  • It’s starting to feel like summer out there, and we’ll be spending more time outside, barbecuing, visiting, working with animals and trying to avoid those pesky flies. Today I’m sharing a lifehack, or rather “Ranch Hack” on how to make quick and easy home made fly traps.

Catch the flies then pour it all into the chickens water once a week or once a month.. The apple cider vinegar has health benefits for the chicken plut they can eat the flies.

That is an outstanding tip, Regina! I know we used to put apple cider vinegar in the chicks water when they were brand new. Thanks for the reminder! :)

And then eat the chicken that's full of flies ? No thanks

@@connieblackford5267 Meat is meat. You've probably eaten chicken nuggets before, which are made from...who knows.

@@wilb6657, Right! Everything we eat has eaten flies , rats , who knows ? Chicken nuggets seem to be made of cardboard sometimes as far as I know 🤣. Actually, chickens eat their own poop . Our pet chickens poop in their feeder and then turn right back around and eat the feed . They poop in their waterer too . We keep it cleaned daily . But each day , I go in to check and they’re drinking right out of they water they pooped in . My husband tells me not to bother cleaning it daily cuz they’ll just poop in it all again. But I can’t help it . We love our chickens so much. But they’re a gross animal at times . 😂

If you add a drop of dish soap to each jar, the surface tension of the water goes down and the flies can't escape once they touch it. You only need 1 drop.

Great tip! I'm going to give it a try. Thank you!

I sure don't understand why anyone would give a THUMBS DOWN for this video. It looks great. I have a different type of fly trap but I'm going to give these a try because I don't think they'll smell as badly as the ones I use - so I can put them on the patio.

Loved this Mia! Thanks so much for posting! I have a small garden at my son's and the flies are horrible. Leaf miners on the lemon tree and lime tree and even on the cucumber leaves this year. And the flies have been nasty biters. So this is great help!
