Most of Canadian commemoratives are the best for me, especially the coloured 10 cent coin from 2021. That is why Canadian coins already my favourite since I started collecting coins and banknotes in June 2018.
Really did not know how many commemorative coins Canada had!! It almost rivals the UK....oh and p.s. 15 years is manslaughter..25 is silver...30 is murder and 50 golden (my wedding annivs)
Did you know that in 1968 that some of the 10 Cents (both the silver and nickel) were illegally minted in the US in Philadelphia? Canadian law requires that anything imported has to show the country of origin, which the Royal Canadian Mint later admitted to ignoring. The difference is in the reeding. Those from Philadelphia have the same reeding as US coins, which I personally can tell apart from the Canadian style.
I did read that and it was really interesting how such a thing could happen. And I had to compare the reeding with a Philadelphia mint 1968 from my personal collection to be able to tell the difference. I actually had harder time confirming the coin was silver 😅
