@@atifch__0120 there are so many. I don’t have very many Pakistan coins and the ones that I do find are always the lower denominations or older coins. I only just today found out that there 10 rupee coins, 20, 50 even 70 rupees. I had no idea they even existed

Firstly, thank you for giving the video a view and leaving a comment! I’m glad that I could help give you some new information! If you have the money just sitting in the bank and are really interested in get noodling through coins, getting rolls (or bags) is definitely worth it. Though it’s not always easy to do. I’m with Commbank and they’ve recently stopped the general public from withdrawing large amounts of coins (which is why I haven’t been able to make any videos on Australian coins lately) unless you have a business account, but as far as I know, most other banks will let you use their coin roll machine if you have an account with them. As for cleaning your coins, generally, everyone agrees that you shouldn’t clean your coins. Especially if there’s any value above face value. But they’re your coins and you can do what you want. If your wondering what method to use, I’d suggest using some practice coins before cleaning the main ones you want, so then you can see for yourself if the results are worth it and which way to clean is best. As for keeping coins in good condition, for short term, a tissue is fine. But the best way is in a coin holder/protecter (sometimes called a 2x2 holder) they’re generally cheap and effective. Most people avoid the self adhesive ones because the glue can potentially damage the coin over time. You can also buy plastic coin folder sheets, but that can be difficult to find the right kind of plastic (because any plastic made with acid, will damage the coins after a couple of years) and then there are also individual plastic coin holders which are usually safe and made in various sizes for different coins. Tried the recording message that converted to text & sent without reading. Read few days later & was mumbo jumbo new language 😀 luckily my friend knew what I was meaning & had a laugh too! So don't worry about checking typos if reply to me, plus you have lots of replies to read. I use same bank & was just going to go inside to teller & ask to get coin rolls. When I get there & it's open will let you know yes or no over counter as no savings only regular a/c. Discrimination 🙂

Typically, I buy my coins in bulk on eBay, but I’m fairly selective in what I buy; always buying what’s in the picture, not the generic ones that don’t guarantee what you’re getting. And I buy ones where I can clearly see silver coins, because to me that shows there maybe more silver and the quality of the coin finds are more likely to be better. And my local coin store also sells world coins in bulk and I buy from there regularly.

I guess it depends on what you consider a “set”. Off the top of my head, there are album sets for this one and the 3 alphabet series. But there’s also the dinosaur set of 4 coins, there’s the ANZAC coins which I suppose you could call a set

The 2021 donation dollars are a bit less common than the 2020, but I don’t think that adds much if any value in itself. And the greenish blue… without seeing it, it doesn’t sound like it’s a dramatic enough “error” to add any value, sorry

Hey Vicky. I suppose that it stands to reason that as some coins are more rare and valuable as it currently stands, that should coins fall out of circulation that value would potentially increase. And I only base that on that there are a lot coin collectors around, so even if coins were removed, there is still demand for coins, and ultimately, it’s supply and demand that dictates value

Yes, there are a few. Renniks is the main book that I know a lot of people use (there are occasionally mistakes though). You can also find coin mintages on the Royal Australian Mint website (you can simply Google “Australian 50 cent coin mintage” for example and it should pop up. And you can also use Numista as well, to catalog your or your son’s collection and that has mintage numbers for each coin/year, and is mostly accurate (but not always)

And yeah, people will sometimes look at me confused when I’m checking my change, but it can be a conversation starter/learning experience for the person that gave the change 😂 Sadly, I’ve never found the elusive mule, but one of these days 😂 and I love your story of how you found yours! As for other things I collect, I have about 300 sci fi/fantasy novels 😅 I’m sure stamp collecting would be fun, but I’m scared to fall down that rabbit hole and become hyper fixated on that 😂 with coin collecting, I just wanted all the 20 cent commemoratives to start with and then the other commemoratives and then all the years and now I’m trying to find every coin ever made in the whole world, so if I start even looking at stamps I know where that is going to lead 😂 but I hope the philately hobby will be fun and exciting for you and not get in the way of (in my opinion) the superior hobby of coin collecting 😂
