have died but didn't.
my best friend was actually in a tornado in El Reno i asked her how accurate the film was, and she said the only thing they got wrong is there ant that many people in that town
46:50 for the superhero question, I think she’d make a great Jean Grey. She does excellent with emoting via facial expressions alone and is super empathetic.
Her name is Marie tourney she played the nurse/Dr Abby Lockhart. Other then the main nurse Carol Hathaway played by Julian Margulies for the first 6 seasons.

PS: Glen follows you on twitter??? That is amazing!
No love for Roxy at 20:02😂
Roxy: He is a smoke show😍. Greg: I think he's gonna die😏. Roxy: Why would you do that to me?😮💨. Me:🤣🤣. I love it. You guys should react to the new Jackpot movie! It's insane!
Can we have more reactions where the two of you just give each other 💩 the entire time? 😂
I saw this film in the cinema three days ago and almost every seat was filled. And this was so much fun to watch. I might like this more than the original, just because of the characters and the story.
Roxy saying “spot” took me back to being yelled at by my jazz teacher 😭😭😭
The mother is Mara Tierney from Newsradio and other shows and movies
This movie nails how chasing is today from the scenic tours you can book all the way to the storm rated vehicles.
In the rodeo scene Kate looks like she’s dressed like Jo in the original Twister 🌪️🌪️🌪️
The intro 😂😂
I know Glenn Powell fatigue is a real threat but dude would be perfect as Duke in a live action "G.I. Joe" film.
The THIRST is strong w/Roxy 😂
It is David Cornsweet. He is Superman. He was running up during filming this movie and got that part while filming. And the girl in the beginning is Kiernan Shipka. She is not from Once Upon a Time. She plays Sabrina in chilling adventures of sabrina on netflix.
Great movie, however HUGE missed opportunity not having the mom in the movie not being Helen Hunt
I’ve been waiting for this reaction! I’ve never clicked so fast on a notification!
PS…Roxy, you’re doing some magic on the socials!
I’m so happy to hear that!
That was a great intro, brilliant lol!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Roxy, best tornado impression!!! Twisters was a fun awesome movie just as the original.
I saw this film opening night in 4DX, whooooooooo that film is what 4DX is made for!!
Has me crying laughing in the first 30 seconds 😂❤
that captain america cut away was brilliant. i hope PRAPER can see this comment!! lol you guys shout them out so much im actually gunna use them
Love the fact that I’ve been watching this whole video while there’s a big storm outside my house.
Exactly queen
I live in Oklahoma and every spring we get tornadoes. Its always scary especially when you live around nothing but flat land lol
I survived one. They are no joke. I don’t think the PTSD I’ll ever go away.
She does excellent with emoting via facial expressions alone and is super empathetic.
you guys have to see HIT MAN (2024) starring Glen Powell. nothing but hits this year. Hollywood movie star right there
you guys missed james gunns new superman at first and second glance. and roxy says he looks like henry cavil. i wonder why lol
Feeling that heavy air before the storm is incredible. You’re entire body gets excited because it knows a thrill is right around the corner
“WE GOT COWS!!!” 😂😂😂 🐄 🐮
When I started this reaction, all I said was I wanted someone to say, “We Got Cows” and THANK YOU GREG!! 😂😂😂
The girls name at the start is Keirnan Shipka. She was Sabrina in the Netflix series
Her name is Marie tourney she played the nurse/Dr Abby Lockhart. Other then the main nurse Carol Hathaway played by Julian Margulies for the first 6 seasons.
the destruction of that first aftermath scene/town was likely left out in order to give the rodeo destruction the full emotional weight
This one was great! Most girls I know saw it for Glen so it was funny hearing Roxy say that 16:26 😂
Btw I love these movies I have lived the entire 53 years of my life in Tornado Alley. I currently live in Hiawatha Kansas along the Nebraska line
