These are solid, if imperfect releases from Citizen. It is exciting to see Citizen really enter the conversation with enthusiasts. I like the super titanium model, with green or blue being my favorites. The white dial is even nice (affordable Snowflake?), but the colors just offer a bit extra style. The clasp is disappointing, but not surprising considering the price and being from a larger brand. I have even seen the Tsuyosa small seconds on discount already. I'm sure the titanium model is not far behind and will become an even better deal in that case. I tried on a bunch of versions of the orignal Tsuyosa last year and was impressed for the money. I am definitely considering getting the titanium model. Thanks for putting these watches in your extremely well shot videos.
I have the small seconds Tsuyosa in this blue. For my 7.5" wrist, it fits PERFECTLY. Well balanced and the blue is incredible. It really is the perfect shade. It seems to go with everything as the blue has some green in it. I wear a lot of blue in my clothing and no matter if it's royal, sky, dark or light blue, casual or dressy, it just works.
Also, getting your fingers on the crown when it's out isn't too bad. If I just need to wind it, I just rub my finger against the underneath of the crown and wind it with that one finger. Much easier and fewer scratches on the case, over time.
A great video Tom! Both look amazing, but I think I’d choose the titanium. Really love that case and agree, the clasp could have used more love, but not a huge deal breaker. Cheers!!
The success of Citizen Tsuyosa makes Citizen launch successors like Tsuyosa small second & Citizen Forza. Citizen just launching New Series 8 GMT with integrated bracelet likes Tsuyosa shape models. Maybe next Citizen should be release the Tsuyosa Diver. 👍👍👍
I tried them both at the boutique and I totally agree with your conclusions, the Tsuyosa looks great but feels too hefty and bulky on the wrist when the super Titanium wears better being lighter, and I do prefer its dial pattern, so I bought a Super Titanium for a close friend's birthday and for myself you would ask? I bought the new Seiko 5 SNXS which has kind of the same bracelet, which I do really like, than the Tsuyosa and being smaller is way more confortable on the wrist, which makes it IMO the perfect summer watch I was looking for.
The tsuysa should be fun with a good rubber strap. It’s not a bad watch. Not at all. But I guess I just wanted the total Package to be a a good as the dials look. Or something like that. 😅
I have replaced the clasp after the day i got the watch, I went for a "Titanium Sicherheits Titanfaltschließe f. Kautschukuhrband & Titanuhrenband 20mm" the watch lookes amazing with this clasp, This one has 3 micro adjustments.
I have tried on both. The blue one is brilliant when you are suitable for lighter coloured clothes, and super stylish with darker colour as well. The titanium looks quite dim and matt considering the outfits. So I think style wise, go for titanium if you are low profile; go for the steel version if you prefer a more exotic and unique dial. (I have always been wearing the most silm Citizen ecodrive watch, but the steel version doesn't weigh much on hand, which is a plus)
Good points on the style of each. I like the blue, but worry it would be a bit bright and/or clashing with the other blues I typically wear. I think the blue on the titanium model might work better.
The funny thing with these two watches is that they stuck with the miyota 8000 series. The new small second-hand 8300 introduction mitigates the second hand studer. I wish the Forza would have at least used the Miyota 9000 series.
Good stuff as ever Tom. The offset small seconds on the Titanium appeals to me but a couple of negatives do not. I like to feel that I have something on the wrist and the only Titanium watch that actually does is a ruddy joke , yes the Rolex Deep Sea Challenge !. Personally I think it would look better sans date as the proximity to the sub seconds looks a tad cluttered. So in stainless minus the date I would probably give it whirl as for the money Citizen have been releasing some pretty good affordable pieces of late.
Saludos!!
I was looking for a comparison of these 2 models for a while! Though I'm still undecided, i'm leaning towards the small seconds since i want sometbing more dressy and I like to look of the dial and bracelet quite a bit more. Might consider the Eco-drive version of the titanium as an addition afterwards
@@BowlOfSalmon agreed. Already got the metal casioak G-Shock as my rugged, "sporty" model so the small seconds it is. It also helps that I'm seeing discounts on it already since it released a bit earlier than the titanium ones!
I bought the Gery dial Forza and then I bought the blue dial tsuyosa later. The comfort of wearing, I vote Forza but for the look, I prefer Tsuyosa, it just look good and more handsome on the wrist.
@@BowlOfSalmon I love the dials. It’s just the hands on the steel tsuyosas. The titanium models definitely look the best and have proper hand proportions.
I've owned Citizen Eco drives for years ( maybe up to 2 decades) exclusively as dependable workhorse watches. Just bought a 2012 NB0040-59A Signature Collection watch from ebay as an alternative to mid level Swiss brands. The Citizen absolutely kills every Swiss watch Ive owned when it comes to attention to detail & finishing ( dial, bracelet, case... unsurpassed). I think the 2 watches reviewed here also reflected a quality that just cant be matched by any Swiss brand dollar for dollar. This brand has super quality. ( my Citizen auto is better than the Orient Star that I purchased last year).
Weird choice for the super Forza to go with the lower grade movement and the same stamped clasp as the basic tsuyosa.. actually makes the tsuyosa small seconds more compelling with current discounts imo
Citizen have replaced seiko in the entry level for me, including the pro master series. Looks great, very good entry level movements at a great price. I can easily forgive the bracelets, they had to save somewhere. I might just swap my blue tsuyosa for the new ti model…
Hello sir i am looking to buy the green dial but i am not able to find the exact color in the same model in the United states. Can you please help me out?
PRX concurrency only on looking, technically far away from the Tissot and metal bracelet not very comod. For the price especially with reductions sometime occurs, its more then acceptable as every day clock.
Citizen Super Titanium Forza is Watch of the Year for the build quality, design and price point. Period.
might well be
Citizen has been killing it lately! These wear so much better than a PRX and far better value. Love my green Tsuyosa and gold Series 8 GMT
I need to spend time with a prx I guess. Never did for long
The quality of these videos are insane!
Thanx man
You meant that the watches aren't that good LOL
You have me browsing for one of these! Lovely stuff Tom, appreciate your awesome videos 🙌🏻
Curious to see where I steered you …

Agreeing to what you say. 🤛(Always easy to find citizen below the official prices. )
You know what. I’m really starting to like this bowl of salmon guy! The Ti looks great also! Citizen is killing it in this price range!
Lol. Thx
My Titanium Forza arrived today, and I am one happy camper.

@@BowlOfSalmon not yet. The blue leather strap citizen makes for it looks good.
Where can i get the green version of it?
@@bricksandstones5816 it's blue. There is no green yet
Was just looking at the forza today, love the video and thanks for the info!
Thanks ! I only found out making the video the us is the only market that had the name Forza for it.
Do you know when the green dial is launching?
Awesome video! I will probably add the super titanium watch to collection in the near future. Might go for the eco-drive chrono though
The eco drives are cool. Maybe a little more reliable too
Another great review Tom! 👌🏻 I like the background music.
thanks ,, about the music: ? when you noticed it does that mean it was too loud ? :s
@@BowlOfSalmon No not at all. It was a nice wallpaper tune to the edit.

Thx J. Not a deal breaker at this price point. Just parts of me who wishes they would totally knock it out of the park
@@BowlOfSalmon Anytime! Yes I know, with just a tiny bit more effort and $ spent, it could have fully delivered
I saw your pics already on HF. I was looking forward to this vid. Perhaps, I grab one myself.

@BowlOfSalmon Yes, picked up a first release off eBay in the turquoise blue dial for under 200. The panda chronograph looks so classy.

Tsuyosa feels a little more formal and dressed up I guess. No wrong choices
Wish the zenshin came in 35mm, I’ve been eyeing the Tissot prx mop for a while now but these citizens are even more affordable :)
I need to get tissot to the channel
The new titanium models are definitely the winners over the Tsuyosas. The hands on the steel models are just to skinny.
I have no complaints about the dials on tbh. Elegant. The titanium feels more original somehow

They look nice but I hate that you can’t swap out band
Citizen Has a leather option no ? I’m sure some aftermarket party will make one
Do you find the new tsuyosa bigger on your wrist than the older version, even though they’re both 40mm? 😊
Never realised they had different specs tbh. So didn’t notice
Both watches are just 2-3mm too big. Hopefully they offer more sizes in the future
But do try the forza. Wears a little smaller than size suggests.

rock scissors paper ?
I am waiting for them to create a bit smaller versions like 38mm
maybe they will do quartz... the super titanium wears a little smaller than size suggest imho. do try it

its okay but its not a Seiko turtle.
That’s an icon for seiko
That’s not my cup of tea or rather go for tissot PRX
