This is legitimately the BEST of both worlds on one record & impressive can hardly describe the impact this has on the first listen alone. j-hope up here rappin with the greatest to do ever do it all while holdin his own. BTS is so hip-hop, they've been hip-hop from the start. You can hear it all over this record. Please perform at Dreamville Fest next month Hobi!

I love how you pointed out the fact that this bridge that they connect in this song is insane.
It's always unfortunate to see the Korean and African American communities pitted against each other to fit a bigger narrative and serve the purpose of this oppressive system. Hip-hop is transformative for many and I truly appreciate J. Cole stretching out that hand for J-Hope. It might be small to others, but it speaks volumes for those that are affected by the constant tension between 2 communities. We are more similar than we think we are and I hope one day we can all live in a society where these collabs or scenes don't have to mean more than what it is 🙂

I got emotional while watching the MV, but I think it's because this is his last song to us before he leaves to the military. And I'm just so happy for him that he got to do this song with his role model. Where he got his name from. And J-Hope's super chill with what he had to say. The chorus is said about 4 times and feels more like a J.Cole song but I think that's just because he had so much to say but it's not a bad thing at all. I think the combination between the two is so good. But J.Cole came and has so many things to say which I should not have surprised me. I honestly didn't think he would go this hard on a super chill song like this. I'm just happy that Hobi got to do this with his role model and that's what really got me emotional. Also, the song is so chill. I will probably put it with Airplane and Blue Side since this song gives more Hope World vibes than Jack in the Box.

BTS Ch. 2 has been awesome so far... I purely LOVE that our idols are all getting to work with the idols that inspired THEM-- RM with a dream collab list including Epik High's Tablo, Jin with Chris Martin and Coldplay, Jimin with BigBang's Taeyang, and now Hobi with J. Cole. There's an old saying that a good parent gives their children roots and wings... and BTS has had some VERY good musical parents. We're seeing it right here-- J. Cole is Hobi's roots, and now he's helping him fly.

I found myself tearing up a bit during J.Cole's verse. I like his music as a casual fan but hearing his verse made my level of respect and admiration soar through the roof. Like my heart is swelling with awe. His honesty, humility, and mention of his faith are so refreshing to my ears and I simply love it. It's wonderful. I did a little research just now and I had no idea that he was a Christian, but again I admire him for not allowing critics or netizens to change him or pull him away from God and what he believes in. I get so tired of hearing rappers both male and female rap about the same things, using the same themes like: (bad b****, sexual this and this, money, hoes, etc.) to rap about. It's tired in my opinion. And it makes me think that they can't or refuse to step outside that box of normality to find their own individualistic creativity that's unique to them. It's not an easy thing to do, no. But once you find who you are in your craft, can't nobody tell you anything about it. It's all you. You don't gotta talk about those things to be relevant and be liked by the majority. J.Cole proves that here.

And just went straight to geeking out on Hip Hop and educating the masses on the culture of it. I swear I can listen to you talk about rappers and hip hop for hours. This was a great reaction. I'm happy you said it because I've been saying this to those Army that only like BTS pop music. That BTS roots is hip hop they started out as a hip hop group. But they wasn't trying to hear me.
